At least he felt it was much more interesting than Joan Harry.
“You should go back.” Charles Mcintosh’s expression wasn’t very pleasant.
Whenever Jesse Rowan ntioned Lilac Serval, he thought of the scene at noon when Lilac Serval left.
Throughout the journey, Lilac Serval didn’t say much to him, even sold everything he gave her, leaving with just a Miu Miu.
When she left, Lilac Serval didn’t look at him, carrying an attitude of decisiveness and completely severing ties.
Jesse Rowan always had a smile on his face: “Mr. Mcintosh, why not work with in the future? I guarantee it’ll be much more interesting than now—feast on good food, drink fine wine, anything you want. And, definitely more interesting than following Sylvan Cheney.”
“I don’t need it.” Charles Mcintosh coldly refused.
“Tsk tsk.” Jesse Rowan sighed, such a blockhead.
How great to follow him; he could take him around Landon, cars, houses, won—he was adept in all.
Jesse Rowan rubbed his stomach: “Hungry, ti to go ho.”
After speaking, he got into his car, Liamly Finley imdiately followed and sat in the driver’s seat.
Without waiting for Jesse Rowan to leave, Charles Mcintosh turned and left the garage, heading upstairs. His tall, solitary figure quickly vanished under the dim lights of the garage.
Upstairs, Sylvan Cheney was organizing files.
Charles Mcintosh had already tidied up the CEO office, not needing much of his attention anymore.
After securing the last of the items, Sylvan Cheney stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, lighting a cigarette.
Outside the window, the night was deep, fierce winds blew, seeming like rain was coming. The street was littered with wind-tossed leaves.
The office was bright and spacious, starkly contrasting with the night outside.
Smoke curled around, the cigarette butt flickered in brightness, casting Sylvan Cheney’s elongated shadow in the light, standing solitary.
The air still held a light, suitable scent of lavender essential oil, not too strong nor weak, just right.
As Charles Mcintosh entered, Sylvan Cheney was standing at the window.
“Mr. Cheney, Jesse Rowan has left.”
“Hmm.” Sylvan Cheney turned around, “I’ll retrieve the major projects under Cheney Family in the na of the new company soon. The plans, however, I am still finalizing.”
“Alright, Mr. Cheney, I’ll also be going to Cakago then.”
“It’ll be busy this ti, hard work.”
“It’s as expected; I’m used to this paced life. If I suddenly have nothing to do soday, I’d probably panic.” Charles Mcintosh smiled faintly, “Mr. Cheney, it’s getting late, shall we go out for dinner? My treat.”
“No, Jasmine’s waiting for at ho.”
Charles Mcintosh: “…”
Sylvan Cheney instructed Charles Mcintosh on so matters, then extinguished the cigarette and took his coat from the rack.
“I’ll head back first.”
“Alright.” Charles Mcintosh nodded, “I’ll go to the office to print out the docunts needed for tomorrow.”
“Don’t work too late, it’s already seven-thirty.” Sylvan Cheney glanced at his watch.
Upon leaving the CEO office, Sylvan Cheney called Jasmine Yale.
“What are you doing?” he asked proactively.
“Waiting for you.” Jasmine Yale smiled while sitting on the sofa, shaking her feet with the phone in hand, a tablet resting on her legs.
“Haven’t had dinner yet? It’s late.”
“Well, since you’re coming ho, I’ll wait to eat with you; I’m not very hungry. I made so snacks in the afternoon. It’s been a long ti since I cooked, my skills are rusty.”
“What did you make?” Sylvan Cheney started the car and put on his headset.
“Matcha cake, red bean pie, at floss roll, coconut jelly, just these.”
