The terrifying tongues of fla had also dimd, incapable of harming Gaven and his companions in the slightest.
The spiritual body lacked Fla Immunity, but as long as they were within the Ether Plane, without entering the Material Plane, the physical flas couldn’t harm them in the Spirit World.
"We have twenty-three minutes, stay close to , and never turn a complete one hundred eighty degrees. Doing so might plunge you into the deep ether. When changing directions, only pivot up to ninety degrees," Katherine reminded them.
With that, she led the way toward the burning Central Granary. It felt peculiar; even in the blazing world of flas, Gaven and his companions’ view was severely restricted, able to see only about seventeen or eighteen ters ahead before everything beca a blurry mist. As they moved forward, the mist parted, reminiscent of exploring the dark while holding a torch.
This was dictated by the nature of the Spirit World, an ever-changing state, particularly the shallow ether, which could be viewed as the gap between the Material Plane and the Ether Plane, changing with the Material Plane and those spiritual bodies.
If spiritual bodies were present and entered the shallow ether, this world would bloom into existence.
If there were no spiritual bodies present, then the shallow ether was considered nonexistent, only the separate Material and Ether planes.
In essence, as Gaven and his companions progressed, the shallow ether appeared and disappeared constantly, behind them a kaleidoscopic world followed, that was the deep ether, with colorful pools acting as portals to various other worlds.
The fiery red led to the Fire Elental Plane.
The deep blue led to the Water Elental Plane.
The earthen yellow led to the Earth Elental Plane.
The colorless passage led through the Air Elental Plane.
The iridescent paths led through other material planes, potentially other areas of the Material Plane.
The destinations of the deep ether portals were random, either set pre-determined or intensely elentally concentrated locations with strong planar characteristics, like the Flastorm centers or surging magma pools in the Fire Elental Plane, the whirlpools in the Water Elental Plane, or the storm eyes in the Air Elental Plane, and so on.
In short, without sufficient power, one should not use the ether plane’s color pools lightly, as no one knows where you might end up next mont or what challenges you might face, with the possibility of a warm welco being vastly outweighed by the likelihood of combat or harsh environnts.
Ether Portal exploration was not part of Gaven and his companions’ agenda today; their focus was mainly on the Central Granary, engulfed in roaring flas.
"The Mist Barrier here has been completely destroyed," Katherine stated with absolute certainty.
"Was it destroyed by a spell before the fire, or did it succumb to the fire?" Gaven inquired.
The result was the sa, but the nature of it was different.
There are multiple ways to dismantle a Mist Barrier, with the Nine Rings Spell being just the simplest and most violent thod.
Destructive magic or natural disasters impacting the entire area, especially the covered area, can also dismantle it, such as earthquakes or Legendary Magic.
If the entire city ceased to exist, how could the Mist Barrier covering it remain unscathed?
The high concentration of fire elents created by the Central Granary fire had completely altered the elent balance, powerful enough to destroy many things.
"It’s impossible to determine, though in an environnt with a fire protection barrier, burning to such an extent suggests a high probability of pre-emptive suppression," Katherine cautiously replied.
"Are the vents here of magical nature, or are they physical?" Gaven asked Shepherd Janira.
There was a reason to ask this question.
They were already deep inside the Central Granary, and the fire was not diminished compared to areas with good ventilation, and was even more intense, indicating a significant influx of fresh air here.
If the vents were of a physical nature, it would be logical, but if magical and part of the Mist Barrier, it would raise a new question: where did the air feeding the fire co from?
"Magical in nature, they should have collapsed along with the Mist Barrier, which is the second line of fire protection here, ant to deal with fires following a Mist Barrier collapse. Once the air here is burned out, the fire will gradually extinguish, preserving most of the grain,"
Janira said somberly, "There is a second wind entrance here, or you might say another entrance."
"Sothing’s off about the cave over here; it seems freshly dug," the Dog Demon loudly warned from the side.
