Chapter 926: [926] Back to the departnt
The people in the conference room saw him co and go so suddenly, and apart from Zhu Huicang and the others in the know, everyone was brimming with questions.
After eating, everyone went back to their respective departnts to report they were safe and sound.
Xie Wanying returned to the Hepatobiliary Surgery departnt with her senior and encountered Song Xueling, who was slowly donning his white coat in the corridor.
“Have you returned?” Qiu Ruiyun waved a greeting to his junior brother.
“Yes, just got back,” replied Song Xueling, turning around. His sharp eyes quickly noticed Xie Wanying acting strangely behind soone else, “Dr. Xie?”
Xie Wanying’s hand was raised to cover her face, fearing she might inadvertently scare a patient with a weak heart. However, this gesture clearly couldn’t fool Doctor Song’s perceptive gaze.
“Stop staring at her,” Qiu Ruiyun pulled his peering junior brother back, whispering, “Don’t stare hard at a girl at a ti like this, it’s impolite.”
Finding his senior brother’s excuse absurd, Song Xueling’s quiet eyes sparkled as he remarked, “I’m curious about who had the skill to turn her face into a painted artwork.”
Qiu Ruiyun let out a chuckle and patted his junior brother on the shoulder, “You an to say the work is comparable to Van Gogh’s, huh?”
(Kang Mingzhu: My goodness, was the person they were all curious about her?)
Xie Wanying decided it was best to remain silent out of consideration for her senior sister.
Standing still, Song Xueling was evidently waiting for Xie Wanying to co over.
“Do you need sothing, Doctor Song?” asked Xie Wanying.
“On the way back, I discussed with Teacher Tao that next ti we could suggest the patients who will undergo demonstration surgery,” Song Xueling whispered to her.
Doctor Song truly is a kind soul. Had he guessed her intentions earlier? A touch of deep gratitude shone in Xie Wanying’s eyes.
Receiving that look, Song Xueling felt slightly embarrassed, his hands awkwardly thrust into his white coat.
“Co on in,” Qiu Ruiyun, who had pushed the door open in front, called back to the two stragglers, worried these two newcors might pair up behind everyone’s backs again.
The group quickened their pace and entered Tao Zhijie’s office.
Just back, Tao Zhijie was busy tidying up office supplies and asked if anything had happened in the departnt during his absence, “So, any issues with the patients after we left?”
“No,” shook Gong Xiangbin, who had been on duty in the departnt these past few days.
“Really, no issues?” Tao Zhijie wasn’t fully reassured and double-checked. Looking up inadvertently, he caught sight of Xie Wanying’s face and jolted, as if stunned.
Thinking back, the person who stayed the calst upon seeing her face was Doctor Song. His brilliant eyes had indeed imdiately discerned she had only gotten Gentian Violet on her face.
“Wow!” Gong Xiangbin exclaid in shock upon turning his head her way, witnessing a beauty turned ghost.
“Who put Gentian Violet on her?” demanded He Jiuliang, staring at Qiu Ruiyun.
Qiu Ruiyun hastily waved his hands to clarify, “How could I put Gentian Violet on her face? It was Kang Mingzhu.”
“From now on we must avoid Kang Mingzhu,” murmured the group.
After confirming that her face wasn’t ruined, Tao Zhijie exhaled and with a hint of helplessness mixed with concern, he asked his junior sister, “Do you have a fever?”
“No,” Xie Wanying shook her head.
“Get so dication. Your swelling will likely lead to a fever,” Tao Zhijie said worried, pulling open a drawer to take out prescription paper and pen to write her a prescription, anwhile urging her, “Rest up at ho for the next couple of days.”
