"Alright,"

Baron Blom readily agreed, smiling as he added, "But we must agree, I will take the bodies with ."

"Don’t worry, I won’t forcibly take them from you."

Rod helplessly assured again.

Baron Blom turned around and had the guards bring over the nine captives.

Without any hesitation, Rod drew the dagger from his waist and slit the throats of the lizardn one by one.

The progress of the [Pseudo-Dragon Slayer] entry reached twenty-three, with seventy-seven more to go.

"Alright, you can collect the bodies now."

Rod wiped the blood off the dagger and sheathed it back at his waist.

"Okay."

Baron Blom gestured, and the guards quickly carried the bodies away.

Baron Blom curiously eyed Rod’s dagger,

"Your dagger looks quite ordinary, but it’s surprisingly sharp in use."

"Yes, I like practical things."

Rod smiled and changed the topic, "Can I get a complete record of the information you obtained from today’s lizardman interrogation?"

"Of course, I’ll also share the information I obtained from my interrogation with you."

"No problem, I’ll have the guards compile it soon."

Baron Blom smiled and said, "I’ll first take the lizardman bodies back, and I’ll have soone send you the intelligence."

"Good." Rod nodded.

"If you have ti, you’re welco to visit my little town,"

Baron Blom nodded slightly in a gesture of respect,

"I’ll take my leave now."

"Alright."

Rod returned the gesture and watched as Baron Blom left.

Had I known the lizardman corpses were worth so much, I should have mobilized all my forces to set up a larger net to ambush these lizardn.

Though risky, the gains were considerable.

Rod couldn’t help but muse inwardly.

But on second thought, Rod felt that the current situation was alright too.

If it weren’t for Baron Blom, he wouldn’t have realized the lizardn were so valuable.

Besides, there are still a lot of lizardn, and in the future, it’s impossible for to take on all of them alone.

It’s wise to concede so benefits so that Baron Blom will be willing to join forces with against the lizardn in the future.

After all, Razor Plain is closer to the Icefield Mountain Range.

"My Lord Baron, the information on your sister has been checked."

Vivian’s voice interrupted Rod’s thoughts, saying, "She found a small note at the end ntioning a flaw of the Mirror of True Sight."

"If the user of the Mirror of True Sight does not have at least fifteen points of spiritual power, the user cannot switch the forced monitoring target at will."

Vivian explained, "The only way is to kill the monitoring target to reclaim the spiritual mark."

"What does forced monitoring target an?" Rod asked.

"It ans monitoring a target that does not wish to be monitored."

"So, unless Chris is killed, the Mirror of True Sight can’t monitor anyone else?"

Rod pursued the question.

Vivian nodded in response, "It can’t monitor any forced monitoring targets, only those willing to be monitored are unaffected."

"I thought Chris was so child of destiny, affecting the fortunes of the lizardman tribes."

Rod joked, feeling much better.

The Mirror of True Sight can monitor the target’s location, see what they see, and predict their actions.

Rod had been worried about what to do if others were silently marked with the spiritual mark.

It seems there’s no need to worry for now.

Just protect Chris well.

"I didn’t expect such a powerful magical item would have this kind of flaw," Vivian sighed.

"This isn’t a flaw; it’s called a usage threshold."

Rod raised his hand and waved, "Did you think all magical items were as low-level as the ring on my hand?"

"The Mirror of True Sight is sothing used by official wizards, and the spiritual power threshold for an official wizard is above fifty points."

"So, in that case, fifteen points of spiritual power aren’t a flaw," Vivian nodded in agreent.

"It’s only in this era of magical deserts that it’s like this."

Rod sighed, then looked at Chris in the distance.

Rod waved him over, calling him to the front.

Chris quickly ran over and bowed in a gesture of respect,

"Lord, do you have any instructions?"

Rod smiled as he instructed, "Once this is over, you can go back and rest for a while."

Chris was montarily stunned, his mouth slightly open.

He seed to want to say sothing but hesitated for a mont and ultimately just nodded.

"Yes, my Lord."

"You don’t need to worry; I’m not dissatisfied with you."

Luo De saw the sowhat disappointed Chris and explained with a smile, "You did very well, it’s just that I need you to take a good rest for a while."

Chris hesitated for a mont and couldn’t help saying, "If you trust , my Lord, I don’t need to rest."

Chris understood that there were many things needing attention at Black Pine Ridge; if he were truly valued, there would be no ti for rest.

Moreover, Chris had already regained his composure, though his heart was filled with doubt.

Why did Baron Rod appear here so quickly?

Why was Baron Blom, whose territory was troubled by magical beasts, also present?

Everything seed orchestrated, as if to ambush those Lizardn.

But why was none of this plan disclosed to ?

Where did Gang Le and Rein go?

"Of course I trust you."

Luo De pondered, "Forget it, the other side probably realized it’s a trap too, so telling you doesn’t matter."

...

...

"So, I was monitored by magic items, and you used as bait to make the Lizardn split their forces?"

After listening to Luo De’s explanation, Chris’s eyes widened, and then he understood.

"No wonder I got ambushed, and our base was found by the Lizardn."

"But, how did I get hit?"

Chris was full of confusion.

"There are many ways to leave a spiritual mark,"

Luo De thought for a mont and explained, "By eating sothing, or by killing certain people or animals, you can be cursed."

"When the curse is activated, the spiritual mark will fall upon you."

"Using your hair, your blood can also curse you," Vivian added.

After hearing this, Chris frowned, his eyes filled with panic.

"In that case, I can’t resist at all."

"Spells aren’t sothing ordinary people can resist, let alone the Mirror of True Sight, which is a high-level magic item."

Luo De comforted, "So this isn’t your fault, even if it were soone else, they couldn’t resist."

"Thank you for your kindness."

Chris solemnly bowed to Luo De.

Thinking for a mont, he continued, "Since that’s the case, I really can’t stay here any longer; whatever you need to do, let know."

"I’ll blindfold you and send you back to the territory of Black Pine Ridge, where you can relax with your wife for a while."

Luo De conveyed his plan to Chris and then added, "You can also raise any requests."

"I have no requests; I’m now a transparent person under surveillance, and your willingness to keep is already rciful."

Chris stated solemnly, "I only hope, I can still do more for you."

"You’ve already done a lot."

Luo De smiled, "Your living will make the Mirror of True Sight ineffective, so they have to kill you."

"Then it seems I’m still quite useful."

Chris smiled, "Then I’ll go back and do so hard labor for a while."

"That won’t do; I need you to rest well and take the ti to cultivate your Breathing Technique."

Luo De patted Chris on the shoulder,

"Once these matters calm down, I’ll reward you with a longsword I crafted myself."

"Thank you for your generosity!"

Chris’s eyes lit up, his face instantly filled with joy,

"Rest assured, I will live well!"

...

...

"Fools! Idiots!"

In the Icefield Mountain Range, in a hidden cave.

A Lizardman holding a bone staff looked at the scene in the mirror before him, cursing loudly.

This Lizardman appeared far more frail than a normal Lizardman, yet exuded a strange pressure.

His scales were dark purple, covered with mottled patterns, as if ancient runes were engraved on his skin.

His head was long, with a pigeon-egg-sized purple crystal embedded on the forehead, where fog seed to flow within, faintly exuding magic power.

His eyes were even more peculiar, one was a Lizardman’s slit pupil, while the other was a solid icy blue, devoid of an eyeball.

At this mont, the mirror he was watching was covered with black cloth, completely devoid of an image.

A high-level magic item was rendered useless by a simple piece of black cloth.

"A bunch of dirty scum, you can’t even kill a weak human, and you fell into a trap!"

The frail Lizardman’s voice was chilly, shouting to the outside of the cave,

"Co!"

A burly Lizardman rushed in, kneeling on the ground with his head lowered, looking extrely respectful,

"Great Shaman, please give your command."

"Notify all the tribesn, mixed bloods, and those alien races who serve us."

The frail Lizardman thrust the bone staff into the ground with force, his voice hoarse and somber,

"As long as they kill that Chris, they can have whatever they want!"
