Now reading: Chapter 1018 - 1018 606 Battle for the Bridge of Human God from Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God, a Fantasy novel by Eternal Night Knight.

1018: Chapter 606: Battle for the Bridge of Human God 1018: Chapter 606: Battle for the Bridge of Human God Each Tower War Chariot had a Heavy Crossbow Vehicle mounted at both the front and the rear, with ballista turrets that could rotate 360 degrees, leaving no blind spots for attack.

Their equipnt truly lived up to the war chariot’s na.

The crossbow arrows shot by these Heavy Crossbow Vehicles were as thick as an adult’s arm and asured three and a half ters long—true behemoths.

When they struck stone city walls, they didn’t bounce off or crumble but easily pinned into the structures, penetrating a dozen centiters deep.

Even so trees as thick as a person’s waist were pierced through directly when hit.

There was no hope for any living flesh caught in their path.

The heavily armored cavalry, once they had broken through magical shields, could skewer both rider and horse together in one go.

For clustered infantry with excellent positioning, stringing them together like human skewers wasn’t a difficult task.

Even the massive waves stirred by the Lizard Queen couldn’t prevent the penetration of these Heavy Crossbow Vehicle arrows.

Hundreds of blossoms of blood burst forth within the waves, quickly staining the crests blood-red.

Hundreds of bodies floated up, carried forward by the mighty waves.

Most of these bodies weren’t Lizardfolk, but rather short, stocky amphibious beings with green skin and massive frog-like heads known as Mad Frogn—a common sentient monster race in the marshes, amusingly dubbed Swamp Goblins by so, for their similarities with Goblins in temperant—they were innately evil, sadistic, and tended to overwhelm their enemies with sheer numbers, showing their true colors when faced with stronger opposition.

Their incredible reproductive rate, akin to that of frogs, contributed to this—their larval offspring being much larger than typical frog tadpoles, devouring everything from insects, small fish, and shrimp to grass and roots.

The marshlands were a paradise for their propagation.

Every marsh was invariably shrouded in their loud croaking at night.

However, it was rare for them to claim ownership of the marshlands; they were mostly subordinates or servants to other amphibious intelligent races, a reality dictated by their lower intelligence.

In this, they were on par with Goblins and Gnolls, with an average intelligence of seven or eight points—not foolish, but definitely not clever.

In the Tun Marsh’s Lizard Court, they existed as cannon fodder servant races, naturally positioned at the front lines to fall as the first major victims of the Conqueror Army’s massive deploynt of the Heavy Ballista.

“All personnel, find nearby cover, stand firm and brace for the assault of the flood,” commanded the mid-to-high-ranking officers of the Conqueror Army.

There was no need for their command; facing the onrushing flood, everyone instinctively did so.

Under the inertia of the terrain and deliberate manipulation by magic, the flood reached an extre velocity.

The ballistas on the Tower War Chariots managed only one shot before the floodwaters were upon them, striking heavily against the Bridge of Human God.

The flood stirred by the Lizard Queen was extraordinary.

Combined with the Conqueror Army’s migration intent and thirst for victory, and the collaboration with the God of the Road, Mount Dakor, to build the Bridge of Human God, it too was out of the ordinary.

Fully integrated with the surrounding terrain, it wasn’t five hundred ters long but rather twice as wide as the riverbed.

As previously ntioned, the course of the Wild Border River was forcibly delineated by the Stormhorn Mountains and the underground remnants of the Grey Watchers, making it the lowest point in the Goblin Margins and one of the reasons why the Lizard Queen could easily stir up a flood many ters high around her forces.

The Wild Border River was essentially a deep, extensive trench.

The elongated bridge span significantly raised the Bridge of Human God at both ends.

It appeared flush with the ground but was actually elevated several ters above the river.

This design not only facilitated smoother passage but also guarded against floods.

The only downside was the increased cost of bridge construction, which was the least of concerns for the Bridge of Human God.

Thus, the surface of the Bridge of Human God was almost level with the peak of the giant wave stirred by the Lizard Queen.

Bang!

A change in quantity could cause a change in quality—the utmost yin and soft water, when gathered together in sufficient volu, could unleash terrifying power.

The peak of the giant wave striking the Bridge of Human God could only be described as earth-shattering.

Not only was the Bridge of Human God and its occupants shaken, but the land on both sides of the bridge shook as well, even showing cracks.

It appeared as if the Bridge of Human God wasn’t isolated but tightly connected to the surrounding land, especially in the direction from which the Conqueror Army had arrived.

The newly opened Conqueror Path acted like a massive invisible chain, tightly anchoring the Bridge of Human God.

In contrast, the other side, which lacked a road, appeared much weaker, only the Pioneer Army of the Founders who had crossed earlier seed like a large nail, firmly secured in place.

As a bridge of faith and conviction, the Bridge of Human God surprisingly beca a perfect defensive tool in the hands of the Conqueror Army.

Their faith and conviction provided continuous blessings to the Bridge of Human God.

To truly destroy this bridge, one must first demolish the overall will of the Conqueror Army.

And when facing life-threatening danger, even ordinary people could unleash an unimaginable desire to survive, which too was a form of faith and conviction.
