Chapter 1432: Chapter 744: The First Treasure
“Impossible.” Giharin shook his head firmly and said, “The Vein Sealing Technique mainly targets ore veins; it rely fixes the state of objects without truly halting the passage of ti. Those creatures sealed within remain unchanged during the seal, but the mont the seal is lifted, ti will catch up with them instantaneously.
The instant the seal is lifted is also the mont of their death.
During the seal, they are motionless and even unconscious, making it utterly pointless.
Ti is the most challenging barrier to overco, whether in the past or the future.
Only the most insane would dare attempt such a thing.”
Gaven nodded involuntarily, understanding deeply. He was the madman attempting to traverse ti; even with the protection of the Tears of Sulun and the Gate of the Starry Sky as the path, he still faced twists and turns, nearly failing.
“Guessing is futile, let’s go and see for ourselves. Maybe it’s automated mining equipnt crafted by the dwarves here, activating automatically once the seal was lifted.” Gray Dwarf Chieftain Yuriu, a practical man, took the lead and walked into the depths of the passage.
“There is such a possibility.” Everyone nodded involuntarily again. If it were purely chanical equipnt, it would make sense.
If there were no corrosion or oxidation, materials like steel wouldn’t be affected even if the passage of ti ca knocking. Only flesh and blood cannot withstand the pure assault of ti.
“Stone spikes? So many stone spikes!”
“Can stone spikes grow to such a size?”
“Ordinary stone spikes certainly cannot grow this large, but don’t forget where we are. The gigantification law over the Giant Plains can also cover this place. If they are gigantified, wouldn’t they be of massive body types?”
“The passages here are so imnse, not just for giants, but left from their mining process.”
“That doesn’t seem right; stone spikes belong to elental creatures, not those with bloodlines. Can gigantification affect them?”
“This is from the level of laws, not bloodlines, so for it to take effect on elental creatures is not surprising.”
“To think our dwarven use of stone spikes for mining can trace back to the Supre Shanata period.”
“The era of Supre Shanata is hailed as the most glorious age of the Northern Dwarves for a reason.”
“Congratulations, my lord; this is your first treasure unearthed from the Kingdom of Supre Shanata. You have acquired a batch of the finest ore miners, capable of tirelessly mining for you. What you need to offer in return is the slag produced during slting and the air mixed with tallic dust, which is their favorite food. However, you’ll need a group of dwarves to help manage them.”
“Can Gray Dwarves also do it?”
“You’ll have to ask Chieftain Yuriu about that.”
“I’m not sure on this matter, for our clan has never used stone spikes before. I can try it.”
Not far ahead, they found the sound’s originator.
It was a most unique creature.
Its body resembled a rough black stone pillar covered in blunt spikes, with a varying number of hamr-shaped tentacle arms, at least four and sotis seven or eight, depending on size.
These hamr-shaped tentacle arms served as both arms and legs, dragging it forward.
It has only one organ, akin to a gaping mouth occupying the entire front side. Turning around reveals it is not a mouth but a deep eye, glowing earth-yellow inside, with the periter adorned with fine blunt spikes resembling eyelashes.
When it stares blankly at you, rather than nacing, it projects a kind of unimposing innocence.
The sound Gaven and others heard earlier was not the roar of these creatures called stone spikes but the hamr-like arms striking the walls or ores.
This was no clash between an egg and rock.
Fragnts scattered were iron ore, not the hamr-shaped tentacle arms.
Their owners were no flesh and blood; at least externally, all appeared as hard rock, especially the hamrhead of those tentacle arms, incredibly strong, exhibiting a steel-like gray-blue sheen.
The stone spikes varied in size, so with a columnar body akin to a crouching dwarf, their four hamr-shaped tentacle arms spreading to human height in dium size.
Others, as tall as hobgoblins, stretched to over four ters when the arms extended.
There were also those as large as hobgoblin giants, spanning over seven ters with their arm span.
Their movents were sluggish. Even those with eight hamr-shaped tentacle arms rarely struck iron ore simultaneously with two. However, their power was astounding, with even modest mid-sized ones easily breaking off small chunks of iron ore, let alone the large and extra-large ones smashing whole patches down each ti.
They seed unware of fatigue, swinging their hamr-shaped tentacle arms slowly yet resolutely, continuously striking the surrounding iron ore rock layers.
This was an elental creature known as the stone spike, their nature very akin to the Earth Elent, born from the Earth Elental Plane, possessing immortal life, thus naturally unaffected by the negative impacts of the Vein Sealing Technique.
