The reason the gauze would stick to the wound was that the blood, having soaked into it and then dried, caused the adhesion, and at this point, soaking it in saline or iodophor could facilitate its removal.

Director Lv was even more at a loss for words and turned his head as if he hadn’t heard her, saying to the nurse, “Prepare the suture thread. Start with local anesthesia.”
“Lidocaine?” asked the nurse.
“Yes. Lidocaine doesn’t require a skin test,” Director Lv found his rhythm again in the conversation with the nurse, and said to the patient, “This wound is not deep, two stitches should suffice, don’t worry.”
“Xie Xie, Director Lv,” the female patient was glad to hear from the doctor that it wasn’t serious.
