Capítulo 1679: Chapter 1679: Planning to Deceive Her for a Lifeti
“The day after tomorrow, I’m taking her to Willow Wave City,” Sylvan Cheney said calmly, his eyes showing little emotion, as if he were just discussing an ordinary matter.
Charles Mcintosh’s eyes flashed with surprise, but it soon faded within seconds.
Going to Willow Wave City during the Qingming Festival, Sylvan Cheney’s intent couldn’t be clearer.
All these years, ever since learning the truth, Sylvan had been wary of Willow Wave City and avoided the nas Yana Yale and Hadley Xinez for a long ti.
Charles, who had been by Sylvan’s side all along, understood Sylvan’s every move better than anyone else.
He had accompanied Sylvan to Willow Wave City in the past to investigate the truth and gather evidence, nearly attending every step of the process.
Upon uncovering the truth, and realizing Jasmine Yale was indeed the granddaughter of Patronus Xinez, Sylvan’s first choice was to conceal it.
If he had to set a deadline, he intended to keep it from her for a lifeti.
However, later on, things sowhat slipped out of Sylvan’s control.
Now, Sylvan voluntarily suggested taking Jasmine back to Willow Wave City.
Charles nodded, “Should I arrange the itinerary?”
“No need, I’ll drive her there myself.”
“Alright.” Charles didn’t say much more, his heart held little hatred; even if there had been so in the past, after more than twenty years, what couldn’t be resolved?
His father had always been a carefree person, who smiled often in his free ti, frequently telling him that the world had more happy things than unhappy ones, making life quite beautiful.
Thinking of this, Charles’s gaze shifted again to his father’s tombstone.
Looking that way, it felt as if his father were still alive.
Charles had long harbored no resentnt towards the Xinez Family, and even less towards Jasmine Yale.
Sylvan Cheney took another drag of his cigarette, nearly finishing another one.
As night descended, the cetery was enveloped in darkness, surrounded by silence.
Tomorrow, he would spend another day accompanying old friends, and the day after, he would go with Jasmine to Willow Wave City.
Tor approached, “Mr. Cheney, Mr. Mcintosh, it’s ti for dinner, I’ve prepared everything.”
“Hmm.” Sylvan put out his cigarette.
Sylvan hadn’t placed many servants in the cetery, always feeling that this place needed tranquility.
Now, it consisted only of Tor, Butler Santana, Charles, and himself, along with a driver and two housemaids in charge of cleaning.
The al was exceptionally simple; Sylvan poured himself so wine.
This kind of festival was more fitting for drinking.
Charles moved the glass in front of him towards Sylvan.
Understanding the gesture, Sylvan slightly moved his lips and poured strong liquor for Charles as well.
The two sat in silence, no words exchanged, drinking one cup after another, in silent agreent and deep engagent.
The atmosphere was distinctly cold for a mont.
Tor dared not break the silence, quietly standing by, sotis bringing over the dishes he had prepared.
The two n, who once dominated the business world, now revealed their humanity, capable of emotions, tenderness, and sighs.
People are not made of stone, no one is born cold-hearted.
They remained silent, and Tor didn’t dare to speak, but elderly people’s tears co easily; she had cried all day and her eyes were still red and moist, with a hint of subtle sorrow.
Looking at Sylvan and Charles, she felt like crying again but managed to hold her tears back.
The Cheney Family had lost dozens of lives, especially the young lady who had jumped into the river.
In the pri of her life, she chose an extre thod to end her existence.
Unless driven to despair and t with a dead end, who would choose such a way?
