“Hagrid, the truth is, over the last few days, I’ve been using so of the thods you taught to take care of the egg. Since it’s a Royal egg, it’s been eating up a lot of resources,” Alex begins to explain.
He shows Hagrid his [Royal Thornback Matriarch (Mutated) Egg] and the [Blood Mixture], which contains his own blood, [Powdered Erumpent Horn], [Murtlap Essence], [Glowing Fairy Wings], and a [Blood Essence].
“So, that’s what I’ve been doing. I got these ingredients from the Centaurs as compensation for protecting them against the Corruption,” Alex finishes his explanation.
Hagrid picks up the egg and carefully examines it, his eyes wide with admiration. “Lad, this thing looks just incredible—like a huge diamond. I’d say yer doin’ mighty fine. It won’t be too much longer fer it ta hatch. Usually, it takes a month after the egg is bred until it finally hatches. When yer got this egg, it was probably already a few weeks old. Matriarchs refuse to hand over their eggs to anyone, as they’re very soft and vulnerable early on, and fresh Royal eggs usually die within a few days if they don’t receive additional nourishnt. I think yer got about a week left, at most. Do yer best until then. I don’t think I can give ya much more advice; yer choice of nourishnt is more than suitable.”
Alex takes out his [Rotten Basilisk Heart] and begins to talk. “You know, I’ve heard spiders are afraid of Basilisks; they fear them like nothing else. I want to use this heart as nourishnt for the egg. Wouldn’t that be poetic revenge?”
Hagrid bursts into loud laughter, the kind Alex couldn’t have imagined. So of the items on Hagrid’s old, cluttered furniture even shake from the force of his laugh. He then lightly taps Alex on the back, causing Alex to sink down slightly under the imnse strength of the half-giant.
“I want to see that! That Basilisk be damned, I tell ya! However, we’ll need the help of Professor Snape to do this. Yer egg is close to hatchin’, lad; we’ve got no ti to lose. Follow !” Hagrid says, leaving his little hut and walking swiftly toward the castle.
Alex has to take twice as many steps to keep up with Hagrid, but his balanced stats make it easy.
Apart from STR, PHY, and maybe SPR, I’m probably superior in every other stat compared to Hagrid.
They enter the school, which looks completely empty and abandoned, likely because classes are in session and no students are wandering the halls.
Hagrid quickly leads him into the dungeons near the Slytherin Common Room. They pass by it and arrive at the potions corridor, entering the largest room. Hagrid is so familiar with the castle that he could probably find the way even with his eyes closed.
In his excitent, Hagrid rudely slams the door open. It crashes against the wall and breaks, landing on the floor with a loud thud.
“Ah, sorry ‘bout that, Professor Snape. Urgent business,” Hagrid says as he enters the classroom, closely followed by Alex.
Every student is staring at Hagrid in shock.
Alex takes a look around and sees that it’s the fourth-year class. He also spots nchi, who’s actually brewing the potion for everyone else to observe. She’s holding a ladle in her right hand, and the wand Tereza gave her in her left, focusing on the process and not very self-assured.
Is she that far already? No way! It’s been days!! How can she do this?
“Hagrid… not only do you disrupt my class, but you also do it in such a… barbaric way? Reparo!” Snape complains, waving his wand. The door instantly repairs itself, restoring it to its original condition within seconds.
“Now… what is it?! Follow ! You…” He glares at Harry and Ron, his voice icy. “One sound, and you’ll regret it.”
While Snape admonishes the Gryffindors for no apparent reason, Alex stands beside nchi.
“So, how’s it going? Are you really already brewing? I see you’re using the wand Tereza gave you,” Alex says with a smile.
“Yeah… I’m doing my best, getting constantly yelled at. Even the students feel sorry for ,” nchi responds with a weak smile.
Alex puts his hand on her shoulder. “Do your best!”
“Look, it’s the Heir. He’s casually talking with Professor Snape’s student. What arrogance—only he can do it like this, and she doesn’t even turn hostile like she does with others,” Alex hears a few students whispering, thanks to his high SNS.
“Lad, co, we’re talkin’ ‘bout this in the Professor’s office,” Hagrid calls over to Alex.
“Sure, Hagrid,” Alex says, following Hagrid into Snape’s office.
Ah! Wait a minute!
“Just a second,” he says, quickly walking over to Draco Malfoy. “Sorry to bother you, Draco, but could you contact your father again, if possible? I have so urgent business with him.”
“Yeah, I told him about you. He said he’ll contact you soon,” Draco responds, looking a bit surprised.
“Thank you. I owe you one!” Alex says, hurrying back toward Hagrid and waving at Draco.
As Alex enters Snape’s office, he notices everyone looking at Draco with respect, even so of the Gryffindors wondering why Draco caught Alex’s attention.
“So, what is it? Hurry up!” Snape hisses, his tone impatient.
Alex takes out his [Rotten Basilisk Heart], looks at Hagrid, and then presents it to Snape.
“Lad, you better explain it to the Professor. I’m not good at this thing,” Hagrid says, scratching his head.
“Huh?!” Alex exclaims loudly.
YOU were the one who led here.
“Hagrid, you continue to amaze . Well then, foreign wizard, it’s about that Basilisk Heart you stole from the Chamber of Secrets? Bold of you to assu I’d help you,” Snape says, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“The thing is, I’m planning to hatch this egg here,” Alex says, presenting his [Royal Thornback Matriarch (Mutated) Egg], acting like he has been carrying it under his clothes. “Essentially, I was thinking of sohow reversing the rotting process on the Basilisk Heart and then using it to produce so kind of nutrient-rich solution to feed to the egg. I figured there has to be a way to cure the Heart despite its bad condition,” he explains, his words sounding a bit desperate and disjointed, obviously not prepared to explain it to soone besides Hagrid.
To his surprise, Snape looks like he perfectly understood Alex’s explanation, seeming relieved that dealing with Alex is preferable to dealing with Hagrid.
“Not unfeasible. I could easily brew a potion to accomplish this. I have one more question, which is simply: why should I help you?” Snape responds, his tone dry and unimpressed.
“I’ll owe you one? Alternatively, I can pay you in Galleons or acquire so ingredients, like the [Acromantula Poison] I gave to nchi, to offer you as so sort of tuition fee,” Alex responds, trying to sound reasonable.
“I see. So, she got it from you. It looks like after your ‘tough guy act,’ which reminded of soone I hate very much, you’re beginning to reveal your true personality. You’re softer and more diligent than I thought, foreign wizard,” Snape says, his tone mocking as he looks at Alex.
“I don’t think being considerate and fair is sothing bad. My previous act was very childish; I can’t disagree. But I had my reasons for it,” Alex says, standing his ground.
“Indeed. I’m sowhat interested in helping you. I’ll need three days to brew the potion and one day to order the ingredients. The question is, can you pay for it? I’d say you need around 800 Galleons to create a potion strong enough to cure sothing as powerful as a Basilisk Heart. I’m afraid that’s more than your weekly pay will allow you to afford,” Snape tells Alex, his voice dripping with sarcasm, clearly not expecting Alex to agree.
“Tell you what, here are 1,000 Galleons. In addition, I’ll help you out if you need my assistance with various things. Can you order the ingredients right now? I need the potion soon because the egg will hatch within a week. Also, I need so sort of solution to turn the Heart into a liquid form so the egg can absorb it. It would be best if I could mix it with my own blood,” Alex says, ignoring Snape’s hostility. He hadn’t expected anything else from the man.
“You… surprise . Sure, we have a deal. I don’t get to brew such a potion every day. I’ll make sure nchi works especially hard on it,” Snape says, an evil grin spreading across his face.
Poor nchi… I’ll make it up to you.
Alex hands Snape the 1,000 Galleons, leaving him with 9,000.
“Now, get out,” Snape says, dismissing Hagrid and Alex.
As they turn to leave, Snape speaks up again. “Wait… take this!”
He hands Alex three bottles of potion. Alex takes a look at them, and the system displays them as [Superior Blood Replenishing Potion].
[Superior Blood Replenishing Potion]
World: Harry Potter / Wizarding World
Quality: Light Green
Effect: Increases the body’s blood regeneration by 200% and HP regeneration by 30% for 6 hours. The body needs three tis the amount of nourishnt during this ti, increasing hunger and weakening the user if they do not consu more food than usual, especially if this potion is taken for prolonged periods.
Note: A common Blood Replenishing Potion, brewed by a potion master, has been substantially improved from the standard recipe, increasing its efficiency by 100%.
“Thank you, Professor,” Alex says with a bright smile, causing Snape to turn around instantly, no longer looking at Alex or Hagrid, silently saying: “When the Potion is done, I’ll send an owl or sothing akin to it, like your friend nchi.”
“Sure,” Alex says not sure if he should laugh, as Snape seems to love and hate nchi at the sa ti, the situation almost comical. He then leaves the office and the classroom with Hagrid, looking one last ti towards nchi, and apologizes in his head.
