Chapter 1272: Chapter 690 Awake in the Human World_3

There’s no such thing as a free lunch falling from the sky. If such a good thing hits you on the head, your first thought should be whether it’s a pitfall waiting for you to jump in, dragging you into endless suffering in Hell.

“Haransen Old Man, your analysis is absolutely spot on this ti. We must consider this matter carefully, whether it’s for securing greater wealth or for safeguarding our own lives. Poverty is not the scariest thing; what’s terrifying is losing even the opportunity to remain poor.”

“If the other party truly possesses such overwhelming business skills, then money would indeed be better off earning more money in this person’s hands. After all, most of us here have no talent for comrce. Just one water channel has already left us in disarray. Even if we were really given a few thousand or even tens of thousands of Golden Lions, it wouldn’t take long for us to squander it all.”

“That’s true. Honestly, if I were handed that much Golden Lions, I wouldn’t even know what to do with it!”

“Foolish! Placing money in soone else’s hands is the least secure option. It has to stay in your own hands. I’d rather leave it to rust under my bed than let soone else hold onto it. Who knows, they might just run off with it.”

“We know far too little about this gentleman to put significant trust in him.”

“You’re all worrying too much, too early. Everything for now is limited to verbal promises. Let’s wait until Jason cos back from Susar, and if that gentleman can arrive here tomorrow on ti for the eting, we can discuss it further then. For now, what we need to do is go ho and get so sleep.”

“Ha… With this dream of millions of Golden Lions, you think you can even sleep tonight?”

“Who says I can’t sleep? Maybe I’ll sleep even better.”

“Alright, disperse, everyone. Let’s et here again tomorrow morning before sunrise. By then, we’ll know whether it’s true or false.”

The majority of Nimiel Village’s residents gradually dispersed. However, so who weren’t the least bit sleepy lingered around Haransen’s tall tower, chatting with each other. Others who initially left quickly returned, so even bringing simple bedding rolls or benches.

There was no helping it—very few people could sleep soundly while dreaming of millions of Golden Lions. Most of them were too restless and found they couldn’t fall asleep. Rather than struggle, they chose to chat with others while waiting.

Setting aside the insomnia plaguing Nimiel Village, caused by Gaven, let’s return to Gaven and Miss Gao Ser, who had teleported away from there.

“Where is this now?” Miss Gao Ser only needed one glance to determine they were no longer outside Susar City. Despite a silhouette of a massive city faintly visible in the distance, she knew it wasn’t Susar because she couldn’t spot the towering Purple Dragon Palace or the incessant lights that burned through the night.

The city in the distance had entirely fallen into darkness, asleep. Wandering around in the dead of night, like the two of them were doing, wasn’t common. It was only because Gaven was skilled and daring enough to traverse Felen’s night, which was ten tis more dangerous than the day.

The pairs of eyes that lit up the mont the teleportation ended served as proof. However, the gazes lasted less than three seconds before countless whimpering sounds echoed, and the creatures turned and fled as though they had encountered a far more powerful beast.

Miss Gao Ser was well aware of her own abilities and knew she could not possibly command such fear. The reason must be the young man beside her. These beasts of the wilderness had sensed the danger emanating from him and scurried away in panic.

Whenever she was with this young man, Miss Gao Ser felt as if she had gone back ten years, to the start of her life as an adventurer, when everything was fresh and new.

This young man, nearly half her age, was leading her into a brand-new world, unfolding a new chapter of adventure in a way entirely different from before. Yet she couldn’t turn it down, because it brought her a revitalizing sense of excitent and vitality, along with bountiful wealth and accomplishnts.

“This is Arabey City,” Gaven answered. “I need to visit another collaborator here.”

“At this hour? There’s no chance we’ll be able to enter the city, right?” Miss Gao Ser glanced at the city, already fast asleep. Even with Gaven’s unique status, the likelihood of rousing the guards to open the city gates was slim. And a city like this was sure to have City Defense Maze Locks, making teleportation into it impossible.

“The collaborator I’m eting isn’t in the city. They have a private castle estate. We’ll discuss more as we go.” Gaven cast a Flying Spell on both himself and Miss Gao Ser, and as they flew forward, he added, “I’m planning to entrust the glass water lamp business to you. What’s your opinion on that?”

“Entrust it to ?” Miss Gao Ser involuntarily slowed down mid-air. Though pleasantly surprised, she replied with a wry smile, “That’s an investnt worth millions. I couldn’t possibly co up with that kind of money.”

“What I an is a joint venture. The collective of Nimiel Village, myself, and you would each hold shares. Nimiel Village will contribute the water channel, while I’ll provide the funding. You’ll only need to handle managent, operations, and sales. We’ll split the profits according to our shares.” Gaven patiently explained, “The initial investnt won’t be as large as you think. Even twenty to thirty thousand would be impressive. As for constructing the factory, I won’t be sending in gnolls. You can hire workers directly in Nimiel Village. Use the bio-cent made from Boom Boom Arowana Shrimp to build bricks on-site and help test its properties along the way.”

The chain inns along the Longroad had already proven Miss Gao Ser’s knack for business. Her deft and graceful skills made her a brilliant salesperson.

When it ca to sothing as novel as glass water lamps, the key wasn’t production at the start but developing a market. If they couldn’t sell the lamps, even producing a surplus would an nothing.

But as long as the goods sold well, even without a factory, Nimiel Village’s current setup could handle mass production. They rely needed to order appropriate glass containers and fill them with water from the glowing water channel.
