Now reading: Chapter 875 - 875 558 from Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God, a Fantasy novel by Eternal Night Knight.

875: 558 875: 558 The downpour negatively impacted the defense equipnt of Efanso on the city walls, as the crossbow arrows and stones they fired began to lose their force.

The ropes used to launch these crossbow ammunitions were soaked, severely affecting their elasticity.

Of course, such a storm couldn’t have fallen out of nowhere as a favor from heaven to the Conqueror Army.

It was the handiwork of a Transcendent Druid.

Manipulation of Weather, a Seventh-Ring Spell.

The spell had a vast range, encompassing not only the entire battlefield but also the greater part of Efanso City in its deluge.

Unlike the temporary interdiate-low-level Barrier of Spell Immunity, this spell had been cast twenty minutes earlier.

These wide-reaching spells, especially those influencing the weather, required a long ti to deeply harmonize with nature before they could be cast, and the spell took so ti to take effect after that.

The magic power only helped the spellcasters gather thunderclouds and induce rainfall, not directly converting magic power into rainwater, which would have been too costly—a spell that goes against the laws of nature is always high in consumption and offers a reduced payoff.

If it conforms to the natural laws, however, the results are more effective with less effort.

This also ant that the final effect of such a spell was tied to the local environnt and weather conditions.

One couldn’t expect the sa results over a desert as over an ocean.

Efanso is a coastal city with high humidity in the air during sumr.

A slight trigger could naturally lead to a torrential downpour, whereas in the Enorok Great Desert, even a few minutes of light rain would be considered generous.

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Dozens of crimson orbs were fired down from the walls of Efanso City once more.

This ti, the Treants did not dare to underestimate them; those with shields raised them, and those throwing stones locked onto the red orbs.

The mistake would not be repeated by Efanso’s spellcasters.

These crimson orbs were certainly not a Fireball Technique.

They were a Seventh-Ring Spell, Flastorm.

A Transcendent Caster from Efanso had made their move, casting it in the guise of a simple, weaker version of the Fireball Technique.

But since the spell was of such a high level, it couldn’t be negated by the Barrier of Spell Immunity.

This was the suppression coming from a difference in level.

It was like the effect of a single Fourteenth-Level Transcendent Archmage, which could match the simultaneous casting of dozens of Level 6 or Level 7 Interdiate-low-level spellcasters.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Fireballs collided with thrown stones mid-air, causing them to explode prematurely.

This physical thod of nullifying attacks was effective.

However, hitting such moving targets in the air was as much about luck as anything else.

Only three or five orbs were detonated early; the majority still flew toward their targets.

Less than one-third served their lethal purpose.

The rest either veered off course or were blocked and exploded upon the colossal wooden shields.

The storm had taken effect, significantly dampening the power of the Flastorm.

It caused around thirty to forty points of fla impact damage to the Treants within the explosion range before the rainwater quenched it.

Without the storm, the fla impact damage would have, at the very least, doubled.

Even for Treants, seventy to eighty points of damage would have been remarkable.

“Ballista carts ready, fire!”

“Archers ready, fire!”

The Conqueror Army certainly wasn’t going to let the mages of Efanso bombard them without retaliation, beginning to provide the Treant Brigade with covering fire.

The Tower War Chariots had been pushed within range of the archers, with both ballistae and archers aboard unleashing their firepower.

Thousands of arrows blanketed the ramparts of Efanso City.

anwhile, the Treant stonethrowers raced against ti to bombard the ballista carts and catapults of Efanso.

Before the second Flastorm fell, the Treant Brigade had completed their first round of the assault.

They destroyed all the ballistae and catapults on that section of the wall.

With no more threat from the ballista carts and catapults, they retreated quickly and spread out sufficiently.

As the Flastorm fell again, its lethality was further reduced.

The Transcendent Caster seed to have foreseen this and thus did not cast a second Flastorm.

After a brief respite, the Treant Brigade pressed on again, expanding their gains along the wall in both directions.

This was the dire consequence of losing the initiative in battle.

The Conqueror Army could attack or retreat as they pleased.

The damage you caused last ti was rendered useless in the new wave of combat, as during their retreat for repairs, the Treants had nearly completely healed their wounds through Rooted Regeneration.

“Despicable, shaless, bastards…”

“Arms is a devil; they’ve committed such an evil act.”

“Call them back, quickly withdraw the Treant Brigade.

Continuing the fight will result in heavy casualties among the ordinary citizens of Efanso, and even capturing Efanso City would be aningless.”

“But if we do this, we let Efanso’s cunning ploys succeed.

They will beco more aggressive, applying this tactic in every aspect.

We can’t just tie our own hands because of these citizens, can we?

How will we continue the fight?”

“So despicable, so shaless…”

What happened next on the walls of Efanso City elicited curses from the Conqueror Army, from top to bottom.

The enemy’s thods were even more nefarious and vicious than they had imagined.

Unable to withstand the relentless bombardnt by the Treant Corps, they directly herded a group of pale-faced Efanso Citizens onto the walls, cramming them around the catapults and ballista carts.

In destroying these catapults and ballista carts, the Treants would inevitably kill a substantial number of Efanso citizens.
