I pushed Cooper away and sprang to my feet as the woman stepped into the room.
"Why did you do that? I’m still a patient; you can’t do that to ," Cooper whined as he stared at . His attention was still on . He hadn’t noticed the woman yet.
When I didn’t respond to him, he followed my gaze and noticed the woman too.
"Mom?" He gasped once he saw her. "What are you doing here?" He approached her and then hugged her. But the woman didn’t respond to him; she kept her eyes on and continued watching .
Her stare made nervous. I lowered my eyes when her gaze grew more intense.
"Mom, what are you doing here? What a surprise!" Cooper laughed, holding her.
"Won’t you send her away?" The woman spoke up.
"Send her away? Who?" Cooper questioned.
The woman sighed. "What on earth are you doing in your condition? Can’t you hold your manhood for a day or two? Why do this in a hospital?" She scolded him.
"I wasn’t... doing anything. You interrupted us," Cooper grumbled.
"Send her away and let’s talk," she repeated as she took her seat in the resting area.
"Why should I send her away? Why do you keep saying that I should send her away?" Cooper probed.
"Then do you want her to listen to our conversation?" She retorted.
"Do you even know who she is?" Cooper groaned.
"I don’t care. She has to be one of your whores; send her away. I won’t repeat myself," she stated.
"Mom! How could you say that to her?" Cooper huffed, walking over to and holding my arm.
"She’s my mate. Why should I send her away? She’s my mate! You can say whatever you wish to say before her. She’s not a stranger," he insisted.
I saw the woman’s eyes widen a little, but she composed herself the next second.
"She’s the one?" She asked.
"What’s with your tone? Why do you sound disrespectful?" Cooper groaned.
"Since she’s mated to the four of you, I half expected her to be a real deal. I didn’t know she would..." She paused and heaved a sigh.
Upon her words, I lowered my head again. I’ve always wanted to et Cooper and Bryce’s mother. I’ve always dreamt of it. If I had known that I’d be running into her today, I would have dressed more appropriately.
I’m just wearing shorts and a top. I look very ordinary right now. My hair isn’t done, and I have no makeup on. I have failed to impress her—clearly. But I never expected that she’d be this rude either.
Never! She’s rude and very an. Disrespectful.
This is sad. I thought everyone would be like Parker’s mother. I must have confused myself.
Cooper left my arm and drew closer to her. "Mom! Please! If you continue being disrespectful, then I’ll show you your way out. And if you insist on staying, you must apologize to her," he demanded.
But she ignored his words, placed her handbag on the table, and brought out a container. The container was filled with chocolate.
"I brought this for you. You had this every ti you got sick; it helped you recover quickly," she said.
"Mom, didn’t you hear ?" Cooper drew closer to her again, and she ignored him yet again. He started to speak, "Mom, how could you—"
I rushed to him just as he began to speak and stopped him.
"It’s okay, I’ll leave right away. Speak to her nicely; she’s your mother," I whispered, and before Cooper could say another word, I walked out of the ward. He ca after the next second and handed my bag.
"I’ll apologize to you properly later, but I have to speak to her first. Go ho, I’ll call you," he said, then turned and walked away.
I heeded his words; I left the hospital and went back to the mansion, heading straight to my room. I fell on the bed and lay there with my eyes closed.
I didn’t expect that she’d be this rude. This cos as a shock.
Even Bryce was never this rude. Yes, he was evil, and he still is. But he has never made feel like shit, just like his mother had.
Neither of them has. They’ve never looked down on or belittled in this manner.
I’m truly heartbroken, and I want to cry.
Thinking back now, the brothers always treated like I was so prize, so gold. Maybe their treatnt of helped forget who I really was before they ca into my life.
At school, I act like I have it all, but in reality, I truly have nothing.
A sigh left my lips as I turned to the other side of the bed.
I suddenly miss my mom. I miss ho. I miss my family.
The vibration of my phone attracted my attention, so I opened my bag and retrieved it.
Parker was on the line.
I swiped the icon and answered the call.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hello, I’ll be there in less than twenty minutes. I’m with my sister. I hope you’re ready; we’re moving straight to the park," he said.
"Oh..." I oohed, sitting up on the bed.
"Oh? Why? Have you changed your mind?" He asked.
"Y...es, I feel a little down. Can I stay?"
"No, you can’t. If you feel down, this is an opportunity to regain your happiness. I’ll be there. Dress up," he said and quickly disconnected the call.
I guess he is right. I should dress up. I’ll forget Celine’s insults once I get on a ride.
Rising from bed, I went into my closet and changed my outfit. When a text dropped onto my phone, I left my room and t him outside the gate. I entered his car.
"Hi, princess, how are you?" I waved at his sister once I was seated, but she rolled her eyes at . I secretly rolled my eyes back at her but didn’t utter another word.
Parker chuckled at our interaction.
"So can you tell what happened? What made you so unhappy? Surely it wasn’t Bryce, was it?" He questioned.
I shook my head. "No, it was his mother," I revealed.
"His what?" He unexpectedly hit the brakes, and we briefly lost our balance.
My eyes widened as I stared at him. "Why did you do that?" I questioned, panicking.
But he ignored my words and asked, "Is Celine in town? Did you et her?" He interrogated.
