This place is spacious and bright, with very high ceilings.
Looking out the window, one can see the downtown area in full view.
She knows that this is the Cheney Family, the fruit of Sylvan Cheney’s hard work.
She had visited the Cheney Family once when she was in her teens, during a sumr when school had just let out, and she secretly ca to find him.
That day, she brought her report card, carrying a black backpack, ready to go ho from school.
Because her grades weren’t good, she felt down and didn’t want to talk much to her classmates.
It was a classmate nad "Nancy," who usually didn’t have good grades either and didn’t get along well with her, but suddenly, she scored in the top three of the class and was very proud of herself.
Nancy grabbed Jasmine Yale: "Jasmine, how did you do? Let see your report card?"
"Not good at all."
"How bad is it? Let see, co on, show it!" Nancy struggled with Jasmine Yale for the report card.
Jasmine instinctively covered it, refusing to show.
"Co on, don’t be so stingy, a glance won’t hurt you." Nancy was arrogant, "Don’t tell you did well and don’t want to see it?"
"No, I didn’t do well. Stop asking." Jasmine didn’t want to say.
Nancy’s boyfriend ca over, sneaked up behind Jasmine Yale, and grabbed her report card.
"Yo, failed in math, ha ha." The boy laughed loudly and handed Jasmine’s report card to Nancy.
Nancy glanced at it, half-mocking, "Don’t make fun of her. When has she ever passed? Failing is normal for her."
"Can’t you just leave alone?" Jasmine gave them a glance, "Nancy, so what if you did well this ti? You’ll rank last next ti anyway, what’s there to be proud of?"
"Well, at least I did better than you this ti, right? Jasmine Yale, your studying is so poor, you haven’t improved at all. Do you want to introduce you to my tutor? Oh, but the tutoring fee is a bit high, a thousand an hour, you definitely can’t afford it. But the results are indeed very good, I’m just looking out for you," Nancy said.
Jasmine knew Nancy’s family was rich, often treating classmates to als.
Because of this, even though her studies were not good and her looks were ordinary, she still had many friends.
Even a quite handso boyfriend.
But she was different, not so prone to splurging, and rarely attended class gatherings.
"Jasmine Yale, would you consider it? My tutor is really amazing."
"Amazing? Amazing in bed?" The normally obedient good girl Jasmine Yale blurted out sothing very crude.
"You! You!" Nancy’s face turned red in an instant, staring at her incredulously.
Her boyfriend’s face also changed color, nearly coming to blows with Jasmine Yale.
Jasmine, who was petite, dodged.
She put away her report card, stuffed it into her backpack, and said calmly, "Nancy, don’t look down on others just because your family is rich. Having money now doesn’t an you will always have money. I may be poor now, but that doesn’t an I will be in the future. Who knows, I might even marry a rich husband!"
With that, Jasmine Yale snorted coldly and left.
That was the freshman year of high school, the most rebellious phase of a student’s life.
Though Jasmine was well-behaved, there was a hint of rebellion in her bones.
Nancy bullied her, but she wasn’t so mild-tempered as to not retort or fight back.
She left indifferently.
Nancy shouted from behind, "Jasmine Yale, don’t bother coming next sester! I’ll have my dad talk to the principal to expel you!"
