Chapter 1583: Chapter 1583: She Doesn’t Want to Lose Him
“You heard what I just said—it’s not easy to get pregnant,” Aunt May shifted to a serious tone. “If he insists on precautions, your chances of conceiving are almost zero.”
Jasmine Yale bit her lip, her eyes shimring with a thin layer of mist.
Still, she smiled a little. “It’s okay, I’m not too eager to have kids anyway. Giving birth is too painful, I’m scared of the pain.”
Aunt May looked at Jasmine and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
This girl really accommodates Sylvan Cheney.
From the mont Jasmine walked in, Aunt May could tell she wanted a child. Now she’s saying she’s afraid of the pain—clearly, she doesn’t want to make things difficult for Sylvan.
“Take your ti. n’s thoughts can change. You’re still young; you can wait,” Aunt May advised.
“Mm.” Jasmine nodded sensibly.
She knew the Cheney Family had been facing so issues lately and that Sylvan had been very busy. Whatever he wanted to do, she would go along with it, not wanting to bring him any trouble or unpleasantness.
“But if you really want a child, I could give you so mood-setting dication. After taking it, he wouldn’t think of precautions,” Aunt May said with a smile.
Jasmine quickly shook her head. “No need.”
She knew how deeply he despised being sched against. She didn’t think she could be an exception.
She didn’t want to lose him.
Not even a little.
They chatted for a while longer, and Aunt May peeled an orange for Jasmine.
Jasmine ate half herself and saved the other half for Sylvan.
When Sylvan entered again, he was carrying an elegantly designed handbag.
His tall figure lood over as he imdiately walked toward Jasmine. His defined face carried its usual air of nobility and refinent; every gesture exuded gentlemanly charm.
“Bought Aunt May her favorite chestnut cream chocolate cake,” Sylvan said as he opened the bag.
“You still rember I love this!” Aunt May looked genuinely delighted.
Jasmine looked up at him eagerly, her gaze resembling that of a kitten begging for food.
Sylvan reached out and patted her fluffy head. “I got yours too—passion fruit cheesecake mousse.”
Sylvan knew Jasmine loved this dessert. Carefully, he took the mousse out and handed it to her.
Jasmine’s eyes instantly sparkled.
When Sylvan’s fingertips brushed against her hand, she even felt a sweetness akin to first love.
Aunt May, munching on her cake, couldn’t help comnting, “Getting a cake for is just an excuse, buying treats for the wife is the real deal.”
Still, Aunt May truly enjoyed the treat.
Although she was a doctor, she didn’t overly control her diet. Her annoying doctor husband, however, was a different story—he forbade her from eating this or that.
So, she often had to sneak her indulgences behind his back.
“Sylvan, you didn’t co today to have Jasmine’s health checked—you ca to feed dog food,” Aunt May snorted lightly.
“Oh? And what does Aunt May think about that?” Sylvan replied placidly.
“Hmm… not bad.” Aunt May was thoroughly pleased with Jasmine.
She also knew Sylvan treated her like family, like an elder. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have made such a formal introduction of Jasmine to her.
Receiving Aunt May’s approval, Jasmine felt a warm glow in her heart.
“Then we won’t disturb Aunt May any longer. Here’s the pack of cigarettes I bought—make sure Uncle gets them,” Sylvan said with a sly smile that resembled a shrewd fox.
Jasmine truly admired Sylvan—he had the knack for winning everyone over.
Aunts had to be pleased; uncles had to be won over too.
