Silk’s Point of View

The boss chased our husband while we cleaned up the harder lizardn still alive. It was rough watching him survive by the skin of his teeth over and over again. The monsters went berserk, which made them easier to kill as they began to flee and turn on each other, no longer working as a consolidated force. So still fought, but just as many fought each other, making killing the ones still fighting that much easier.

That was when we heard it; all of the remaining survivors looked in the direction of the loud crackling noise coming from the direction of the behemoth. The thing was breathing fire like an actual dragon! I heard Millicent scream out in fear for our husband, but I only looked at the situation more. I heard what dragons were capable of, and our husband might be cooked, but he most likely survived it; he’d just be in really bad shape.

The lizard behemoth didn’t get as lucky as I saw from the side angle I was at, fire shooting from the back of its head. The inside of its mouth was weak because it was designed to fire out the fla breath. It might have been able to do it more than once, which would have certainly been our end, but the single use of its breath caused heavy self-inflicted damage from the injury in its mouth.

The fist-sized hole in its mouth expanded as its own attack started to cook its own brain. It cut its breath off early as it fell to the ground in pain, struggling to get up, as it had just almost killed itself. I looked over to see that my husband was still standing, but soon after he saw the shape the boss was in, he collapsed into unconsciousness. He had done enough and deserved that rest.

We were already down to seven, so of my sister wives burning themselves out to cause the boss that small injury, which was now a debilitating one. We stood no chance against the behemoth; it easily broke the normal rules of what should be possible for a boss to be, built bigger and stronger than what should be possible for the dungeon, and yet there it was, standing in front of us. A city destroyer lay low by its own attack.

Tems had already closed the distance. She had full trust in our husband and knew he’d be fine, well, at least survive, waiting for the opportunity he’d give us to slay the beast. She sliced at the now tender at near its neck while it was still doubled over in pain as she began stabbing rapidly as she slowly tried decapitating the behemoth.

I was right behind her. The few lizardn left alive could be dealt with by others, and I watched her swing faster and faster, every single blow driving the next to move that much quicker, most likely a skill. I got my sword in it just in ti as it stood back up, dragging and her off the ground as we kept slashing. It reached up at . I knew I had to leave, as hurt as the behemoth was, it would still easily crush if it got its hands on .

I leaped off the shoulder I had climbed on, stabbing it in the eye in the process, making it reel back in pain again, almost toppling it. Even with both of us striking it, even with permanently taking out its eye, it still stood. Shaky, but alive. I couldn’t believe it. How the hell did the previous dungeon kill this thing? Thousands of arrows, hundreds of corpses, and then a boss fight in a cramped environnt would have been the only way, and possibly poison or sothing else to finish it off after it killed all the monster council.

We weren’t the only ones moving as Sarah slamd an axe into the back of the behemoth's knee. That alone wasn’t enough to topple the behemoth. Delilah ca up next, hamring down with two hamrs, forcing the axe in even deeper. That wasn’t enough. Finally, Olivia ran toward the behemoth before jumping into the air and landing onto the axe before kicking off.

Finally, the boss toppled over again, its shaky stance destroyed forever as the ligants were severed. It clumsily fell to its knees. That was enough to lower the head down enough for to reach it again as I jumped up, digging my sword into its other eye, permanently blinding the creature. Tems was still doing work, and the mixture of pain from the coordinated attack was finally bearing fruit as we could see it finally weakening.

It feebly swung at us as the girls lower down stopped trying to inflict damage and instead just started pushing to force it to fall forward. The fire weakened all the flesh around where it scorched; instead of attacks only digging in an inch or two, they were cleaving and leaving behind huge gaping wounds. It cried out in pain one last ti as it toppled over. We hamred and stabbed at its head until we knew for certain it was dead.

I heaved for breath on the ground as Leaf shot an arrow in the lizardn stupid enough to get close to us. Marcus finally ca out of the castle, and by his wide-eyed expression, I knew he didn’t expect us to win, only buy ti until we needed to run. The levels I gained…

Were enough to make this trip worth it alone, that’s on top of the lightweight enchanted breastplate, magical leather jumping boots, and enchanted cloak that both ward or cooled depending on the environnt. We had made out like bandits, and I watched as the rest of the n I thought were slain hobbled out from wherever they dropped at.

The rcenary leader hopped over, his one leg completely missing as he had to perform battlefield dressing, or he might have bled out. The knight captain hobbled over, missing another eye and half of his enchanted equipnt, which most likely saved his life from being crushed to death. The final knight cried out in pain as he spoke. “I’m… I’m still alive as well… Just… I can’t move on account of all of my bones being broken.”

I couldn’t help it, it started with a scoff, but slowly it grew to a chuckle, then full-blown laughter as everyone else followed along. There was no reason we should have lived; we got lucky, so extrely lucky it broke the logic of the world, and this wasn’t even the first ti it happened. I looked over with the smile still on my face at my unconscious husband and couldn’t believe how lucky I was to end up with him.

In just a few years, I had grown so rapidly it didn’t make sense, and I wasn’t the only one. We were all just… More. More than we ever could have been without him by our side. I watched as the prince slinked out of wherever he was hiding, staring in fear at the behemoth as he gulped, then proceeded to ask if anyone needed help.

It wasn’t surprising. He had changed more than anyone out of all of us. He was strong, but far too weak at the sa ti. He was an epic class who acted like a common one, just from how he was raised and how he gained those levels. Adventuring was dangerous, but the privileged could skirt that danger and gain levels by sitting far enough back with several bodyguards while their group did most of the work.

He still couldn’t help but complain loudly as he looked at the damage everyone else went through. I doubted he would really change much, but after we made it ho, we wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore. “What’s with all this noise? Can’t you all go complain sowhere else instead of right at the entrance to my ho?”
