By the ti Qin Wudao and his party returned to the Imperial Capital, Hua Tuo, Sun Simiao, and Zhang Zhongjing were already waiting at the front gate of the Imperial Physician’s Court.

In addition to them, there was the Jade Snow Gentleman, dressed in a long white gown, appearing like a fairy descended to the mortal world, her delicate face etched with worry.

By midday, thousands of figures traversed the sky. The aura they unintentionally revealed was potent enough to tear the Void and shake the heavens.

"Your Majesty!"

Once everyone had landed, Hua Tuo and the others stepped forward to pay their respects.

"Father, what’s wrong with you?" A fragrant scent wafted over as the Jade Snow Gentleman rushed to the Jade Monarch. Seeing her father, pale and his body festering, her heart twisted in agony, and tears stread down her face.

"I’m fine!" The Jade Monarch’s pale face showed a hint of doting affection.

"Imperial Physician Hua, can you cure him?" Qin Wudao asked hurriedly. His future father-in-law’s safety was at stake, making him sowhat nervous, despite his great trust in the dical skills of Hua Tuo and the others.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" Hua Tuo replied. He looked up at the Jade Monarch, and his heart tightened upon sensing the disaster energy. He quickly stepped forward to take his pulse.

"Disaster energy has entered the body!"

"And it has already invaded his soul; his life hangs by a thread!"

"Such vicious disaster energy, only slightly weaker than the curse of the Great Dao!"

The three Imperial Physicians offered their diagnoses in turn, their eyes shining as if observing a rare treasure. For physicians, the path to advancing their dical arts involved treating all sorts of patients and accumulating experience. This was their first encounter with a patient afflicted by disaster energy. If they could cure him, it would undoubtedly be of imnse help to their dical careers.

"Is it... is it that serious?" The expressions of the Immortality Mountain powerhouses changed drastically upon hearing this. If it’s only slightly weaker than the Great Dao’s curse, doesn’t that an affliction by this disaster energy is an incurable ailnt of the sa caliber?

"Three Imperial Physicians, I beg you, you must cure my father!" The Jade Snow Gentleman’s pretty face turned pale with fright, and she grew flustered, pleading repeatedly.

Her words, however, thoroughly alard the three Imperial Physicians.

Who was the Jade Snow Gentleman? She was the future Empress of the Great Qin Saint’s Court! For the future Empress to use such pleading words to them... that was an offense against imperial dignity, punishable by beheading!

"Please be assured, Princess, we can certainly cure him!" Hua Tuo patted his chest and assured her. Perhaps affliction by disaster energy was incurable in the eyes of others, but for them, it rely required so ti.

After all, they had once broken the curse of the Great Dao!

He then glanced at Qin Wudao, saw that he did not appear angry, and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. Cupping his hands, he said, "Your Majesty, we will go and treat the patient now!"

"Then I shall leave it to you!" Qin Wudao said with a smile.

After bowing once more, Hua Tuo and the others helped the Jade Monarch into the Imperial Physician’s Court and closed the hall doors.

What followed was a lengthy treatnt process.

「In the blink of an eye, six hours had passed.」

Just as everyone was anxiously waiting, the tightly closed doors slowly opened. Hua Tuo erged, dragging his weary body, but with a relieved smile. "Reporting to Your Majesty," he announced, "the patient has been cured!"

A closer look would reveal a gleam of excitent in his eyes; clearly, he had made significant gains during the treatnt process! Indeed, only a breakthrough in dical skills could so invigorate soone as devoted to the art of healing as he was.

"Imperial Physician Hua, can we go in to see him?" Qin Wudao heaved a sigh of relief and asked.

"Yes, but the patient has only just been pulled from danger. Not too many people should enter, and they shouldn’t stay too long," Hua Tuo replied.

"I understand!" Qin Wudao nodded, taking only the Jade Snow Gentleman with him into the Imperial Physician’s Court.

As they stepped past the hall doors, a rich dicinal fragrance assailed their nostrils, instantly refreshing their spirits, dispelling their fatigue, and allowing their entire bodies and minds to relax.

When they reached the central grand hall, they saw the Jade Monarch lying on the sickbed, with Zhang Zhongjing and Sun Simiao finishing up their work.

"Father, how do you feel now?" the Jade Snow Gentleman asked anxiously, sitting on the edge of the sickbed.

"Much better! This old life of mine has been saved!" the Jade Monarch said with a smile.

"Father, what on earth happened? With your cultivation level, how could you have been injured?" the Jade Snow Gentleman asked.

Hearing this, a grave expression, tinged with worry, appeared in the Jade Monarch’s eyes. He looked up at Qin Wudao and said solemnly, "Next, I am going to tell you so secrets that no outsider must ever know!"

What could it be that made him so cautious?

Qin Wudao, sowhat curious, waved his hand, signaling Sun Simiao and Zhang Zhongjing to withdraw.

The Jade Monarch still seed a bit uneasy. He took out a formation diagram from his storage space and forcefully tore it, producing a dazzling golden light.

Instantly, a golden formation enveloped the hall, isolating all external forces and creating an independent space.

"Do you know what truly happened at the end of the ancient era?" the Jade Monarch asked in a grave tone.

Both Qin Wudao and the Jade Snow Gentleman shook their heads.

Never mind the turbulent events of the late ancient era; even historical records from the early and middle ancient periods were exceedingly scarce, as if a civilizational fault line had appeared, erased by so great power.

"After the middle period of the ancient era, the Primitive Continent suffered a terrifying great calamity!"

"Countless Immortals perished during this great calamity; even the Ten Supres who stood above all other Immortals could not escape their doom!"

"By the late ancient era, all immortal fortune was lost, and all Immortals were annihilated!"

"And all of this..." The Jade Monarch paused, a hint of fear in his eyes, then said in a low voice, "The continent’s descent into the Dharma-Ending Age was not a natural occurrence. It was orchestrated by the Great Dao!"

"What?" Qin Wudao was greatly shocked.

However, he quickly cald down, a keen light glinting in his eyes.

If the Great Dao was the mastermind behind the scenes, then all the strange occurrences on the continent could be explained. Only the Great Dao could cause the annihilation of all Immortals and sever the path to immortality! Only the Great Dao could bring about the downfall of the Ancient Heavenly Court and intercept the karmic rit of the Yellow Spring Supre Being for establishing the Underworld!

"It seems you’ve already guessed it," the Jade Monarch remarked, slightly surprised by Qin Wudao’s change in expression, but he didn’t dwell on it.

After all, the very existence of the Great Qin Saint’s Court was itself shrouded in mystery. In his heart, Qin Wudao was also a mysterious young man!

"Indeed! When the experts of the Great Qin Saint’s Court underwent their tribulations and were targeted by the Heavenly Tribulation, I vaguely suspected it," Qin Wudao nodded, then asked in confusion, "Why would it do this?"

The Great Dao is formless, the Great Dao is also unfeeling! Yet, the Great Dao of the Primitive Continent has defied this principle. It not only instigated the great calamity but also actively intervened in the continent’s affairs, even suppressing the Great Qin Saint’s Court. It’s like a hidden chess master, profoundly cunning, with heaven-defying thods, playing an astonishingly grand ga!

"It... wants to condense a physical body!" The Jade Monarch’s voice began to tremble.

"This deduction was first proposed by the Original Supre!"

"To prevent the Great Dao’s sche, the assembled Immortals launched the ’War of Heavenly Punishnt,’ but the outco was unsatisfactory, ending in a pyrrhic victory for the Great Dao!"

"That war shattered the continent’s very origin!"

"Consequently, the Primitive Continent entered the Dharma-Ending Age and only slowly recovered after nine eras!"

"And before the ’War of Heavenly Punishnt’ erupted, all the Immortals worked together in their divinations. They foresaw the coming of one destined to face this calamity. Thus, each of them severed a wisp of their Immortal Dao’s Origin Power, which they then coalesced to form the Immortality Mountain..."
