He lowered his head and tucked the blanket around Jasmine Yale before heading to the bathroom to take a shower.
The morning light stread in through the window, casting a faint glow on the floor.
When Sylvan Cheney ca out after his shower, Jasmine Yale was still asleep.
He bent down, his warm fingers pinching her soft cheek, his voice low and deep: “Jasy, wake up.”
Jasmine stirred, shook her head, and mumbled, “No.”
“Being naughty? Get up for breakfast.”
“Let sleep a little more.”
Jasmine couldn’t even open her eyes—she wanted to keep sleeping.
“So lazy. Get up.” Sylvan slid his hand inside her pajama top, his warm breath brushing against her face. “I’ll take you out for a walk.”
“I’m not lazy…” Jasmine squird, half-asleep. “You’re the one who makes nights exhausting…”
Every night was like this—wasn’t he afraid of wearing himself out?
To the point that she trembled at the sight of him every evening.
“So who’s the one clinging to , begging for a few more rounds?”
“Shaless.” Jasmine retorted to his teasing, “How did you make it through before? Calling the Little Princess? Or… handling it yourself?”
“…”
Jasmine burst into laughter. “I’m so tired! Carry up? Where are you taking to play today?”
Sylvan fetched her undergarnts and readied himself to help her change out of her pajamas and get dressed.
Startled awake, Jasmine pulled the blanket over herself, her clear, bright eyes darting toward him. “Don’t! I can do it myself.”
“Cover up for what? Is there any part of you I haven’t seen? Hmm?”
“It’s different.”
“What’s different?”
Jasmine’s face flushed crimson. “Nightti is different from dayti.”
Sylvan ignored her excuses, pulled off the blanket, and scooped her out of bed.
With practiced ease, he stripped off her pajamas.
First, he helped her put on her underwear, then picked out a soft yellow sweater for her and slipped it on.
Maybe life had been especially good lately—Jasmine’s complexion and figure had improved so much. She’d gained just the right amount of softness in all the right places.
Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down her shoulders, slightly ssy yet perfectly embodying the gentle beauty of morning.
Jasmine’s cheeks were rosy, and she offered no further resistance, letting Sylvan’s tender fingers glide over her skin.
Waking up to the sunlight, and being able to see him the mont she opened her eyes—perhaps that was the happiest thing in the world.
As Sylvan carefully dressed her, her large, bright eyes remained fixed on him.
Long lashes, a high nose bridge, a handso face, and an incredibly attractive physique.
The more she looked at him, the more she liked him.
A man she’d known for eighteen years.
“All done.” He raised his head. “Want to put your skirt on for you?”
Jasmine’s face turned red. “No need.”
“Alright, then get out of bed.”
Sylvan turned to the wardrobe to pick out clothes. Jasmine took the opportunity to leap out of bed.
She headed to the bathroom.
“Honey, where are you taking to play?” Jasmine called out.
“Spring is coming—I’ll take you shopping for a few new outfits.”
“Really? Great!” Jasmine was pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful he was.
Honestly, it didn’t matter where they went, as long as he was with her.
“I emailed you an English project proposal last night. Translate it for when you have ti,” Sylvan said.
“Sure! Does that an you’ll finally let work at Cheney Family?”
“Depends on your performance.”
“What performance? The kind in bed…?” Jasmine feigned innocence, her face turning red.
Sylvan curled his lips into a smile. “Jasmine Yale, you’ve beco quite the flirt.”
