When Jasmine Yale ca downstairs, she was holding flowers.
Sylvan Cheney looked up, a slight surprise flashing in his deep eyes.
Jasmine Yale dressed youthfully today, wearing a beige thin sweater and a star-adorned sh skirt, her hair tied with a light pink satin headband, making her look like a little princess.
She was naturally beautiful, and even a casual outfit looked exceptionally good on her.
Sylvan squinted his eyes, his sharp gaze falling on her.
She walked with her head down, holding the flowers, unaware of Sylvan watching her as she lifted her skirt to co down the stairs.
For so reason, Jasmine’s appearance reminded Sylvan of her in a wedding dress.
Wedding dress?
He averted his gaze, picked up his chopsticks, and started eating indifferently.
Jasmine sat down, placing the roses beside her.
"Move the flowers away while eating."
"The scent is quite pleasant," Jasmine said.
"Are you planning to sleep holding them too?"
"..." It was Jasmine’s turn to be at a loss for words.
"Is it your first ti receiving roses? Huh?" Sylvan asked indifferently.
"Do you think that’s likely? At University of Cakago, many pursued ," Jasmine didn’t lie.
There were classmates who had given her roses, but she never accepted.
Accepting roses ant becoming soone’s girlfriend, and she wasn’t that casual.
However, just last night she said she wouldn’t care about him anymore, never to speak to him again.
Today, he gave her a bunch of roses, and she lost her resolve.
How could she be so weak-willed.
"Do you prefer Cakago, or Landon?" Sylvan asked.
Jasmine almost blurted out "Wherever you are, I will like that place."
But, the words reached her lips and she swallowed them back down.
"Both are fine." She indifferently lowered her head and ate the tomatoes in her bowl.
Sylvan, however, smiled, not asking further, his handso face slightly squinting, his eyes gleaming inscrutably with depth.
After finishing the tomatoes, Jasmine looked up and pointed, "I want to eat fish."
The fish was within reach.
But her aning was clear, she just found picking out the bones too troubleso.
Sylvan picked up a piece of fish, carefully removed the bones for her, and then placed it in her bowl.
This wasn’t the first ti he had done this.
The very first ti he did this, she was only eight years old.
Once, Aunt Hurst made stead fish, which tasted very good and Jasmine really liked it.
However, before she had a few bites, she was poked by a fish bone and cried out loudly, crying and shouting "It hurts."
The fish bone stuck in her throat took a long ti to be removed.
Jasmine was prone to crying, and that ti, she cried like a weepy doll, from noon till evening.
"Never seen anyone this silly, choking on a fish," fourteen-year-old Sylvan looked at her indifferently, slowly saying, "And crying like this."
"Is it my fault for being silly?" Jasmine retorted through her tears, "Before, my mother always picked out the bones for , always!"
She wasn’t exaggerating; it was true.
"Did your mother pamper you a lot?"
"She was the best person in the world to Jasy," Jasmine pouted.
That was the first ti she got a fish bone stuck like that.
The next day, when Aunt Hurst made stead fish again, she refused to eat.
As the saying goes, once bitten, twice shy; she was scared and could only salivate looking at the fish.
Sylvan noticed her hesitation, picked a piece of fish for her, and patiently removed the bones.
