Chapter 1144: Chapter 1144: I have money, will you marry ?
Lilac Serval hadn’t expected Charles Mcintosh to handle things so efficiently.
The day after the money was transferred, soone found her and handed over the deed and all the relevant docunts to her.
Lilac Serval was extrely surprised.
“Why was it processed so quickly?” she asked suspiciously as she looked at Charles’s associate.
The person pushed up their glasses and explained, “It’s like this, the apartnt Mr. Mcintosh bought was initially registered in your na, so this apartnt has always been yours. Now, Mr. Mcintosh only needs to hand over the property deed to you, and that’s it.”
What???
Lilac Serval was completely dumbfounded and couldn’t believe it.
“Are you saying Charles bought the apartnt using my na?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Lilac Serval flipped through the property deed, and indeed it was true.
So this lousy trick, he even made her pay 450,000?
That was her entire life savings.
“Miss Serval, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now. Call if you need anything. You have the keys as well,” the person said politely.
Holding the property deed, Lilac Serval still hadn’t co to grips with the situation.
Had she just been conned out of her money?
She was utterly broke now.
Should she be grateful to Charles for leaving her 50,000?
Thinking this, Lilac Serval was overco with anger and imdiately called Charles.
“Bastard, you cheated out of my hard-earned money.”
“…”
“Do you know how hard I work for my money? Do you know how long I’ve been saving it? Do you realize that was my security for most of my life?”
“Not really.”
“Damn it, your na was on the property deed, so why did you still swindle money from ? Do you have a conscience? Has your conscience been eaten by dogs?”
“If you feel shortchanged, then I can give you back the money, and you can return the apartnt to , how about that.”
“…” Lilac Serval suddenly found herself at a loss for words; this man knew exactly how to strike at her weak spot.
Though she was upset about the 450,000, she wanted to own an apartnt even more.
Considering the pros and cons, she wasn’t at a loss.
The light in Lilac Serval’s eyes shifted and her lips moved, but she was unable to utter a single word of defense.
Still, the 450,000 pained her terribly; thinking about it made her heart twitch.
“I have no money left,” Lilac Serval spoke up, her tone unhappy.
She leaned against the wall, her legs crossed, standing at his doorstep.
“You can borrow from , with no interest.”
“Are you really being nice or is it all for show? Do you have a purpose or a sche? If you really care about , give my money back.”
“Not a chance,” Charles lowered his voice, “You know money doesn’t co easily; don’t squander it away. In the future, as soone who will start a family, spending recklessly isn’t good.”
“Start a family?” Lilac Serval scoffed as if she had heard a joke, “I have no plans to start a family; who wants to cage themselves when they can live freely?”
“To you, a family is like a cage?”
“Pretty much, I’m used to being careless; I really don’t get your ways, and I have no intention of starting a family. Besides, broke as I am, I wouldn’t marry.”
Maybe a long ti ago she had considered it, but not anymore.
To her, a family was nothing more than a restriction now.
“I have money; would you marry ?” Charles spoke calmly, his face an epito of serenity.
“Mr. Mcintosh, you are supposed to be with Mr. Cheney, facing life and death, doing great things. I guess you’re not really interested in marriage, right? Besides, soone like you might suit a more virtuous girl. Surely you wouldn’t choose an uneducated, vain woman who drinks and smokes, right?”
