Leilani.
By the ti I woke up, it was already late into the night, and by this ti, Jarek had long since gone ho, but not before making dinner which he placed by my bedside table.
There was also a note with it, informing of the reason he had left— which had everything to do with the fact that his wolf was acting out tonight; and sighing, I slipped out of bed and went to take a quick shower.
When I finished with that, I ate dinner, moaning all through because besides being a very sweet individual, he was also a very good chef.
While I ate, mories of the ti we shared kept flooding through my mind, and Jesus, it made eating quite difficult. It made grin from ear to ear like a fool.
—And it made my heart flutter in a way that it never had before.
I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I knew that I wanted to love him and cherish and all those stupid mushy mushy jargons I always read in romance novels; but for so reason, I often wondered why he hasn’t popped the question yet.
Why he hasn’t said anything about us becoming a thing yet.
And maybe... just maybe it was the reason I was still so reluctant to go all horizontal with him.
Pushing these thoughts away, I spent the rest of the evening working non stop, completely losing track of ti. However, when I finished with work this ti, it was already early in the morning, so deciding to go for a run rather than go back to bed, I changed into a pair of running shoes, a short and a simple blue tank top. I also styled my hair into the highest ponytail in the world— even Ariana Grande’s couldn’t compare, and left my house.
Wait, before we go further, I’ll have you all know that I am naturally a very lazy woman.
I hate exercises and anything else that would exert or bring discomfort. In fact, one of the reasons Maya and I had beco friends in the first place was because she was very athletic and had always tried to push my limits... but besides her push, I never did this.
So tell why I was sprinting like my life depended on it?
Tell why my limbs felt like air while I ran through the quiet cold streets of my estate?
Tell why I still wasn’t panting even though I have been running for quite a while now?
These abnormalities made confused but excited in a way, and after running for a distance that I naturally would never cover in five days put together, I finally made my way back to my house, stopping abruptly when I noticed a small figure ringing my doorbell from a distance.
A frown creased my forehead as I soon began to jog towards whoever it was, and upon my arrival, they turned around and I was t with the most beautiful pale skinned teenager I have ever seen in my life.
Her hair was an ungodly shade of silver and her eyes... goddess, her eyes...
I gasped. "Are those contact lenses?" I whisper-yelled, unable to help myself.
The girl smiled softly at , the corners of her eyes crinkling in amusent and then she set the small box in her hands down before raising those beautiful eyes to mine again.
She shook her head. "No. Are yours contacts lenses?"
It took a mont for her words to finally settle in my head and I shook my head like an absolute idiot whilst a small smile played across my lips.
"No."
And I knew that I should be weary of her. That I shouldn’t be engaging in a conversation with a total stranger who for so reason was standing right in front of my house.
But I couldn’t help it.
Because the said stranger was cute. She was so cute that she made comfortable for no reason.
And strangely, I felt a kind of connection to her that I could not understand. One that made my body tingle with a strange kind of pleasure.
I couldn’t explain the way I felt around her but I knew that it was good, and throwing caution into the wind, I asked that one question I knew I shouldn’t be asking. But it slipped out of my mouth before I could take it back.
I asked; "Do you want to co in?"
The girl stared at for a second, her electric purple eyes glinting with sothing I couldn’t explain. She seed torn like she wanted to co in but didn’t want to at the sa ti, and after a mont of awkward silence, she finally shrugged and whispered;
"No."
"Why?"
Fuck, goddess! I need to stop talking now!
"Because I have a few more errands to run. But we’ll see so other ti, Leilani." She called out in a breezy tone; And it wasn’t until that mont that I froze.
My eyes widened and my breath hitched in my chest when I realized to my horror that I had never told her my na. Hell, I haven’t even seen her in my life before.
It felt like so of the mist covering my mind finally lifted as I realized then and there that I had almost invited a total stranger into my house.
Cute or not— she was still a stranger.
I asked; "Did you bring that?" And I watched quietly as her gaze dropped to the box before she nodded.
"Yes. I work with a dispatch company and this was asked to be brought to you. Your na is also written on it, and that’s how I got to know your na." She explained, and while that should’ve cald a little bit, it didn’t.
Why?
Because I couldn’t help but wonder how she’d managed to guess my thoughts so easily.
How her eyes seed so seeing... so wise and she didn’t look anything above fifteen or Sixteen.
I took out the box from her hands when she gave it to , and turned it over to check if it was really for — it was— but just as I lifted my head to ask her who it was from, I gasped because...
She was nowhere to be found anymore.
She had disappeared, like literally left... leaving nothing but the faint sll of her perfu behind.
My heart raced with fear as I took the box into the house and after peeling it open with a penknife, I stopped again when I was t with a small black box, and a note...
A note that started with the words:
Hello Sister,
Goddess, my hands then began to shake.
