Chapter 1413: Chapter 1413: Have You Thought About Having a Child?
Jasmine Yale, when she was in London, Little Chale Cheney would sleep next to her at night, telling her stories.
Though Little Chale was young, he had a good mory and a way with words, having clearly inherited all of that man’s intelligence.
He said it was Aunt Lilac who told him the stories.
Aunt Lilac would tell him stories, and his master would teach him to play chess.
But, he said what he missed most was his dad and Jasy.
At this thought, a light flickered in the depths of Jasmine Yale’s eyes, a layer of inexplicable aning trembling within.
She reminisced about Little Chale’s pure and innocent face.
Wanted to hold him as he slept.
Longed for his pale, tender little cheeks, and his soft, squishy little hands.
Whenever Jasmine thought of Chale Cheney, the sweetest spot in her heart would lt like honey, filling her chest with sweetness.
Lilac Serval chuckled, “I should thank Chale, actually. In London, I was so alone, but when Chale arrived, life felt like it had more warmth to it.”
“Didn’t he cause you any trouble?” Jasmine Yale carefully inquired.
“None at all,” Lilac Serval smiled, “Chale is one of the best-behaved children I’ve ever t. So sensible, and so bright. Before, I was too lazy to even cook at ho, but after he ca, I learned to make a few dishes, even though he didn’t co over often to eat.”
“Little Lilac, have you ever thought about having your own child?”
“A child?” Lilac Serval raised an eyebrow, “I don’t want one.”
“Why is that?”
“Having children is painful, and it makes you ugly.”
“Who told you that?” Jasmine Yale laughed.
“The TV.”
Jasmine Yale found this side of Lilac Serval quite amusing, truly soone unacquainted with worldly affairs.
“Little Lilac, Chale ntioned you have a lot of books at ho. Do you like to read?”
“I bought them just for show,” Lilac Serval flicked a strand of hair beside her ear, “Do I look like soone who loves to read?”
“Chale said you often read at ho.”
“Out of boredom, I skim through them. I didn’t study much when I was young, so now I have a bit of curiosity.”
Jasmine Yale and Lilac Serval enjoyed their conversation.
Topics between won are generally about daily life and fashion, and they talked as they pleased.
Soon, Charles Mcintosh ca over and took his suit from the coat rack.
“Little Lilac, ti to go, co with to the construction site in the north,” Charles Mcintosh’s gaze rested on her, his deep eyes brimming with gentle affection.
“I’m not finished with my tea.” Lilac Serval pointed to the rose tea in her cup.
“I’ve brought it for you,” Charles Mcintosh raised his right hand.
Jasmine Yale noticed then that he had a thermos in hand.
Lilac Serval, unable to find an excuse, reluctantly stood up: “Jasmine, let’s chat more next ti.”
“Sure.”
Lilac Serval followed Charles Mcintosh out, tossing her coat casually into his arms: “Here, take this.”
The two left the restaurant, vanishing from Jasmine Yale’s sight.
Sylvan Cheney stubbed out his cigarette and approached Jasmine Yale.
He wrapped his arms around her as she sat in her chair: “Where do you want to go this afternoon?”
“Are you busy? If you’re busy, don’t worry about …” Jasmine Yale’s eyelashes fluttered, “I’m not that clingy.”
The corner of Sylvan Cheney’s mouth curled upward.
“Or, you could work in the office, and I’ll just sit by and watch,” Jasmine Yale suggested.
“Alright, let’s go, I’ll take you to see a movie, I’ve booked the whole screening.”
“That sounds too extravagant, it’s not good.”
“…”
“Your subordinates are working, and you’re watching a movie, it’s not good.”
“…” Sylvan Cheney took her hand and led her out.
Jasmine Yale let him pull her along, following him out of the Cheney Building.
