At the tea house for breakfast.
Lilac Serval was probably having breakfast in Landon for the first ti, and her eyes were full of surprises.
"This is their most famous crab roe jade bun, try it." Charles Mcintosh picked up a bun for her.
Beneath the steam of the stear, Lilac Serval’s face was faintly visible across from him.
She looked at the breakfast Charles Mcintosh had ordered for her and said righteously, "I didn’t bring any money."
"I did."
"Oh."
"Do you skip breakfast every day?" Charles Mcintosh frowned.
"Not every day, mostly. I play too late at night, can’t get up in the morning, I’m not made of iron."
"You’re young now and can handle it, but what about in the future?" Charles Mcintosh said lightly.
"In the future..." Lilac Serval thought for a mont, "What else can I do? At worst, I’ll just lie in a hospital bed."
"Is being sick comfortable?"
"It’s not comfortable." Lilac Serval stated clearly, "But future matters are none of your business. Let’s eat breakfast!"
Charles Mcintosh didn’t say much more.
It doesn’t matter anymore.
No matter what, it’s not his place to intervene.
"This bun is really pretty good, want to try one?" Lilac Serval picked up another.
Charles Mcintosh lifted his chopsticks and took it.
"I rember you liked to eat three-fresh dumplings, do you still like them? Why didn’t you order them?" Lilac Serval said.
"My taste hasn’t changed, this place doesn’t have them."
"Oh."
The tea house was filled with distinctive aromas, this shop was doing good business, bustling with people coming and going, never lacking custors.
This was Lilac Serval’s first proper breakfast in Landon, quite a feast.
She wondered if this might be her last.
No point in thinking about it.
At so point, she had embraced the philosophy: live in the mont, don’t ask about the future.
What the future holds, nobody knows.
Lilac Serval lowered her head and ate her breakfast, Charles Mcintosh didn’t eat much, mostly just watching her.
"Is it good?" he asked.
"It’s good, you can’t get this in Lonton."
"You can co by yourself later, it’s not far from your apartnt, don’t be lazy."
"Too lazy to co, unless you pick up, on ti in the morning."
"Who are you to demand that?" Charles Mcintosh said coolly.
"I give myself that privilege, is that not okay? If not, then I won’t eat, I’m not used to having breakfast anyway." Lilac Serval wasn’t angry, she just lowered her head and took another bite of the jade bun.
"..." Charles Mcintosh said nothing.
In front of him, Lilac Serval was unconstrained; after all, they had known each other for many years.
Even though they hadn’t seen each other for five years, they were not strangers.
At that mont, Lilac Serval’s phone rang, it was Little Lilac calling.
"Sister Lilac, I bought soy milk and fried dough sticks for you."
"Sister Lilac isn’t ho, I’m at the office. Take care, eat them yourself, don’t go hungry."
"When will you co back today?"
"Hmm... depends, if I’m busy I won’t co back."
"Oh." The other end seed a bit disappointed.
After hanging up the phone, Charles Mcintosh’s expression changed, "Are you living together?"
Lilac Serval raised her eyebrows lightly, "Hmm."
Charles Mcintosh felt a headache coming: "Lilac Serval, can’t you give so peace of mind? Of all people, why did it have to be soone who sleeps around in bars?"
"I have no education, no family background, no money, no job, no connections... In the end, I’m just an unemployed person. Mr. Cheney is only helping out of past acquaintance. Little Lilac is different, he’s hardworking and diligent, serious about his work, clearly has a future, what’s wrong with that? And let correct you one more ti, he’s not soone who sleeps around."
"What does a 20-year-old kid know about anything!" Charles Mcintosh was annoyed.
