Not long after dinner, Sylvan Cheney personally went to the kitchen to get the Chinese dicine.
The freshly brewed Chinese dicine exuded a strong bitter sll, which wafted in the air and was quite pungent.
Jasmine Yale turned and ran: “I’m not drinking it.”
Sylvan Cheney placed the bowl on the coffee table: “I gave you the ti of a al to think, and your answer is ‘not drinking’, right?”
His voice was warm and deep, yet it carried an irresistible command.

The corner of Sylvan Cheney’s lips curved upwards: “Drink it first, then I’ll show you.”
He did not give in.
Jasmine Yale steeled herself and approached: “Do you keep your word?”
“The gift is bought for you anyway. Why wouldn’t it count?”
Jasmine Yale longed for his gift, but she was also afraid of the dark Chinese dicine.
Just as she hesitated, Sylvan Cheney suddenly picked up the bowl and took a sip.
With the speed of lightning, he pulled her into his arms, lowered his head, and his warm lips landed on hers.
Jasmine Yale was startled for a mont, her eyes wide open.
Before she could react, a mouthful of bitter dicine slid into her throat.

Sylvan Cheney peeled open a small piece of candy he had prepared earlier and stuffed it into her mouth.
Jasmine Yale swallowed it.
“Will you drink the rest yourself, or shall I feed you?” Sylvan Cheney looked at her lightly.
“I’ll drink it myself.” Jasmine Yale obediently picked up the bowl.
“Hmm.”
It’s not that she had never had Chinese dicine before, but it had been a long ti. Jasmine Yale gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, and drank it all in one go.
Sylvan Cheney sat on the sofa, saying calmly, “I’ve discussed your condition with the doctor. It’s not very serious, let’s try a course of treatnt.”
Jasmine Yale grimaced, silent.
“As long as you obediently take your dicine, I’ll bring you a gift every day.”
Sylvan Cheney stretched his arm, grabbed the handbag next to him, and unpacked it in front of her.

“Open and see,” he coaxed.

She bent down, and her fingers carefully untied the butterfly knot on the box.
As the knot was untied, the box opened, revealing a pair of champagne-colored rhinestone high heels inside.
Under the light, the high heels shimred with a bright luster, champagne color, subdued yet luxurious and grand.
The shoe design was not complex, adorned with small rhinestones, presenting a simple, pure beauty.
Jasmine Yale seldom bought such feminine shoes.
This pair of shoes caught her eye.
Her sparkling eyes kept gazing, her hands reluctant to let go.
“Do you like them?” Sylvan Cheney asked.
Jasmine Yale nodded: “Yes.”
She caressed the surface of the shoes, liking them very much, very much indeed.
Or rather, she liked everything he gave her.
“Shall I help you put them on?”
“Sure.”
Jasmine Yale sat down cheerily, her eyes filled with tender softness like water.
Sylvan Cheney squatted down, lifted her ankle, and fitted one of the shoes steadily onto her foot.
Then, he picked up the other one and put it on for her.
His movents were gentle, his fingertips brushed against her ankle, and she shuddered slightly, as if electrified.
