As expected, the brothers didn’t respond to Mom’s questions; they left the ward, leaving her slightly confused.
"I told you not to say it," Dad complained when they left, but Mom didn’t look pleased.
I spent the next twenty hours sleeping; after my discharge, my parents escorted to the mansion.
It was their first ti here.
"Woah, this house is so grand," Mom complinted the designs while Dad stayed quiet. When we reached my room, Mom began to examine every nook and cranny.
"This flower vase shouldn’t be here. This TV is too high; the bed should be closer to the wall." She kept pointing out different things.
My parents left early the next day; they wanted to give space so I could prepare for school.
But I don’t think I’m ready for school yet; I want to sleep. Can’t I resu next week? It’s almost the weekend.
A knock ca at the door.
"The brothers want you in the dining room," a maid announced.
Oh, it’s ti for breakfast.
"Coming," I responded as I got off the bed, left the room, and went straight to the dining room.
I was about to enter the dining space but stopped as soon as I heard them conversing. They were talking about Cooper’s company.
They’ll stop talking once they see , but I’m curious about the money. Was Cooper able to retrieve the stolen funds?
Leaning against the wall, I began to listen to their conversation, but only a minute elapsed before they discovered .
"Co in and stop eavesdropping; that’s a bad habit." Cooper noticed , ca over, and pulled into the dining room.
"She looks healthy; we were all worried for nothing," Parker glanced at as I entered. Gavin had his attention on his phone, but Bryce couldn’t stop staring at .
"I... I..." I stamred, lost for words. I got caught eavesdropping; what possible excuse could I make?
"Sit," Cooper said, taking to a chair close to his, and we sat down.
"What were you so curious about? Why wouldn’t you just ask us?" he queried.
"You’ll... ignore ," I muttered.
"What do you want to know?" He focused his attention on .
"Were you able to retrieve the money? What about John? Is he in police custody?" I murmured.
"Why would John be in police custody?" Cooper scoffed. "He didn’t steal the governnt’s money. He stole my company’s funds. He is in my custody, not the police’s," he explained.
Oh, so they were able to retrieve the money?
"Ohh."
"Is that all? Do you have other questions? For other things you’re curious about, you can ask your questions. I’m in a good mood today," Cooper smirked.
He is in a good mood; he got his money back. I’m happy he was able to recover it.
Eight hundred billion dollars is too huge to lose.
But how was he able to get it? Did Bryce’s thod work?
"H...how?" I blinked as I stared at him.
Cooper opened his mouth and was about to respond, but Parker beat him to it.
"Bryce’s ideas worked," he said.
Cooper chuckled. "Yeah, once he learned that his grandma’s remains were dug out, he ca out of hiding. He probably didn’t expect that we’d go that far."
Oh, that’s how it worked. John must truly love and respect his grandmother. They’re lucky; not everyone is like John.
But John is also strange. Why would he steal such a large sum of money? Well, they said he’d planned it for years. He didn’t steal all the money at once. He was diverting the company’s funds little by little until it reached that point.
"Ohh," I said, bobbing my head again.
"Can we eat now, or do you have more questions? You’re still a patient, so I’ll go easy on you too. I’ll answer all your questions, and I’ll do everything you want from ."
"Everything?" I gasped, my eyes widening.
"Yes, everything. As I told you, I’m in a fantastic mood." Cooper turned his entire body toward .
I also faced him. My eyes sparkled with excitent as I considered what to say.
Should I ask for a vacation? No. No. I need to return to school. I can’t go on vacation now; exams are also coming up.
Then should I ask for a picnic? Yeah.
Maybe a date too.
Sounds like an idea. But there are other things I’m curious about.
"Is she still thinking?" Gavin murmured.
"I’ll order our breakfast now," Bryce announced and pressed the bell.
The maids rushed in the next minute.
"What do you want to know?" Cooper kept his focus on .
"Uh... I have questions and also a request," I said.
"Yes? State your request, and I’ll grant it."
I leaned closer to his ear and whispered, "A picnic date."
He smiled. "That’s not a problem; I’m always here for you, princess."
"What about your questions? You can ask them now."
Should I go ahead? I truly want to know about his family. His mom. I also want to learn about Bryce’s family, and I would like to know more about Gavin as well.
But I don’t know if it’s a good ti to bring these questions up.
"Do not hesitate..." He encouraged when he saw my hesitation.
After the maids served breakfast, the others dug into their al, but Cooper and I continued staring at each other. He was waiting for my questions.
"I... I don’t want you to... To feel offended. I don’t know if this is the right ti. But I’m truly curious about this," I said.
"What? What is it...? Tell ," He grew more curious as he stared at .
"Your parents... Do you share the sa father with Parker? I t Parker’s mom the other day," I gestured toward Parker.
"Oh, you did?" His brows furrowed as he moved his gaze toward Parker, but Parker stayed quiet.
"I did," I answered, shaking my head.
"You want to know if I share the sa parent with Parker?" He asked.
"Yes."
"I share the sa dad with him. We all have the sa father," he explained.
Ohh, sa father but different mothers, I guess.
"Sa mother?" I asked.
"No, not the sa. My mom’s na is Celine," he inford .
Celine? Oh, what a lovely na.
"Does she live nearby?"
"Nope, she’s probably on a different continent. I’m not sure."
He is not close to his mom either. Is his mother like Parker’s mom? I hope not.
"What about Bryce? What’s his mother’s na? I’m also curious," I said.
"Bryce’s mother’s na?" He briefly glanced at Bryce and chuckled.
Parker and Gavin also laughed.
What’s amusing? Why are they laughing?
Does my question sound funny to them?
"What’s your mother’s na, Bryce? You heard her," Cooper grinned, and the others laughed harder. The only person not laughing was Bryce.
Are they joking with ? He said he was going to respond to my questions. It’s not funny. I’m being serious here.
When Cooper noticed my frown, he focused his attention on once more.
"Bryce’s mother’s na is also Celine," he revealed.
"Celine?" I frowned. "Your mother’s na is the sa as his mother’s?" I gasped, but he laughed again. Harder this ti.
"We share the sa mother, princess. The sa woman gave birth to us," he confessed.
What? I thought... I thought...
