If Withering Branch Monsters were the infantry of the Withering Army, Vine Creatures were self-destructive control units, then Withering Needle Monsters were long-range units, able to shoot needles from tens of ters below the city, attacking enemies on the walls.
Don’t underestimate these needles for being wooden and relatively close in distance; their penetration power can surpass heavy crossbows. They can embed several centiters into brick walls, not to ntion easily piercing cloth armor and beast-hide armor.
The most troubleso are the paralyzing toxins embedded within these wooden spikes, causing the hit area to lose sensation quickly.
If hit by three needles in succession, even without striking vitals, one would be paralyzed all over, lying on the ground unable to move for half the day.
