Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: Marrying Is a Grievance for You Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: Marrying Is a Grievance for You Early autumn winds were chilly and brisk.

Out in the wilderness, the wind was strong, but there was a stark contrast inside the car!

Inside the car passion was ablaze.

Zaiden Santos pulled off his tie, unbuttoned his shirt, and turned off the interior light.

Ann Nolan closed her eyes.

In the relentless claiming of each other, Ann seed to catch the scent of roses in the air.

At first, she hadn’t noticed, but now… she slled it.

Zaiden’s body had no perfu scent, but carried a faint rose fragrance.

In the repeated tumult, Ann was too weary to open her eyes, listlessly hooking her arms around his waist.

She didn’t know how long it had been before the tornt finally ended.

Ann had never experienced pleasure from such acts, it was more often than not coerced.

Just like her first ti, half a month after their wedding, Zaiden, drunk, had stumbled upon her coming out of the bathroom.

As inevitably as a fire set to dry wood, she had given herself to him.

Back then, she was unaware of the other person in his heart.

She assud his cold indifference was due to his busy work schedule, and never gave it much thought.

Until she gradually uncovered the hidden truth.

That incident from a year ago still seed so vivid when she thought about it now.

After exhausting her twice, Zaiden Santos covered her with a blanket before returning to the driver’s seat.

Ann weakly stared at the roof above her, her gaze empty and drained.

Zaiden dressed himself, lit a cigarette, and said nothing.

The ember from the cigarette glowed and faded in the darkness, sporadically visible, casting a frosty sheen over his tall fra.

“Zaiden Santos,” Ann opened her mouth slowly and called out his na, her voice chillingly cold and hoarse, she looked like a powerless ragdoll, “do you know what I regret the most?”

Her tone was strikingly calm, tinged with a faint sorrow.

Strands of her hair fell upon her face, hiding the confusion and haziness in her eyes.

Zaiden’s fingers paused, smoke rising, and he remained silent.

The man shrouded in darkness, still with a strikingly clear face, with curls of cigarette smoke swirling around him.

“When I was filling out university choices for the college entrance exam, I had two universities I loved: Jingcheng University and T University. I hesitated for a very, very long ti, and in the end, I chose Jingcheng University. I think… if I were given another chance to choose, I would pick T University without any hesitation, without a second thought.”

Ann’s voice was gentle yet punctuated with a hoarse catch, and even more so with resolute decisiveness.

Her complexion was very pale, like a piece of paper.

Zaiden’s fingers froze, and he didn’t take another drag for a long ti.

The cramped space was suffused with the sll of cigarettes, his brows furrowed tightly, a look of vast blankness in his eyes.

If they had never t, there would have been none of what followed.

Ann clutched the blanket tiredly, with an empty and feeble look in her eyes.

“Zaiden Santos, I know you’re annoyed by , I know,” Ann said slowly, “I overestimated myself. In your eyes, I am nothing but an ugly and unrefined woman, who can only study, can only work, you were right, I can’t even give you pleasure in bed. Marrying was an injustice to you.”

“Perhaps I always owed you an apology; if not for , you would surely be happy now, with a wife you love, children you adore, and a successful career. I really do owe you an apology…”

Her voice, thin as a thread, wound tightly in the air.

It constricted around Zaiden’s heart, and he felt a sudden irritability.

He took a drag of his cigarette.

Suddenly… the scene of their first eting flashed before his eyes.

Then, he was a junior, and she was a freshman.

Their first encounter was at the award ceremony after a national college student English speaking competition.
