Alex’s heart pounds as he walks alongside Shepard. They leave the restaurant and reach an elevator in the main lobby, leading up to the rooms.
“Another elevator…” Alex mumbles, despite the exciting and unexpected situation he’s in.
“Heh, do you want to take the stairs instead?” she asks with a smile.
“It’s fine,” Alex replies, shrugging as he steps inside.
I’ll just avoid elevators when I’m back in the Realm… wait, if I want to leave my penthouse apartnt, then I also have to use a fucking elevator. Maybe using the stairs as training for a while isn’t such a bad idea…
Shepard joins him and steps in front of the elevator buttons—but doesn’t press them.
“Did you forget our room number; we’re all on the third floor,” Alex comnts, slightly amused.
Shepard turns around, places a finger on his lips, and grins. “As if I forgot, dummy. How about I change your opinion about elevators forever?”
“What do you —” Alex starts, but is cut off as Shepard presses her lips against his.

Unable to hold back, Alex returns the kiss. Despite his eagerness, he still feels like he’s lost the initiative. He stares into Shepard’s eyes, so close to his own.

He continues to kiss her with growing intensity, fully imrsed—until he suddenly tenses up. He hears the elevator door open and glances sideways, spotting a surprised Dr. Chakwas, her hands raised to her mouth in shock.

“... Sorry for bothering you. I’ll take the stairs,” she says, quickly walking away.

Alex sighs and silently presses the elevator button.
“Wasn’t so bad, was it?” Shepard says with a grin. “Certainly morable!”
“Yes… it started out nice, but the ending will haunt for life,” Alex mutters, clearly embarrassed.
They arrive on the third floor and head toward Shepard’s room.
With a quick motion of her left hand, her omni-tool activates, unlocking the door. They quickly step inside.
The hotel room is fairly luxurious, though not particularly extravagant.
They both sit down on the bed, and Shepard begins to speak. “You know, when I first heard about your story, I could only shake my head. It was laughable, carrying that giant slab of tal into actual fights. To my surprise, you were anything but disappointing. I have never seen soone as fearso as you on the battlefield. You contributed to the mission as much as I… maybe more. I am quite grateful. When you took Saren down in a single surprise attack, I have to admit, I was really impressed. What Udina said sounds cruel and makes you look like a brutal monster, but he’s not wrong… even so, I just think it’s funny because your reputation couldn’t be more inaccurate. You are quite different in reality.”
She laughs. “You’ve saved so many people, risked your own life, and your personality is exactly the opposite of what people think.”
“I’m surprised you even followed into my room. I figured you were into gentler and eker won,” she teases.
“I… I guess that’s not the case… I have a thing for strong won, I suppose,” Alex admits. “You can even call a fan.”
He then pulls out his old treasure, [Commander Shepard’s Dog Tag], the one he got after the Tutorial mission for practically nothing, as it requires 5 LUK to equip.
He hands it to her, looking slightly embarrassed. “I guess you could call a fanboy… bought this off the black market. Supposedly, it’s genuine.”
Shepard’s eyes widen as she grabs the dog tag, examining it closely. “I lost this one after Torfan. It is indeed genuine. You bought it? How much did you pay?”
“4500 F—Credits, Commander,” Alex responds.
“You like that much, huh? Well, you made it to where I am… You’re now a Spectre, and I’m no longer your commander, so no need to call that anymore.”
“Jane…” Alex says, looking a little embarrassed.
“Exactly, Alex. Now let find out if you’re really overcompensating with that sword of yours!” she says with a grin, then begins undressing him wildly.
“I am not!!! I’ll prove it to you,” Alex fires back, swiftly—yet carefully—undressing her in return.
Finally, they both sit on the bed, completely naked. Alex gently pulls her down and kisses her again.
Lying fully exposed on top of her, watching her slightly flushed expression beneath him, drives Alex completely wild.

Add to that his long, intense night with Shepard, and he ends up sleeping for more than twelve hours.
When he finally wakes, he realizes he’s alone. Shepard isn’t next to him. Despite her absence, he can still catch her lingering scent in the sheets.
As he sits up, he notices a notification. Activating his omni-tool, he opens the ssage.
"This is not a permanent goodbye. Until the Reapers are dealt with, we will et again for sure. Since you illegally bought my dog tag that I lost, I’ve taken yours in return. As a promise to et again, you can have both of mine."
Alex blinks, then spots sothing sparkling on the pillow she used. He quickly picks it up—two dog tags, lightly reflecting the ambient light. As he grabs them, they glow faintly in his hands, and the system responds.
He imdiately notices the item has been recognized—not as two separate dog tags, but as one combined piece of equipnt.

It changed into a trinket!! This is nice! What luck… I can finally get rid of my [Destiny Watch]. I can still use it on occasion to check the ti or use its effect, but it’s simply a waste to wear it for the entirety of a mission. This item is way more useful.

This was a hell of a ride… I won’t forget what happened… especially last night.
