Her small hand clutched his tightly as if he were her lifeline.
She had completely forgotten, it was she who had put the drug in the drink, it was she who had done wrong.
Sylvan Cheney looked up, seeing the glitter in her eyes, his throat tightened.
Her neck already had several scratch marks, looking very uncomfortable, her little face showing a panicked expression.
"Jasmine Yale, do you know what this drug is?" Sylvan asked.

"Know the best way to counteract it?"
Jasmine Yale fell silent, staring up in panic, then shaking her head vigorously.

In her dizziness, she succumbed.
With a blurred vision, she couldn’t see the night, the streetlights, or the passing cars—she saw only him.

Jasmine Yale’s small hand clasped his neck, pulling hard at his sweater.
But no matter how hard she pulled, she couldn’t get it off, making her want to cry.
So, she slipped her cold hand inside his sweater, touching his body.
"Jasmine Yale!" Sylvan Cheney scowled, releasing her.
Jasmine Yale looked at him pitifully, "Take to the hospital, please take to the hospital..."
"You don’t want to be with ?"
Jasmine Yale shook her head, not knowing how to answer his question.
With a jerk, Sylvan Cheney grabbed her wrist and dragged her toward the Rolls-Royce!
Opening the passenger door, he tossed her inside, then walked around to the driver’s seat.
The car quickly started moving on the road.
Sylvan Cheney’s expression was grim, his jaw tense, his eyes deep and dark.
Jasmine Yale, pressed by the seatbelt, fidgeted with her hands, not knowing what to do.
Her life and death were entirely in Sylvan Cheney’s hands.
"Mr. Cheney...how did you know there was sothing wrong with the drink...how could you deceive !" Jasmine Yale was on the verge of tears.
He had realized sothing was wrong long ago yet pretended to be oblivious, chatting with her, watching fireworks with her, even holding her.
"Playing tricks in front of ?"
"I thought you wouldn’t know..." Jasmine Yale’s voice choked, "How could you deceive , how could you...why don’t you go get an Oscar for best actor..."
Jasmine Yale was moved to tears.
This ti, she was genuinely upset.
Knowing everything, yet still playing along.
She felt like a fool, seen through by him, yet unaware herself.
Having set a trap, only to trap herself.
Sylvan Cheney’s face darkened, turning it into a scenario where he had deceived her.
"Tell , when did you realize sothing was wrong with the drink, how did you find out?" Jasmine Yale was deeply distressed.
"Your inviting to this hotel was suspicious enough."
Jasmine Yale bit her lip.
"As soon as I entered, there was a drink already poured waiting for , shouldn’t I be suspicious?" Sylvan Cheney said sternly, "You advise against smoking and drinking, yet you personally poured a drink, Jasmine Yale, you really don’t have the mind for wrongdoing."
Jasmine Yale remained silent.
"So eager to get to drink, even feeding it to , Jasmine Yale, do you really think I’m a fool?"
"Are you not a fool?!" Jasmine Yale blurted out in irritation.
