Chapter 1478: Chapter 1478: Won, Just for Fun
It’s hard to pinpoint what’s different, but I just don’t find it as interesting as before.
Could it be because I’m getting old? Jesse Rowan doesn’t want to admit that.
He’s in the pri of his life, after all.
Oh, maybe it’s because I’ve been too tired lately. When people get tired, they just lose interest in matters of the sexes.
Jesse Rowan thinks this reasoning is plausible.
“Mr. Rowan, what kind of woman do you like, then? Innocent? Sexy? The girl-next-door or the fem fatale?” the lady asked seductively. Even if such a wealthy man didn’t fancy her, she could introduce him to her friends.
Besides, her boss said Mr. Rowan is extrely generous and never stingy with won.
She and her friends could certainly share the wealth.
“I don’t have a fixed type that I like,” Jesse Rowan stroked his chin, “Being pretty is good enough.”
“Then why can’t it be , am I not pretty?” the lady pouted.
“Haven’t I already said it, young master is a bit under the weather recently. I’ll co find you after I’ve recuperated for a few days.”
“Then you’ll keep your word, Mr. Rowan?”
“Fine, fine, a promise is a promise.” Jesse Rowan closed his eyes, letting the lady massage his shoulders.
It was still a while before his scheduled eting with Sylvan Cheney, and love and romance were the last things on Jesse Rowan’s mind.
However, his body wasn’t weak; he simply lost interest all of a sudden.
The lady chattered on and on, making Jesse Rowan quite comfortable.
He took a sip of red wine and closed his eyes to savor the mont.
Yet, won and red wine were far from what he truly wanted, for both are insubstantial.
Money and power are much more tangible.
Especially won, who today might claim to love him but tomorrow might be found in another man’s bed.
Won, they are fine for a bit of fun, and their words are good for a brief listen.
He’s been with countless won but none was his girlfriend; he calls them companions.
The prettier or more varied they are, the longer he keeps them around. The less sensible ones, the shorter the ti he spends with them.
But whether long or short, he’s always generous with the breakup fee.
Suddenly, he rembered that girl from Koi Garden, Joan Harry.
A cold smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, and Jesse laughed out loud.
This one… certainly, he’ll have to pay a breakup fee too, but considering her personality, she might refuse it.
Whether she wants it or not doesn’t matter to him; it’s fine as long as he gives it.
“Mr. Rowan, would you like to sing you a song?”
“No need, I’m waiting for a friend. He might not be able to handle your singing.”
“Is my singing really that bad?”
“It’s not that you sing badly; it’s just that so n are naturally not very interested in won, understand?”
“There are still n like that nowadays? You must be joking with , Mr. Rowan.”
Just as Jesse Rowan was flirting with the lady, the door opened.
A gust of cold wind swept in.
Sylvan Cheney frowned slightly, a look of disdain in his eyes.
The atmosphere in the room was very much to his displeasure.
“My friend has arrived,” Jesse Rowan narrowed his eyes, looking towards the entrance.
Upon seeing Sylvan Cheney, the lady visibly paused – he’s truly handso.
“Mr. Rowan, your friend is so handso. Birds of a feather flock together, indeed. You’re good-looking, and so is your friend,” she flattered.
“Yes, you’re very astute. This guy is much wealthier than ; why don’t you go flirt with him?” Jesse Rowan pinched the lady’s fair little hand.
The lady only took one look at Sylvan Cheney and was captivated by his icy, frost-like gaze, quickly shaking her head while giggling, “I wouldn’t dare.”
