Shiomi had grasped the Reality Marble, and now that he had beco a god, his Barrier Arts had likewise reached the divine domain.
Compared to the barriers Magi use to monitor their surroundings and ward off enemies, Shiomi's barriers could isolate irrelevant outsiders with ease.
All of the Shadow Servants chasing after them were stopped outside the barrier, unable to break through.
Unless, of course, one of them had a Noble Phantasm they could release.
But clearly, every Shadow Servant that had fought Shiomi's group up to this point had incomplete Spirit Origins and lacked the ability to unleash a Noble Phantasm.
At its current scale, the barrier was more than enough to hold them back.
And even if a Noble Phantasm did appear, Shiomi could imdiately strengthen the barrier and reduce any unnecessary interference.
"So this is… the Tohsaka residence?" Scáthach looked at the house in front of her, puzzled. "Wasn't it supposed to be gone, with nothing left but a huge crater?"
"No one can guarantee that this Singularity F, which also took place in 2004, is the exact sa Singularity F we repaired back then," Morgan said. "If there's so discrepancy, that wouldn't be strange."
"Is sothing like that really possible?" Olga Marie's voice ca through the communicator.
Things were not yet critical on Storm Border's side, so she had been following Shiomi's movents through their open line the whole ti.
"If it's Chaldeas, it may well be possible," Shiomi said. "Or else…"
He reached out and pushed open the gate to the Tohsaka Family residence.
As the weathered gate moved, it let out the groan of old decay.
"So it's not an illusion," Skadi said. "Then could this be…"
Then she recalled sothing that had happened in Mictlan.
Shiomi turned back and exchanged a keen, knowing smile with Morgan.
"My wife, co here a mont," he said to her.
The two of them rged into their united divine form, signaled for the others to step back a little, and then Morgan triggered the collapse of the phenonon.
The Tohsaka residence, which had looked completely real before their eyes, shattered in an instant like a work of glass.
As that false phenonon vanished, the massive crater they had seen before reappeared in front of them.
"So the phenonon really was replaced." Artoria frowned. "Only this house and this plot of land showed the least sign of having been burned. It was obviously sothing hidden here afterward."
"Then what exactly was Chaldeas, or rather Marisbury, trying to accomplish by doing all this?" Scáthach asked as she looked at the two of them after they separated.
Shiomi crouched beside the crater and examined what lay inside.
"After the Fifth Holy Grail War ended, Marisbury personally offered a huge sum of money to bribe . He wanted to help cover up the result of the Holy Grail War and publicly declare that the winner was Saber, not Caster."
Because the King of Magecraft existed, the outside observers monitoring the Fuyuki Holy Grail War had already been removed one after another after Marisbury arrived there.
And he was not the only one doing it. Clock Tower Magi sent there, such as Bazett, also turned around and cleared out the Mage's Association's surveillance.
A Holy Grail War ant Magi fighting each other, which inevitably exposed their hidden cards.
For Magi, that was unacceptable.
Once their thods of observation had been erased and could no longer be restored, the others had no choice but to swallow the loss in silence.
"At first, I thought Marisbury just didn't want people to know that the Lord of Astromancy had won the Holy Grail," Shiomi said. "But looking at it now, Marisbury was clearly thinking much further ahead."
"Are you sure it wasn't just my beloved disciple seeing money and losing his head?" Scáthach teased.
Morgan shook her head. "That may have been part of it, but with only the information available during the Holy Grail War, how could my husband have guessed there was a conspiracy of this scale behind it?"
Shiomi found that very convincing.
At the ti, he really had only thought that Marisbury was acting like a typical Magus, trying to erase traces of his own activities.
"So what exactly was this crater ant to hide? Go on and tell yourself, land of Fuyuki."
Then, as though speaking to himself, Shiomi fixed his gaze on the crater.
As he spoke, ti around the crater began to twist.
This was not turning ti back. It was tracing back what had happened here, confirming what had taken place in Singularity F before they arrived.
"This is…" Skadi nearly lost her voice.
A vast phantom gradually erged.
Roots and branches spread over the crater, almost completely overshadowing the group, while a tree trunk rose straight into the clouds.
There was only one possible explanation.
"A Fantasy Tree." Scáthach's expression turned grave. "Then Singularity F is…"
Morgan stared at the traced phantom of the Fantasy Tree.
"Now that I think about it, the plan to bleach the Earth was carried out far too cleanly. It began with no visible preparation at all. Compared to the King of Magecraft, who planted seven anchor points throughout human history and even personally sent the seventh Holy Grail into the past, it was far too lacking in thoroughness."
And now, the reason it had seed so lacking was finally laid bare here.
Marisbury had not rely followed the inherited Grand Order of his family, completed Chaldeas in his own generation, and raised his daughter into a vessel for the Alien God's will.
To ensure the bleaching of the Earth would proceed smoothly, he had used Chaldeas to create Singularity F upon the celestial sphere.
Unlike the Singularities created by the King of Magecraft, this Singularity existed for the sake of cultivating a Fantasy Tree.
It was precisely because the King of Magecraft had seen that truth that he ordered the Demon God Flauros to place the Holy Grail inside Singularity F and set this Singularity ablaze as well.
Originally, the mont Singularity F was discovered by Chaldea, the plan to bleach the Earth had already begun to advance.
The Incineration of Humanity happened to interrupt that process. Even though it was ultimately stopped, it still forced the bleaching of the Earth to be postponed until the first day of 2018.
"Co to think of it, Goetia himself admitted that he only prepared seven Singularities. But because of Lev Lainur's betrayal, and because he was in fact the Demon God Flauros, we ended up overlooking that point."
With a wave of Shiomi's hand, the phantom of the Fantasy Tree vanished.
Only the giant crater remained.
Fuyuki City was the birthplace of the Holy Grail War, and it possessed Japan's second-greatest leyline after Misaki.
And the land where the Tohsaka Family residence stood happened to be the very best of the four most concentrated leyline points in Fuyuki.
As a place to cultivate a prototype Fantasy Tree, it could hardly have been more suitable.
As for whether the Fantasy Tree here had been destroyed by Goetia's Incineration of Humanity, or recovered by Chaldeas and used as a template for the full-scale plan, there was no way to know.
"Simply learning the true nature of Singularity F isn't enough to solve the problem."
Shiomi raised a hand, and four crystal objects appeared in his palm.
"We need to turn the existence of the Singularity itself against them and use it to destroy Chaldeas's re-editing of human history."
Morgan, Scáthach, Artoria, and Skadi each took one.
It was ti for them to split up.
"Once Storm Border moves over here, Artoria will take the Fairy Knights to the Civic Center in Shinto. Skadi will take the Valkyries to the Fuyuki Church. Master, stay here and wait for support from Storm Border."
Shiomi turned to Morgan.
"As for , Morgan and I will head to the Great Hollow beneath Mount Enzou."
