Among the Five Guardians, she was the youngest.
One day, so sixty thousand years ago, when she was still a child, the previous Fox Guardian, her master, riddled with injuries, had endured excruciating pain to bestow all their life’s cultivation upon her.
After the transference of power was complete, her master, covered in blood, departed from this world forever.

"I beseech the Grand Ancestor!" Zhang Zehan suddenly roared. He threw a Formation talisman from his robes. Imbued with a faint spatial power, it tore open a spatial passage in the Void above his head, connecting to an unknown region.

"Saint, do you intend to intervene in this battle?" Lin Ao Zu asked, his voice heavy.
"A fourth-level mustard-seed world... who wouldn’t covet such a prize?" the Impermanence Saint said softly. His voice, though not loud, resonated between heaven and earth, lingering like a low hum from the firmant. "Hand over the fourth-level mustard-seed world, and this Saint shall depart imdiately!"
"Impossible!" Lin Ao Zu rejected instantly, without a second thought.
Hand over the fourth-level mustard-seed world? Wouldn’t that be aiding the enemy?
"Then it’s not up to you!" The Impermanence Saint’s expression turned icy, his eyes glinting with malice, all traces of benevolence gone. His Saintly might unfurled, Rhys in Dao filled the air, and the Void itself trembled violently, threatening to collapse into utter Voidness.

Everyone present, including Lin Ao Zu—be they Semi-Saint Martial Artists or those at the Reaching the Holy Realm, even the young prodigies hiding several hundred li away—coughed up a mouthful of blood, their auras weakening.
