The brothers didn’t speak to until we arrived at the house.

"Go have your bath, then co down for breakfast in an hour," Parker instructed. I left their midst and went straight to my room.

"Oh dear, I thought sothing bad happened to you." Nanny Samantha hurriedly held as I approached. "The brothers were here; they asked a lot of questions."

"Oh, sorry about that," I apologized.

"I need to have my bath now." I walked into the room, and she followed .

"Did you drink last night? Should I get you hangover dicine?"

"No, no need; I’m fine."

"Are you sure? You don’t look well."

"I... I am fine."

Wait, where’s my phone? I need to call Ruby.

Oh no, Gavin still has it.

"Do you need sothing?" Nanny Samantha asked when I shifted my gaze to her.

"Yes, I do. My phone and my purse. I left them with Gavin; can you get them for , please?"

"Yes, of course, but I don’t think I know where his room is. Oh wait, I rember now; it’s on the other side." She started to leave, but I stopped her.

"Wait, I’ve changed my mind; I’ll go to him myself."

She frowned. "Really? Are you sure?"

"I will. I’ll have my bath quickly and go to him; you don’t have to concern yourself with it. Thank you for helping ."

"Alright, let prepare a hot bath while you undress."

"Thank you, please do that."

After undressing, I tied a pink towel around my body and went into the bathroom.

"I’m done now," she smiled. "Is there sothing I can help with?"

"Uh... no, thank you; I can manage on my own."

"Are you sure you don’t need to scrub your back?"

"It looks like it needs a good scrub; it’s a little too oily," she said, touching my back.

"Okay, if you insist."

I removed my towel and neatly folded it before stepping into the bathtub.

"I’ll be quick." She retrieved an exfoliating sponge and began scrubbing my back; after that, she excused herself, giving so privacy.

I washed the rest of my body and brushed my teeth before leaving the bathroom.

"I’ll dry your hair; sit down," she offered. I sat in front of my dressing table, and she retrieved the hairdryer.

"I hope you’re not in any kind of trouble with the brothers," she said.

"Huh."

"They didn’t look happy when they ca here; they asked so many questions, ones I know nothing about."

"I slept over at a local motel."

She gasped. "Those places can be dangerous; visit a good one next ti you decide to do this."

"Okay," I smiled.

After drying my hair, I walked to the section where I kept my house gowns; I picked a free pink dress and wore it.

"How many minutes has it been?"

"It’s been forty minutes since you returned."

"I’ll be at Gavin’s then." I left my room and went straight to Gavin.

"Hello?" I knocked on the door.

"Is that you, princess?"

"Yes, I’m here for my phone," I said.

"Co in, the door is open."

I opened the door and walked in to see him dressing in front of the mirror for the office.

"You’ve had your bath."

"Yes," I nodded.

"Your phone and purse are over there." He pointed to the table, and I walked over and grabbed them.

I unlocked the phone and sent a text to Ruby. I’ll call her as soon as I leave this room. I hope she got out of there safely.

I should also text her elder brother.

That’s right! I have his number, right?

I scrolled through my contact list and fortunately found his number; I sent him a quick text.

"Who are you texting?" Gavin asked as he worked on his tie.

"No, no one." I quickly inserted the phone into the purse and approached him.

"No one? Aren’t you texting your friend to ask if she’s all right?" He smirked. I pouted.

"Uh... Let help you." I took the tie, loosened it, and began redoing it.

"You’re so predictable," he sighed, but I stayed quiet.

After helping with his tie, I stepped back and examined it.

"It’s quite good; you’re good at this," he complinted as he examined it.

Yes, I have two younger brothers and a dad. Three n are in the house. I learned it while doing theirs.

"Okay," he walked into his closet, picked out a wristwatch from his collection, and wore it.

"Let’s move to the dining room; we have five minutes." He approached the door.

"Yes," I picked up my purse and walked out; he followed, closing the door behind him.

"Uh..." We had only taken a few steps when I stopped and turned to face him.

"What is it?" He also focused on .

"It’s about..." I cleared my throat and lowered my gaze.

"It’s about what? Are you worried about Cooper? I heard you insulted him so much last night."

"No... It’s not about him. It’s you."

"?" He grimaced. "What happened?"

"Do you have siblings? I know about your mother’s disappearance, but I was wondering, I... I don’t know, I thought I should ask if you..."

"Do I have siblings?"

"Yes!"

"I do. But they’re far from us. They’re twins; they stay together."

"Oh..." I shook my head in understanding.

"About your mother... You’re still searching for her? Am I right?"

"Yes."

"I also want to help."

"Ara, I already gave you an answer. No."

"I want to do this, please. I also want to help. Do you have a search party? I wish to join. I wish to gather all the information regarding her disappearance."

"I refuse. I’m pretty sure the others would disagree. I don’t need your help." Then he started walking away, and I went after him.

"I’m pretty smart too; I’m also a woman and..."

"No! I said no!" He stopped and faced .

"I can’t put you in danger; I have people I pay to do that. You have exams coming up; you’ll also begin your training as soon as Bryce’s schedule frees up. Focus on those two," he insisted.

"Okay," I muttered.

"You’re too young for this; why are you so stubborn?" He sighed and started moving again, but I didn’t attempt to follow him.

"Why? Are you mad?" He looked at .

"No," I whispered, shaking my head. I wished to call Ruby. "Go ahead, I’ll be right behind you."

"Okay, do not exceed five minutes," he warned before disappearing.

I collected my phone and dialed Ruby’s number. She picked up on the fourth ring.

"Ruby!" I exclaid. "Are you okay? Are you sober now?"

"I only woke up a few minutes ago; Landon is on his way here."

"Oh goodness, I’m so sorry for leaving you," I apologized.

"I heard the brothers ca for you. Are you in any kind of trouble? Were you reprimanded or anything? Did Cooper say sothing to you?"

"I don’t know; I’m about to go down for breakfast. I guess I’ll know my fate at the dining table."

"I wish you success; I hope they don’t punish you."

"I hope so too."

"Speak to you later."

"Get ho safely; speak to you later." Then the call ended.
