The guards’ planned thod of interrogation was very simple.

They searched for a stone, slightly sharp.

They intended to use this stone to smash Chris’s fingers one by one until he was willing to talk.

Luo De’s mind was filled with countless ways to torture people.

——In novels and film works of a past life, there were many contents about torture.

But Luo De did not participate, only quietly waited.

The guards quickly found a stone, deftly pressing down on Chris’s palm.

Luo De gestured to stop, staring at Chris and asking, "Tell , or else when you can’t bear it and tell later, all the pain would have been in vain."

Chris still kept his head down without speaking, muscles on his face tense.

"I understand your choice."

Luo De waved his hand, signalling the guards to proceed, and turned around himself.

By the campfire, Luo De began to roast at, bringing out the dry food to toast over the bonfire, thinking eating cold food at night wasn’t good for the stomach.

Frost and Thunder didn’t care, as Luo De threw out raw jerky to them which they swallowed in one bite.

Notably, Two-legged Flying Dragons are omnivorous.

Their strong digestive systems sotis allow them to swallow dirt to stave off hunger.

Human flesh is also included in their diet.

But Luo De had already ordered Frost and Thunder to forbid devouring human flesh.

Otherwise, if Frost and Thunder were to interrogate Chris, Chris wouldn’t last even three seconds.

Chris showed so perseverance, the first strike by the guards did not make him cry out, only producing a muffled grunt.

The stone was blunt enough that success wasn’t possible on the first try.

The ensuing endless pain finally made him shout out.

Luo De had expected Chris to endure until his right hand, since that hand held the sword.

Coming back to his senses, Luo De realized that Chris’s second finger hadn’t been completely smashed.

"I’ll talk!"

Chris roared, face pale, "My lord, what do you want to know? I’ll tell you everything!"

Luo De ca back to his senses, waved his hand to signal the guards to retreat,

"Without any bone of pride, why endure such pain?"

Luo De never understood why people had to endure torture once before they were willing to confess.

Luo De also had no ti to explore this issue; he just watched Chris quietly, waiting for his report,

"About every seven to nine days, I send a person to deliver the ssage to the post behind White Rock Canyon."

Chris clutched his seat, voice trembling as he said, "There are homing pigeons at the post that will deliver the ssage back to Eagle Castle."

"Who is your ssenger?"

Luo De pressed further.

"There is no fixed ssenger; the people at the post only recognize secret codes."

Chris shook his head slightly, honestly answering, as sweat dripped continuously off his forehead.

"Very well, then tell the secret code."

Chris hesitated for a mont, struggle flashing in his eyes.

Luo De frowned slightly, "Don’t force , Chris."

Chris sighed slightly and finally answered, "The secret code for sending ssages is ’The black wings will soar in the sky’, and every letter must include this sentence at the end."

"I hope you’re not deceiving ."

Luo De’s eyes were cold, "Or else I would lose a ssenger soldier while you would never have all your limbs again."

"Rest assured, I won’t lie to you, my hand..."

Chris’s face showed pain, his voice weak, "Could you have soone bandage my fingers?"

Though his left hand did not wield the sword, Chris still wanted to keep his fingers.

Luo De waved his hand, "Have it treated, and ask Luna for so Hemostatic Potion."

"Yes, my lord."

The guards swiftly produced so linen, beginning to bandage Chris’s wound, but their actions were not gentle.

"When was the last ti you sent a ssage back?"

Luo De continued probing.

"Two days ago,"

The pain in his hand made Chris grit his teeth, but he persisted in answering, "Reported the location at that ti, told the Lord Earl I was searching for the location of the town."

Luo De said nothing, pondering silently.

The next ssage would be due in at least five days, no rush.

The harvest season was approaching, and Luo De just wanted to safely gather all the grain, then deal with this Hawk Count.

Luo De’s plan was to use Chris, the ssenger, to stall them and slowly reckon after the harvest.

Luo De’s mind was already filled with a series of plans.

Chris also realized that Luo De might have so arrangents, so he did not want to confess.

But the heart-piercing pain of his fingers was too much.

More importantly, if Luo De smashed his right hand, he would forever lose the ability to wield a sword.

"I won’t trouble you, rest well."

Luo De saw that Chris could not possibly submit to him, so he didn’t waste any more words.

Such a noble close confidant expeditionary was restrained by the extra care given to their wife and children.

On the other side, Durant quickly finished tallying the enemy casualties and walked over with a serious expression.

"None of the sixty soldiers escaped."

Durant reported, "Additionally, Chris’s attendants and deputies were also captured by us."

"The opposing side had thirteen fatalities, twelve seriously injured, nineteen slightly injured, others were wounded but of no consequence."

Durant paused for a mont and continued, "However, Luna said those seriously injured can’t be saved."

"Give them a swift end."

Luo De said lightly, a hint of fatigue in his voice.

In this era, simple herbal dicines and rough surgeries couldn’t save the severely injured.

For those people, living only ant endless pain and a slow death.

"Yes, my lord."

After Durant responded, he then prepared to carry out the order.

"Wait, I will do it myself."

Luo De suddenly raised his hand, stopping Durant.

He suddenly rembered his next entry under Commander’s Montum, Commander’s Blade, requiring him to personally kill ten robbers.

He just wasn’t sure if these soldiers from the Count’s family counted as robbers.

Invading his own territory, logically they would all be considered robbers, right?

Luo De thought.

But whether they counted or not, trying would provide an answer.

Durant paused, quietly suggesting, "You don’t need to do it personally, do you?"

"Seeing more gore can help rember the cruelty of war."

Luo De casually found an excuse, personally walking over to where the prisoners were detained, and sent off each seriously injured prisoner one by one.

[In the battle against robbers, personally killed ten robbers, unlocked entry: Commander’s Blade]

When the tenth prisoner was executed, a system prompt appeared before Luo De.

Indeed, invaders were all considered robbers.

Having unlocked the entry, Luo De no longer handled this dirty work, returning the short sword to Durant, carefully examining his entries.

[Commander’s Blade (Green): Can be actively activated in war, increasing the base strength of you and soldiers under your command by 20%, invalidated after the battle.]
