401: Chapter 340: New Abilities of the Manor_1 401: Chapter 340: New Abilities of the Manor_1 From beginning to end, he had not encountered a single impure presence, but that suffocating fear had always followed him like a shadow.

Until a white door appeared directly ahead.

On the other side of the door, sunlight shone brightly.

That was the way out.

The mont he saw the door,

Da had this realization surge within him, and he ran towards the direction of the door without any hesitation.

Hou!

Hou!

Hou!

It was as though a terrifying monster had awakened from the black mist behind him, uttering faint roars as the surrounding black mist rapidly closed in on him.

The light shining from the white door grew dimr, as if it were about to seal shut.

Da inexplicably felt that if he didn’t climb out before the door closed, he would have to stay here forever.

At that mont, Da’s desire to survive was fully ignited, and he sprinted with all his might, bursting out in the final second before the door closed.

Boom!

Da clearly heard the sharp sound of the door closing behind him.

A sigh full of regret ca from the other side of the door.

From beginning to end, Da never dared to look back and see what was chasing him; it was so close he felt he could clearly sense the chilling breath it exhaled.

“Mr.

Da, you finally made it out.”

“I won, I won, haha, it turns out Mr.

Da held out till the end.”

“Four hours, Mr.

Da is really amazing.

To have stayed in the manor for four hours is an unprecedented record.”

“Mr.

Da, tell us what exactly did you encounter in the manor?

Was there really a ghost maid who served you a lavish al?”

Only after escaping did Da realize,

He had not erged at the main building’s entrance, but at the entrance of Weizemay Manor.

What dispersed the chill around him was not the scorching sun, but rather a bustling crowd.

rchants he knew and those he didn’t all looked at him with admiration.

From their muddled conversations, Da gleaned much useful information.

He was the last to co out and had stayed in the manor for a full four hours.

What a joke?

He was sure he had only stayed for a mont, so how did it turn into four hours?

And he had thought he had exerted his best effort and should have been the first to co out, so how had he beco the last?

Da hurriedly looked around and indeed saw many familiar faces, the sa ones who had entered Weizemay Manor with him.

Only their condition wasn’t so good.

So were lying on the ground, with their pants wet and obviously slling of urine; even in unconsciousness, their faces bore an undeniable expression of fear, and their twitching hands and feet suggested they were still in the throes of running for their lives.

So sat on the ground, listless and shaking uncontrollably, not yet recovered from their fright.

Only a few seed relatively normal but looked like they had just been pulled from a river, soaked through and through—not from heat, but from sweat.

Together with himself, there were twenty-three people in total, wasn’t he indeed the last one?

Da said with a wry smile, “I’m just glad I wasn’t devoured by those ghost maids as a feast, let alone enjoying a al served by ghost maids.”

“Really?

There were ghost maids?” soone in the crowd asked excitedly.

“You first tell , how did they co out?” Da pointed at the unconscious rchants and asked, “Did they pass out before exiting, or after they ca out?”

“They passed out before they ca out, of course.

They were thrown out.

Not long after you all went in, they were just tossed out of the manor, we didn’t even see a shadow.”

“Rest assured, they were just a bit frightened, that priest nad Anna has already seen them, and she’s given them sedatives to calm their nerves; they’ll be fine after a good sleep.”

“I see,” Da mused.

“Mr.

Da, hurry up and tell us, what exactly did you encounter in there?”

“You don’t need to start from the beginning, just from when you found the treasure chest.

As soon as anyone talks about the second floor, they beco vague, completely unable to explain clearly.

They just say that you were enveloped in black mist, then gotten separated, and then it was just running and running…”

Da said helplessly, “I can only tell you the sa things.

The mont we were shrouded by that black mist, it was impossible to tell who was human and who was a ghost.

We didn’t dare get close, we didn’t dare to distinguish.

It’s apparent that whoever it was, they were using the black mist to separate us, creating a layout for a ghost chase.

Even if we grouped together, it wouldn’t last long before we’d be split up again.

Moreover, a slight misstep could lead to an encounter with sothing terrifying.”

“You were wearing a Ghost Eye Blindfold, right?

You couldn’t distinguish between humans and ghosts with it?

Then what’s the use of that blindfold?”

“It’s not that I couldn’t distinguish, but that I dared not get close and dared not discern.

You see, the other side made it clear by separating us with the black mist, recreating a ghosts chasing humans scene.

Even if we gathered together, we would be split up again soon, and a slight misstep could have us stumble upon sothing horrifying.”

By the end, Da couldn’t help but cast his gaze onto the unconscious rchants and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He was lucky his strategy was correct, otherwise he might have ended up as one of them.

They were definitely not passed out from exhaustion but were scared into unconsciousness, almost certainly during a close encounter of so sort with the existence within the black fog.

“Congratulations, Mr.

Da, you’ve successfully cleared the three stages of the Silent Courtyard, Haunted Main Building, and Ghost Hide and Seek at Weizemay Manor.

As the first to clear these stages, we present to you a bottle of our collectible Ghost Grape Wine.”

Two riders descended from the sky.

The man was handso and brimming with vitality, riding an elegant and beautiful Pegasus.

The woman had an exquisite beauty and extraordinary deanor, riding a majestic and imposing Gryphon.

The appearances and builds of the two were completely different, but the warm and enthusiastic smiles on their faces seed stamped from the sa mold, making one unable to resist exclaiming in admiration at the perfect match.

The two were none other than the owner of the manor, Gaven, and the lead designer of the Ghost Challenges, Regina.

Upon landing, they quickly walked up to Da.

Gaven took out a black wooden gift box and added, “This bottle of Ghost Grape Wine is unlike the others.

The ghostly essence contained within is beyond imagination.

Be very cautious when drinking it, and it’s best to have a bottle of Holy Light Liquor ready just in case.

When storing the wine, make sure the gift box is secured and locked.”

To prove he wasn’t just making it up, he opened the intricately carved gift box that bore the Weizemay Manor’s emblem.

The rchants closest to Gaven felt a cold chill rush towards them, significantly dissipating the heat of the mont.

The center of the gift box had a slot that perfectly fit the bottle of Ghost Grape Wine.

The wine was no longer rely black in color; it was now enveloped in a persistent fog of darkness inside and out.

As the gift box was closed again, the chilly aura was imdiately contained, not a wisp escaping.

Well now.

This was a buy one, get one free situation.

The box wasn’t just any gift box, but it also had the ability to seal away negative energy.

A regular bottle of Ghost Grape Wine was already valued at over one hundred and eighty Gold Coins.

This collectible version would not be won for less than five hundred Gold Coins.

Even though the rchants present were used to dealing in finances, they couldn’t help but gasp at the considerable reward.

Clutching the award given to him ceremoniously, Da still couldn’t believe his luck, wondering if he was still dreaming.

It was like a pie in the sky had fortuitously fallen right onto his head.

Being a rchant with broad experience, he reacted quickly, lifting the prize above his head and shouted, “Thank you, Mr.

Gaven, for this gift.

I will definitely treasure this prize as a testant to this unparalleled experience.”

“Today, the manor will be closed to outsiders.

We will be making further improvents and adjustnts to the layout.

Tomorrow, we will reopen to everyone.

Please continue to co for challenges; I will have daily prizes.

The first person to complete the challenge will receive a gift.

Tomorrow’s gift will be a Ghost Eye Blindfold,” Gaven announced loudly to all the rchants.

“Hou!”

Around them, a collective gasp could be heard.

The auction price of a single Ghost Eye Blindfold had already reached two thousand one hundred, and it would start at no less than two thousand five hundred on the market.

That was five tis the value of today’s Ghost Grape Wine.

They could busy themselves for a whole month and still not make that much.

Not to ntion the guards, attendants, and helpers, whose eyes sparkled at the idea.

Their wages for a month were just over a dozen Gold Coins; for them, this was an unquestionable fortune.

The reaction was so huge not only because of the soaring price.

Because it was unclaid, everyone had a chance to try their luck at obtaining it.

After announcing the news, Gaven didn’t wait to see what commotion it would stir amongst the rchants; he pulled Regina with him as they flashed into Weizemay Manor.

The Mystlock Locks rose, barring any rchants from entering afterward.

Only then did Regina let go of her professional smile, looking at Gaven with confusion, “Have you gone mad?

Even if you’re rich, this is no way to spend money.”

“No, no, this isn’t like you,” Regina said, shaking her head before Gaven could reply, “you must have foreseen greater benefits from this.

But where do these benefits co from?

Is there sothing I don’t know about?”

Gaven didn’t waste words and directly manipulated Weizemay Manor to present a series of data and explanations to Regina.

Manor Ghost House (Special Ability) — Carefully designed, the manor has unlocked the ability of the Ghost House, capable of extracting fear from visitors, solidifying it into Fear Points.

Shadow Servant Enhancent (Special Ability) — Using Fear Points to enhance the abilities of the Shadow Servants, unlocking unique skills.

Current Fear Points: 102.

“A manor?

It developed its own Special Ability?” Regina couldn’t believe her eyes, which had widened in disbelief.

Such a thing was unheard of.

“Don’t forget the true origins of this manor.

The Goddess of Undead Vengeance herself attempted to turn it into a part of her new God Kingdom.

Although she didn’t succeed, she did imbibe it with so Divine Power, ensuring it had unusual abilities.

Now, it has all been activated by Miss Regina’s previous arrangents,” Gaven blurred the concepts.

The fundantal reason was indeed this, but without the Undead Divinity, it would have been impossible to achieve.

Regina accepted Gaven’s explanation, or rather, her focus wasn’t on how the manor accomplished this, but on what could be done next, saying excitedly, “You want to increase the difficulty of the Manor Ghost House further?”

“Of course, otherwise why do you think I’m running a charity?

Aren’t prizes supposed to look tempting?” Gaven nodded as a matter of course, “As long as no one dies, make it as hard as possible.”

“Hahaha…” Regina laughed excitedly, “You want to reduce the difficulty, that’s not easy to achieve, but to increase it?

That’s too simple.

I’ve been holding back all this ti; we have not even used most of the Ghost Servants in the manor, especially those Trap chanisms.”
