Capítulo 1646: Chapter 1646: I Didn’t Treat You as a Human

Jesse Rowan was eating the al that had just been delivered while talking on the phone: “Got it, send it to my email.”

“Mr. Rowan, can you spare half an hour for a video conference?”

“Do you even know what ti it is right now?” Jesse Rowan was about to lose it.

“Almost… it’s ten-thirty.” Liamly Finley shrugged helplessly; he couldn’t be blad for this as he didn’t want to be working this late either. “Mr. Rowan, just hang in there for a few more days, once the Cheney Family’s issues are settled, it’ll be all good.”

“I’m not free tonight.”

“Oh, never mind then. Should I attend the eting myself?”

“Alright, go ahead, attend it yourself. Call if there’s any problem.”

Liamly Finley was feeling increasingly helpless, but having worked under this young master for a few years, he was familiar with his nature. He excelled in eating, drinking, and playing, but he didn’t like being constrained, especially when it ca to work.

Back then, he wasn’t fond of studying either, but he was smart enough to rank first at Canford Business School without much effort.

Making him work overti was akin to sentencing him to death.

“Mr. Rowan, it’s raining tonight, are you still out having fun?” Liamly Finley asked.

“Mind your own business, you think all I do is fool around?”

Liamly Finley twitched at the corner of his mouth: “…”

Not worth provoking.

Liamly Finley hung up the phone proactively, no longer speaking.

“Dare to hang up on , you’re tired of living.” Jesse Rowan snorted coldly, tossed his phone aside, and continued eating.

The food at the hospital cafeteria wasn’t great, but he was hungry, so he ate with relish without complaining.

He wasn’t a particularly picky person; back when he was in college doing social aid activities, he had carried luggage, visited mountainous areas, eaten simple als — he didn’t grow up in a privileged environnt, he was accustod to hardship.

Soon, Liamly Finley sent him several emails in a row; his phone kept buzzing with notifications.

Email after email, Jesse Rowan was so furious he almost lost his appetite.

Just going through them all would probably take several hours.

Damn it, being a CEO is so exhausting; if he had known earlier, he wouldn’t have taken the job.

Jesse Rowan quickly scooped a few more bites of food, holding chopsticks in one hand and his phone in the other.

He was in an enclosed area; Joan Harry was sleeping in the hospital bed outside.

Ti ticked away slowly, and the rain continued to fall.

Due to the exhaustion and fatigue, after dinner, Jesse Rowan brewed a cup of coffee.

For a while, the hospital room was peacefully quiet.

Joan Harry lay on the bed, not asleep, just with her eyes shut, mindlessly wandering in her thoughts.

What she thought about most was probably the carefree life of the past, but unfortunately, it was already a fleeting mory with little point in dwelling upon.

An hour later, a nurse ca round for another checkup and helped Joan Harry remove the needle.

With the needle removed, Joan Harry could move her hand a bit.

She glanced at Jesse Rowan standing by the bed, and with a faint touch to her forehead, she said, “What are you still doing here?”

“I can be wherever I want.”

“Oh.” Joan Harry ignored him further, reaching for the dication on the table.

Jesse Rowan quickly stepped forward, holding her hand down: “Can’t you just ask to get it? Or do you pretend you don’t see around?”

Joan Harry was blunt: “I don’t see you as a person.”

“Damn it.” Jesse Rowan practically gritted his teeth; he was so mad his teeth were itching, “If you dare say that again, I’ll kill you.”

“I don’t see you as a person.”

“…” Jesse Rowan rolled his eyes in anger.

He took the dicine out of the box and, not too gently, stuffed it into her mouth, then gave her so warm water.
