286: Chapter 229 New Milestone of Destiny Skill: Destroy Evil_1 286: Chapter 229 New Milestone of Destiny Skill: Destroy Evil_1 Hearing this, Duke Kolonfer completely collapsed, unable to believe he said, “Amanda is my biological daughter?

No…

This can’t be possible…

You’re lying to ; you’re all in this together deceiving …

Why does Amanda look like you?

You’re all lying to …”

“You fool, I am her uncle, of course, there will be resemblances to ,” the Coachman ghost kicked and punched Duke Kolonfer relentlessly, even though both were in a spectral state which rendered the assault largely ineffective.

“You only see the parts she resembles , but can’t you see yourself in her?

How can there be such a fool in this world?”

“Estelle, tell , tell he’s lying, that none of this is true, that Amanda is not my daughter…

she’s not…” Duke Kolonfer pleaded desperately, his face the epito of despair.

At this point, he would rather believe that Amanda was not his biological daughter because hatred was all he had left, and now they were trying to strip even that away from him.

Lady Estelle stood there coldly, unable to hide the pleasure on her face, the remorse of Duke Kolonfer was their dicine, their healing.

Compared to the fear they brought him by devouring his flesh and blood, she much preferred seeing him this regretful, and in the coldest tone, she said, “Everyone can lie, but can a deity lie?

If Amanda were not your biological daughter, if I had betrayed you, could we still enact Divine Revenge upon you?”

Estelle rcilessly shattered Duke Kolonfer’s last glimr of hope, when in fact, he had already known the truth all along, yet he couldn’t accept it.

When the truth was laid bare before him and the hatred began to fade from his heart, Duke Kolonfer’s spectral form faded more and more until it almost vanished from existence—his very reason for existence had disappeared.

“Forgive , forgive , Amanda, it’s my fault, it’s all my fault…” Duke Kolonfer murmured weakly, “Not for , but for yourself, forgive …”

“No, never, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I will always hate you.” The frail figure huddled beside Estelle showed her small face, marked with an indelible resentnt.

For Duke Kolonfer, she had only eternal hate, never anything else, for in her mory, all he gave her was pain, no single good mory.

Duke Kolonfer disappeared with the endless hate borne by his closest kins.

The Coachman Ghost, now without a target for his aggression, looked at Estelle and Amanda apologetically, saying, “I’m sorry, when you needed most, I abandoned you; I shouldn’t have left on my own.

I should have taken you with , or maybe I should have never co to the manor, then you wouldn’t have been hard…”

“Ailma…

stop it, don’t take the bla that isn’t yours, we’re family, we should care for each other, it’s because you were there that we survived until now, that we had a ray of sunshine in our lives, that Amanda could experience even a little happiness…

Ailma, you’ve done well enough, go now, you’re free.

We’re no longer your responsibility,” Estelle said tenderly, her deanor softened considerably as she addressed the Coachman Ghost.

“Uncle Ailma, I don’t hate you, I never did,” Amanda spoke softly, “I am happy that you could co back to help mother and .”

“Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!” Affird at last, the Coachman Ailma seed to lose so invisible bond and instantly transford into a beam of light, vanishing without a trace.

Only Gaven was left, staring at the ghostly mother and daughter.

Seeing no indication that they intended to disappear, Gaven took the initiative, “Ladies, isn’t it ti for you to leave as well?”

A hint of bitterness flashed through Estelle’s beautiful eyes as she said, “It’s not that we don’t want to leave, but that we can’t.

We’ve beco one with this manor forever, such was the price of the power of revenge we received.”

“Earthbound spirit?” Gaven involuntarily raised an eyebrow and said, “Wait here for a mont; I need to deal with so personal matters, then we can talk.”

Gaven stepped back to the Black Nanmu and then subrged his consciousness into the Consciousness Sea.

The mont Black Nanmu pulled the Evil God Emblem Ring from Duke Kolonfer’s hand, Gaven had felt a tremor from the Consciousness Sea.

His first thought was that he had unlocked a new Milestone of Destiny.

After all, Weizemay Manor had evolved beyond a re Ghost Castle; it had beco a realm of Undead Vengeance, involving a demigod.

But at that ti, the circumstances did not permit Gaven to check the situation.

A new situation had arisen with the ghostly mother and daughter, likely related to this, so naturally, it warranted investigation.

Sure enough, gleaming silver characters appeared once again.

Silver Milestone of Destiny: Destroyer of the Undead Vengeance Domain

Destroyer of the Undead Vengeance Domain: Your appearance has caused disorder and twists in fate, a Weizemay Manor that was destined to beco part of the new God Kingdom of the Goddess Chiaranlisha of Undead Vengeance has been forcibly severed by you, remaining in the Material Plane.

You have gained complete control over Weizemay Manor, which is a ghost manor capable of freely entering and exiting the Shadow Plane.

You have obtained the Milestone of Destiny ability: Destroy Evil.

Chiaranlisha has taken notice of you, and all her followers regard you as an enemy.

Silver?

How could it be silver?

This was about an event concerning the future God Kingdom of a demigod, and yet it only rited a silver Milestone of Destiny.

However, considering the tragic end of Chiaranlisha in just over a decade, everything seed quite logical.

In the year 1377, the avenger Chiaranlisha was erased from all known realms by Calind Morlan and his Apprentices, using six Mailelit Knowledge Gems, stripping her of all her disciples, before she t her divine demise.

This Goddess had always been unlucky, ultimately becoming one of the rare deities to be annihilated by mortals.

But even if she had bad luck, she was still a demigod, and one needed to be careful if she set her sights on you.

Luckily, she was a Dwarven Deity, whose main followers were in the Dark Domain and among the Dwarves, with very few daring to walk on the surface of Felen.

Therefore, Gaven had sowhat of a grasp on the value of a Milestone of Destiny.

By comparison, the quality of a Golden Milestone of Destiny was now quite apparent.

Gaven focused his attention on this new gain.

The Weizemay Manor had appeared within Gaven’s Consciousness Sea in the form of a phantasm.

This indicated that its nature bore so similarities with the Dragon Oak Mother Tree.

However, what constituted it was not life force, but pure negative energy.

Thus, in the Consciousness Sea, the phantasms of the Dragon Oak Mother Tree and Weizemay Manor were distinctly separate.

One floating above, the other settled below.

When Gaven concentrated his consciousness on the phantasm of Weizemay Manor, he imdiately felt two clear Soul Totems—those of Estelle and Amanda.

Granted.

Lady Estelle was right, they couldn’t dissipate even if they wanted to.

Weizemay Manor was both their ho and their prison.

This matter had its pros and cons.

The upside was that the ability of Weizemay Manor to freely enter and exit the Shadow Plane granted it a powerful defensive asure.

By taking refuge in the Shadow Plane, ordinary enemies were utterly powerless against it.

The downside was that normal construction thods were definitely useless for Weizemay Manor.

Future expansions would be a troubleso affair, and might even be tied to the number of soul totems involved.

Another point was that the Shadow Plane was not a place of peace.

Once entered, it was very likely to attract the attention of native powers or monsters from the Shadow Plane—a more troubleso presence than conventional armies.

As for the specifics, they could only be explored slowly over ti.

Gaven shifted his attention to another gain, a Milestone of Destiny skill: Destroy Evil.

To be more precise, Destroy Evil was about destroying evil equipnt and extracting the essence from it, which could then be infused into the desired apparatus to create new non-evil equipnt.

This peculiar ability was sothing he had never seen or even heard of before.

But its usefulness and power went without saying.

As previously ntioned, in Felen, evil had a tangible existence.

The sa was true for equipnt.

Recently there was the Evil God Emblem Ring, and farther in the past, the Deford Golden Crown.

People didn’t dare to touch these items, let alone wear and use them.

One lapse of caution could result in being directly controlled and twisted by the evil residing within the equipnt.

While it’s true that a fraction of the equipnt could potentially be purified,

the difficulty was extraordinarily high.

The Deford Golden Crown was still lying around at Lord Virginia’s place, with a far from ideal progress in purification.

Even after purification,

it was still not used with confidence.

No one knew whether the purification was thorough or if there were other side effects.

If there were, they often proved fatal.

Most good people’s attitude towards evil equipnt was to either lock it away in a high place or seal it up.

Anything that could be destroyed was destroyed as thoroughly as possible.

His own ability seed not only to destroy but could also recycle and reuse the extracted essence, though it was uncertain how efficient this utilization was.

Only a practical test could tell.

Conveniently, the Evil God Emblem Ring was still a hot potato, and he didn’t know how to handle it, so it was perfect to test out his new ability.

Gaven concentrated his consciousness on his newly obtained ability, Destroy Evil, and imdiately his right hand lit up with a blazing white light, radiating a divine aura.

But this divine aura was not simply a sensation of positive energy; it carried a hint of the Divine Laws.

Not only did the ghost mother and daughter hastily take two steps back, but even the Black Nanmu began to tremble uncontrollably.

It seed that this light held a dreadful lethality to them.

“Throw that ring on the ground,” Gaven said hurriedly.

Without a mont’s hesitation, the Black Nanmu complied imdiately.

The fallen Evil God Emblem Ring, as if it had a will of its own, sensed the crisis of destruction and vibrated incessantly.

Suddenly, it surged from the ground as if attempting to flee into the darkness, into the Shadow Plane.

The ring’s ejection was quick, but a small frail figure was quicker, suddenly pouncing forward.

It firmly caught the jumping Evil God Emblem Ring, then offered it up to Gaven’s right hand.

The blazing white light inflicted terrifying damage on the pair of translucent small hands, visibly lting and evaporating them at an alarming rate.

Even as a spiritual body, it seed capable of feeling pain.

The owner of the hands, with a beautiful little face twisted in agony, stubbornly refused to release the Evil God Emblem Ring from her grasp.

Her deep blue eyes were filled with a thick unabating hatred.

Having once been consud by it and controlled by it, she knew the significant role this ring had played in her short tragic life.

Without mincing words, it was indeed the mastermind behind her misery, with Duke Kolonfer re a tool, a pitiable puppet.

Without it, even if Duke Kolonfer didn’t love her, at the very least, he wouldn’t have beaten her so frequently, nor would he have killed her and her mother, leaving her to perish in a chasm of hatred.

Gaven nodded to the stubborn little figure before him, “That’s enough, it can’t escape now.

Give it to ; it will no longer have a chance to do evil.”

Amanda looked up at Gaven, her hand still not letting go.

Lady Estelle’s gentle voice rose nearby, “Amanda, trust the adult.

Hatred is just a power.

From now on, we must learn to control it, not be controlled by it.”
