"Who should we send into battle, according to your counsel?" The Light God Emperor’s authoritative voice echoed in everyone’s ears. He sat upright on the throne, his expression calm, untroubled by sorrow or pleasure, making it difficult to glean his thoughts. His deep-set eyes, in particular, appeared like a black hole ready to swallow everything in sight.
The ministers started whispering amongst themselves, a flurry of discussions ensuing.
"Your Majesty, I volunteer to fight!"
A general clad in silver armor, hulking and tall like an iron tower, stepped forward, his voice booming as he announced himself.
A thick battle intent emanated from him, filling the air with a strong scent of blood, dyeing the Void red and significantly dropping the temperature in the grand hall.
It was hard to imagine how many lives one had to take to cultivate such intense killing intent.
Sounds of frantic swallowing echoed through the grand hall.
As everyone’s gaze shifted towards the general in the center of the hall, an apparent sense of fear mixed with subtle admiration flickered in their eyes.
This general was Li Tianwen, a Supre Saint Realm martial artist and the Great General of the Light God’s Divine Court. He had earned the epithet ’God of Slaughter.’ His nature was ruthless and brutal; anyone who fell into his hands t a torturous end.
He, along with Nie Feng, who was stationed at the Divine Gate, were hailed as the two pillars of defense for the Light God’s Divine Court.
Many ministers who had intended to offer their advice were stopped dead in their tracks by Li Tianwen’s notorious reputation and promptly shut their mouths.
"General Tianwen, you are to counter the Ghost Ming Sect in the east; do not involve yourself in matters concerning the alien races. The East Border is only secure when you hold the fort," the Light God Emperor said after a brief mont of contemplation, shaking his head.
The Ghost Ming Sect was a power more threatening than the alien races and a sworn enemy of the Light God’s Divine Court. The two powers had fought nurous wars, leading to constant instability on the borders.
Only in recent years, with Li Tianwen leading the army in the East Border, had the Divine Court managed to find so asure of stability.
The Emperor did not want to risk throwing the East Border territories back into chaos because Li Tianwen had gone off to face the alien races.
Disappointnt flashed in Li Tianwen’s murderous eyes. He saluted respectfully and returned to his seat, closing his eyes to ditate.
"Your Majesty, since General Li is stationed in the East Border, why not let General Nie lead the troops from the Divine Gate to counter the alien races? Firstly, General Nie is exceptionally strong, and secondly, they are closer to the alien races," Wang Shou stepped forward and reasoned logically.
The Light God Emperor’s expression subtly changed but quickly returned to normal, unnoticed by anyone. His fingers drumd on the table, producing a rhythmic sound. Those familiar with him knew that this decisive Emperor was hesitating.
Why would he hesitate? It was rely a matter of dispatching a general into battle, which for him was as simple as giving an order.
The empire currently has no other great generals to deploy; he’s the only choice. But he is about to make a breakthrough. What if this delays that chance... the Light God Emperor mused to himself, his eyes flickering with divine light. After sizing up everyone in the grand hall and weighing his options, he could not find a suitable person. He finally gestured and said, "Send the orders! Appoint Nie Feng as the Vanquishing Marauder General, commanding an army of a million Divine Soldiers to combat the alien races!"
"Your Majesty is wise!"
The civil and military officials all bowed in salute. With Nie Feng as the commander, they were all thoroughly convinced.

The Void twisted, and a figure erged shrouded in billowing black mist, its face hidden. Only a pair of black wings were visible, like those of a devil from hell.
As the dominant power in the king-level domain, the Light God’s Divine Court transmitted information quickly. Orders dispatched in the morning would arrive by evening. That very sa afternoon, Nie Feng, far away at the Divine Gate, received the deploynt edict from the Divine Court.
Inside a courtyard, Nie Feng, wearing a white robe, held the deploynt edict in his hand, his expression complex.

Troops clad in white armor and brandishing sharp weapons quickly assembled, hovering in the Void. Their terrifying aura spread in all directions, causing heaven and earth to tremble.
"Move out!"
Nie Feng slowly ascended into the sky, holding his gleaming war spear. The white robe he wore transford into white armor, complented by a white cape, enhancing his heroic stature.
The faint intent of his spear spread out, overwhelming heaven and earth!
RUMBLE!
The Divine Gate began to quiver. Hundreds of structures rose up, and from them launched hundreds of radiant Flying Boats, each imbued with profound Formations.
On each Flying Boat, there were ten large cannons, emitting a pale blue light that sent chills down the spines of onlookers.
The million Divine Soldiers orderly boarded the Flying Boats.
Right after everyone had boarded, the Formations outside the Flying Boats shimred, transforming into streaks of flowing light. In the blink of an eye, they beca small dots in the sky, their speed in no way inferior to a Reaching the Holy Realm martial artist.
The Qin Empire was completely oblivious to the Light God’s Divine Court dispatching troops to support them. They were mobilizing the entire nation’s power to resist the second wave of the Scorpion Tribe’s attack.
In the vast northwestern territories, apart from the combatants, not a soul was in sight.
