"I will set our wedding and your crowing ceremony for a week from now," Sebastian announced after they had both emptied their plates in front of them. He watched her put her cup of coffee down on the saucer and gave him a small nod.
"Is that ti all right with you?" he asked, and she nodded again without speaking. Sebastian was not satisfied. He wanted to hear her voice. He needed words from her. They had eaten in silence, and he didn’t like it.
’Patience, man. Don’t rush her, she’s still getting accustod to you,’ Muffin said.
’For how long? I am willing to do anything to make her feel free around .’
’Ro wasn’t built in a day, you know. Just because she ate your food doesn’t an she is suddenly free and okay with you. Go gently; any pace is enough as long as there is progress.’
However, Sebastian wasn’t a patient man; in fact, he had never been one since he was a pup. When he wanted sothing, he would do anything to make it happen in a day. But with this certain mate of his, who was so different from all the others, it seed he would be forced to practice patience, sothing he really didn’t have in him to endure.
He wanted them to talk properly, to each other, like friends instead of reluctant allies. He had thought a breakfast together would be a way to achieve that, and telling her about her crowning of Luna, sothing she had seed so desperate for, that she had risked her life to participate in the competition for the position, would help. But even that announcent didn’t change the natural, blank expression on her face; it was almost as if he had just announced the weather rather than the ceremony.
Sebastian decided to try to make her talk in another way. He put his own coffee cup down.
"Now that you have won, it ans you have earned your three wishes. Have you thought about what you want to grant you?" he questioned, almost eagerly, waiting for her answer.
From what he knew of her, she would not ask for money, so he could not help his curiosity about what she intended to request.
Viola felt her heart leap at his words.
Her three wishes. She almost laughed at the thought because he made it seem like he was a genie who could grant her every desire, but then, he was in so ways. Only he could grant the wishes she truly wanted, being the most powerful man in the entire werewolf world. Those wishes had been part of the driving force that pushed her to fight with everything she had, even risking her life.
She had already calculated everything she wanted and morized it clearly in her mind since the mont he signed the contract. She knew exactly what she wanted him to grant, and every single request aligned perfectly with her plans to fixing the things that had broken her and made her live every mont of her life with regret.
However, she hesitated when it ca to voicing the first one, uncertain whether he would truly be willing to grant it. But then he had signed the agreent that he would grant her everything and anything no matter how absurd it may sounded or be.
She gave him a nod before wiping her mouth and lifting her gaze to et his.
"What is it?" Sebastian asked.
"I want to see Evan and the North Pack princess, Ember. I wish for you to invite them to our wedding and my crowning ceremony. That is my first wish," she said calmly, watching carefully as his eyes slowly lost their earlier glimr and dimd like a dying candle.
"I have blacklisted both packs. Any pack that is blacklisted no longer has access to enter Silver Pack territory. Couldn’t you ask for sothing else?" Sebastian inquired, hoping she would change her request.
He was not the type to forgive easily or go back on his words, and those two packs had directly offended him. He should have known she would not wish for sothing simple. And why did she want to see her ex? Did she still have feelings for him that made her want him invited into Silver Pack territory?
That thought darkened Sebastian’s eyes for a mont, but her next words softened it again.
"No, that is what I want. And you have to grant it as per our agreent. I am not asking you to remove the blacklist entirely, just send them an invitation to co here without revealing the identity of who won the competition. The only way I can get back at them is if I get to see them again, and I can no longer step foot into either of their packs."
So that was the reason, Sebastian thought, feeling a sense of relief.
Viola had not forgotten what they had done to her.
Evan had not only ruined her life; he had broken her heart and let her suffer for four long years, even though she had been the one to make it at least remotely possible for him to be crowned Alpha instead of his brother. She had given him all her teenage years instead of using them to gather her own wealth and power. She had spent every cent on him, invested not only her ti but her heart in him, only for him to break it.
Leni and Evan had tortured her in ways that left scars she could never fully overco. And Ember, Viola’s fist clenched tightly as she rembered how close she had co to death in that forest that night in the North Pack.
How could she possibly let them off that easily?
"Hm. If that is your wish, then they will be special guests at our wedding," Sebastian promised firmly. The look in her blue eyes told him she was doing this to exact revenge, and who was he to stop her? He, too, held a grudge against Moonwillow, especially that foolish Evan.
"Anything else you want to ask for?" Sebastian asked, sipping his tea and privately satisfied that she did not seem to harbor lingering feelings for Evan.
"I will tell you the other two wishes when the ti cos. Right now, though, I have a question, if you do not mind asking," Viola stated, turning sideways on her chair so she was facing him, her elbow resting on the table beside her plate.
"That depends on the question, mi amor. What is it?" he teased lazily, holding her gaze and enjoying that she was now fully facing him, her knees only an inch from grazing his.
A faint blush crept up her cheeks at the endearnt, spoken so thickly, but then she knew it ant nothing, Nick used that with her all the ti.
Viola quickly suppressed the strange effect he seed to have on her and the embarrassing ease with which she grew flustered around him, especially after what he had done in the resting room to save her life. The shaless pervert!
"What caused the feud between you and Moonwillow?" she asked.
She had been curious about this for a long ti, but she hadn’t been in any position to ask anyone. When the hostility between his pack and Moonwillow began, she had not yet been adopted and was still living in the orphanage within the Nightshade Pack, far away from both Moonwillow and Silver Pack territory, where she barely heard any of their news.
She hadn’t even known about the feud until Moonwillow stopped receiving any new, modern items from the Silver Pack. She had noticed it when they visited another pack and saw that they had everything new. When she asked why Moonwillow didn’t have the sa, her adoptive father had said it was because they had been blacklisted over a petty feud, adding that Sebastian was a very petty Alpha to hold such a grudge over sothing that should have been easily forgiven.
Nonetheless, he never told her exactly what that ’petty’ incident had been and quickly changed the topic.
