Chapter 92: 【92】First operation 1
Turning around, Xie Wanying saw Doctor Wang rushing out of the office. The rest of the dical students, sensing the subtle atmosphere, fixed their eyes on every move of Doctor Wang, all of them tense.
“Yes, yes, as Director Lv ordered, you hurry up and prepare a bed—” Doctor Wang said to the nurse while holding the phone to his ear, speaking with Director Lv, “Director Lv, you’re saying we don’t need to prepare a bed? The patient won’t be admitted, and we’ll just treat the wound in our ward, is that correct?”
Upon hearing this, the nurse was surprised: “Not admitted? Can’t it be handled in the ergency room? Why send to our ward?”
“What are you talking about! This is a very important patient of Director Lv. If Director Lv’s patient wants to have their wounds treated in the ward instead of the ergency room, don’t you understand? What kind of place is the ergency room? It’s chaotic; all sorts of patients are there. Treating a wound in such a place would affect the patient’s mood,” Doctor Wang lectured the nurse.
Realizing what was happening, the nurse said, “I’ll go to the dressing room and prepare things for you.”
...
Doctor Wang waved his hand: “Hurry up, Director Lv and the patient will be here soon.”
The nurse ran off. The director’s VIP is not an ordinary patient; they certainly needed to be catered to properly.
A group of dical students looked on, exchanging glances: Who could be the patient that is a VIP of the director?
Xie Wanying glanced at the list of departnt doctors hanging in the ward corridor, which stated that the chief director of neurosurgery was surnad Pang, and the deputy director was surnad Lv.
Rembering the advice of her senior, Xie Wanying knew she shouldn’t join the other dical students to spectate and went straight into the office. Unexpectedly, as soon as Doctor Wang turned his head and saw her leaving, he shouted, “What’s the matter with you, student? A patient has arrived, and instead of learning, where do you think you’re going?”
Previously, Doctor Wang had seen her studying alone and hadn’t bothered her. Now that he suddenly put on airs, it was obvious it was because of Director Lv’s arrival.
Thinking over it, her senior had only told her not to ask questions; she had intended to be invisible, but now with Doctor Wang calling her like this, she feared she might cause trouble for her senior if she didn’t turn around. Xie Wanying turned back and joined the ranks of dical students.
Now, Doctor Wang looked satisfied.
The group lined up neatly, standing outside the dressing room door. Inside, the nurse bustled about preparing surgical instrunts and disinfectants, asking Doctor Wang, “What exactly is the patient’s condition? The ergency room call wasn’t clear.”
Doctor Wang said, “You’ll know when the patient arrives.”
Clearly, on the phone, Director Lv was not willing to disclose a single word about the patient, believing that those below did not need to know the privacy of the VIP patient’s condition.
So, the nurse didn’t ask any further and stood there as well.
The large group waited for about half an hour until several figures finally appeared at the end of the corridor.
That’s to say, under normal circumstances in the ward, half an hour is quite good for waiting for an ergency patient to co up. The ergency room is busy with its own matters; transferring ergency patients to the ward requires waiting in turn. Especially for minor patients with connections who also say they won’t be admitted, the ergency room doesn’t know what you’re trying to do.
It wasn’t until Director Lv personally arrived and went to the ergency room to bring the patient up. From a distance, complaints from Director Lv could be heard along with explanations to the patient’s family: “Our hospital’s ergency room is always like this, newcors on duty who don’t understand many things, so they act all slow and sluggish.”
