He is intelligent, but his mindset has not quite adjusted yet.

If he makes any unwise decisions again, I will relocate him from his current position,” Gaven saw through Zack’s difficulties at a glance.

“Actually, it was all just a misunderstanding last ti; Supervisor Gos didn’t really…” Zack hastily explained, unwilling to let Gos be punished because of him, which would only further exacerbate the conflict between them.

“There’s no need for you to explain.

I can still distinguish right from wrong,” Gaven said coldly, waving his hand, “Blackwell is a large collective, a united collective.

Only by standing together do we have enough strength.

No matter the position, we are all striving for the growth and expansion of this group.

If anyone pushes in the opposite direction, their elimination won’t be far off.

I won’t permit any signs of infighting to erge.

You handled the previous incident very well.

Just keep in mind that the bigger picture is what’s important, and all your decisions will be right.”

“Understood,” Zack replied solemnly, recognizing this as Gaven’s bottom-line principle.

Once that line was crossed, no amount of pleading would be useful.

“Don’t worry, Gos hasn’t reached that point yet.

It’s just that his shrewdness, oftentis, is directed wrongly and needs occasional correction.

He does have feelings for the Blackwell Tribe,” Gaven added, pulling back a little as he sensed the conversation got too heated, “Let’s continue with our earlier topic.

What do you think our second construction priority should be?”

This question clearly carried the implication of testing and teaching.

Zack answered without hesitation, “Defensive construction.

Our rapid developnt will draw more and more covetous eyes.

I believe many forces are already restless.

We must prepare for this.”

“Exactly,” Gaven sighed, “The construction of defenses is indeed urgent.

Attacks may co sooner than we expect, and we can’t wait until we are fully prepared.

However, before that happens, we will do what we can.

Both construction tasks are of equal importance, and your team must divide its focus again.

Select so from within to form a dedicated construction crew.

The defensive construction is only the beginning of our infrastructure projects.”

“Actually, I have been considering this matter for a while now,” Zack revealed a sly smile, “but before that, I would like to introduce soone to you, my leader.”

“Oh?

Who might that be?” Gaven showed a look of interest.

“I have brought the person with ,” Zack was prepared.

“Bring them in so I can see,” Gaven said, not averse to such matters, but rather very welcoming of them.

Currently, the Blackwell Tribe had not yet established a suitable talent selection system.

There were only three paths to advancent: self-recomndation, nomination by others, and discovery by Gaven himself.

The first has yet to be pioneered by any Gnoll.

The last one, although feasible when the Blackwell Tribe was small, beca increasingly less so as the tribe grew.

Gaven did not have the opportunity to et all the Gnolls, lacking the ti and energy to do so.

For now, reliance was placed on nominations.

This situation was only temporary.

Felen had its own talent selection system—the professional system.

An exceptional talent is invariably one who has unlocked their own professional template.

If a person has not unlocked a professional template, no matter how exceptional they may be compared to the average person, they are not on the sa level as a professional, especially within the sa industry.

In other words, the Blackwell Tribe was not yet strong enough.

While it had recruited a considerable number of Gnolls, the number of professionals, especially those adept in magic, was relatively scarce.

The majority were concentrated in combat-related professions.

At Cangya’s end, the Gnoll warriors with activated professional templates already ford a small squad of twelve.

On Zack’s side, there were only a rare few spellcasters, three or two at most, and they were the lowest level magicians of the first and second level.

Their assistance in construction was extrely limited.

They could only be considered key figures for future training, potential assets that might prove useful in at least half a year.

“Leader, please co in,” Zack called out, and a nimble Gnoll slipped in.

This Gnoll was even shorter than the average, at about eighty centiters tall.

Its skin wasn’t the brown with spots like that of the Blackwell Gnolls but entirely a muddy yellow, with so areas darker and others lighter — nearly impossible to spot in a patch of yellow mud.

This Gnoll was most likely female.

Since Gnolls are egg-laying and do not have a nursing period, their reproductive systems are not pronounced, making it mostly necessary to rely on body shape to distinguish gender, at least for outsiders like Gaven, although this thod is mostly unreliable.

“Leader, this is Susie, the leader of the Pitfall Tribe.

Their tribe is famous for traps, possessing many excellent trap makers.

She has heard of our tribe’s reputation and wishes to bring her people to join us,” Zack introduced.

“If I’m not mistaken, there’s a considerable distance between the Blackwell Tribe and your tribe.

Moreover, your tribe is currently in a difficult situation and can’t evacuate here on your own,” Gaven said to the Gnoll called Susie, nodding his head as his eyes sparkled with wisdom.

Amazent that she couldn’t hide appeared on Susie’s canine face.

“Leader, you know about our tribe?”

“No, this is the first ti I’ve heard of it.” Gaven denied, not even knowing which direction Pitfall was located.

“Then, Leader, how could you understand our situation so well?” Susie was sowhat incredulous.

“I guessed.” Gaven stopped beating around the bush and started analyzing directly, “Within ten kiloters around our tribe, there are only a few tribes that haven’t joined us, which I’m well aware of.

So, your tribe can only be from further away, at least more than a dozen kiloters out.

If your tribe wasn’t in a special period, even if you weren’t coming en masse, sending a ssenger to touch base would have sufficed.

Why would you, a leader, need to make such a long trip?

Especially since Zack started by introducing you and your tribe’s worth, I suspect it’s to increase the likelihood of rescuing your people.”

“Leader, I…” Zack quickly tried to explain.

“I’m not blaming you,” Gaven said with a smile, “It’s only natural.

If possible, I hope you do more things like this; that way, our Blackwell’s strength will grow even faster.”

“Leader is wise.” Zack breathed a sigh of relief, showing a gratitude-filled deanor.

“Leader is indeed as wise and intelligent as the legends say, nothing escapes your eyes,” Susie said earnestly, “You guessed right, we truly have no way to migrate the entire tribe here on our own power.

Our tribe has a sworn enemy, a Hobgoblin Tribe, and our war has lasted half a century.

We’ve barely survived till now by relying on traps and mine tunnels.

Recently, a new leader erged in the Hobgoblin Tribe, imposing a complete blockade on us, making our lives increasingly difficult.

The mont we leave our valley caves, the Hobgoblins will certainly chase and trap us.

During migration, our greatest strength, the traps, will be severely limited in effect, and along the way, we must pass through a hunting ground for Collapsing Beasts.

By the ti we could reach here, I fear at least nine-tenths of our people wouldn’t have survived.”

“How many people are in your tribe?

What’s your strength?

And the hostile Hobgoblin Tribe, how many are there and what’s their strength?” Gaven didn’t agree imdiately but instead, kept trying to understand as much of the situation as possible before making a decision.
