A voice filled with sorrow, fury, and unwillingness echoed from within the blood-red mist of swirling bats.
It was Camazotz's roar.
And Camazotz's regret.
Just as he had said, Camazotz was a king who had lost all his people. Six million six hundred thousand years ago, in order to defeat the imnse threat that awakened beneath the earth, he had no choice but to sacrifice the entire nation.
Within that grief-stricken roar, Camazotz finally revealed his true form.
After sacrificing one hundred million subjects, he had obtained a transcendent body powerful enough to defeat even ORT.
A gigantic bat.
Its size rivaled the ORT that Shiomi and the others had witnessed several days earlier.
Crimson mbrane wings stretched wide. Slender tendrils extended from its body.
The appearance was ferocious and monstrous.
Yet sohow, it did not inspire genuine disgust.
Especially now that they knew Camazotz's history.
"Spirit Origin reaction... Beast."
Morgan frowned slightly.
"He achieved the feat of defeating ORT, yet the cost was all his people. Perhaps that was never his intention, yet in the end it still turned out this way."
Shiomi let out a quiet sigh.
"The Evils of Humanity are Humanity's Love," Morgan said softly. "As the king of Ka'an, he must have loved his people deeply. Otherwise, he would never have turned himself into a beast just to fight this far."
Their voices were not loud.
But in the Fourth Netherworld, no sound could escape Camazotz's hearing.
"Silence! Even if you are gods, even if you are the Unity God, no matter what mission you carry, do not speak as if you understand!"
The furious roar ca with overwhelming wind pressure, cutting off the conversation between Morgan and Shiomi.
Casual conversation before a battle was never wise.
Yet after hearing Camazotz's story from Xquic and witnessing his true form, the two of them could not help but feel a certain respect.
The continuous gale swept through the Netherworld interior. Hard mountain rock was instantly sliced apart and shattered.
Even though Morgan imdiately raised a barrier, the wind pressure still sliced through the hem of her clothing and severed the ends of her hair.
"One!"
Camazotz suddenly shouted.
"One? What does that an?"
Shiomi imdiately grew alert.
"My wife, be careful. Camazotz seems to be counting sothing."
"I understand. But we cannot simply endure it."
Morgan extended her right hand, slowly tracing an arc with the pure white Holy Lance.
"Preparing counterattack... [Luna Hurricane]!"
The wind pressure that could tear apart anything it touched suddenly shifted under Morgan's declaration.
Instead of rushing toward the Unity God from one direction, the currents changed course.
Countless blades of wind erupted from the storm.
Surrounded by these wind blades, Camazotz neither defended nor counterattacked. He simply continued counting.
"Two!"
The wind blades left marks across his hardened body, yet failed to cut into the flesh. They simply collided against the tough outer layer.
As control over the phenonon fell into the hands of the Unity God, the wind blades multiplied until they were impossible to count.
Camazotz stubbornly endured the assault.
Eventually the blades cut through the outer hide, exposing flesh beneath.
But Camazotz did not care about such wounds. They were superficial and healed rapidly.
"If attacking from the outside isn't enough, then we attack from the inside."
Morgan pressed a hand against her chest.
Mana condensed into more than a dozen slender spears, aid directly at her own heart before firing outward.
Using herself as the dium, the attack was transferred directly into the target's body.
It appeared like a devious technique, but in truth it depended entirely on the difference in rank and power between the two sides.
Now that Morgan was half of the Unity God, her rank was incomparable.
Even against an opponent like Camazotz, this thod could still inflict damage.
"Ahahahaha! Three!"
At the third count, Camazotz burst into wild laughter.
His magical energy surged dramatically, and the environnt of the Fourth Netherworld itself began to change.
"7 Deaths. Vucub-Ca!"
"?!"
Morgan and Shiomi were both startled.
This ability expanded across the entire Fourth Netherworld.
As a myth that had existed in Mictlan for 6.6 million years, exercising absolute control over the Fourth Netherworld was not difficult for Camazotz.
"The phenonon has changed? No... the rules themselves have been rewritten..."
Shiomi felt a jolt of shock.
"Camazotz has changed the rules of Yayauhqui. As long as we remain here, neither recovery nor defensive asures can be used at full capacity."
Morgan twisted her body and flew at high speed through the narrow cavern inside the mountain.
She evaded the dense barrage of tendrils attacking from Camazotz's body.
Unlike the tentacles of sea monsters or Demon Pillars, these were extensions of Camazotz's senses.
They were both weapons and sensory organs.
Even though the Unity God's flight speed could rival U-Olga Marie's uninterrupted instant teleportation, Camazotz's attacks still chased after Morgan's movents, forcing her to dodge with extre caution.
The tendrils could only expand so far and could not split infinitely.
But their overwhelming speed and attack frequency compensated for that limitation.
Each strike carried the weight of a mountain.
They could not be blocked head-on.
"So that ans..."
Morgan left behind a trail of nebula-like vapor in the air.
The behavior looked almost like she was marking her own position, yet Camazotz did not react.
She accelerated at full speed like a teor, circling the dim sky of the Fourth Netherworld.
Within a short ti, she had completed hundreds of revolutions.
The nebula-like trails completely surrounded Camazotz.
Then they detonated.
An explosion comparable to an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm engulfed Camazotz's body, halting the one-sided pursuit.
Thick smoke swallowed his massive form.
After so ti, a violent wind swept through and dispersed the smoke.
Morgan had not attacked while the smoke obscured him for a simple reason.
That strike had already dealt real damage.
Camazotz was breathing heavily, recovering from the explosion's impact.
"So that's it. The power you used just now only interfered with our defense and recovery."
"It did not sufficiently hinder our attacks."
"At this level!"
Camazotz's voice grew even more excited.
"This is the power of the Unity God! This is the modern myth that surpasses ancient myth!"
"Myth is too distant for ," Shiomi's voice echoed through the air, solemn and steady.
"Only by fighting with everything we have can we prove that we an no disrespect."
"Excellent!"
Camazotz roared with laughter once again.
The battle had only just begun.
