"No!" The Great Elder trembled, tears of despair streaming down his face. But the instant they left his eyes, the intense heat evaporated them.

The explosions of the firebirds resounded through heaven and earth. The roiling sea of fire, several hundred to a thousand zhang high, illuminated the sky crimson.
The fiery wave, like a waterfall, engulfed the Great Elder, extinguishing his life.
