Chapter 1722: Chapter 1722: At This Mont, She Was Afraid

Swimming in the river already requires a huge expenditure of physical strength.

The waist is a critical area…

“Jasmine Yale, grab the boat railing, don’t let go.” But Charles Mcintosh had no ti to think, he only knew he had to protect Jasmine Yale.

Jasmine was very obedient, although tired, using the buoyancy, grabbing the boat railing wasn’t very difficult.

Suddenly, a surge of tide ca, cold water flooded over the heads of Jasmine and Charles.

Their bodies were soaked in the water, feeling very uncomfortable.

“Hold on a little longer, my people will be here soon.” Charles shielded her, fearing a wave might sweep her away.

But, he wasn’t sure how long Jasmine could hold out.

He wasn’t Sylvan Cheney, he didn’t know how to make Jasmine keep going.

But he understood that if they stayed in the water too long, the wounds would get infected.

“Sylvan…” Jasmine looked around in confusion, “Where’s Sylvan…”

Charles felt a dull pain in his chest, like a drumstick striking his heart, causing a muffled thud.

Jasmine beca a bit anxious, where was Sylvan Cheney? Wasn’t he in the boat?

Where was Sylvan Cheney?

Where was he?

The fear in Jasmine’s eyes surfaced, a look she hadn’t shown all night.

Whether it was facing Lana Fern’s humiliation or Spencer Childe’s cane, she hadn’t been afraid.

But at this mont, she was scared, her heart felt suddenly empty.

She was flustered, wanting to find Sylvan Cheney.

Charles was just about to speak, when he saw a large ship coming against the wind.

A bright glint appeared in his eyes, their reinforcents had arrived!

The ship was brightly lit, lined with bodyguards in black clothing. Raindrops fell on their faces, but they remained impervious, still orderly.

“Miss Yale, it’s alright now, our people have arrived.” Charles grasped Jasmine’s hand.

The river current was rapid at this mont, he really feared that if he let go, a wave would take Jasmine away.

He couldn’t let go.

A lifeboat was lowered from the ship, soone was steering it toward them!

Spencer Childe saw Sylvan Cheney’s people had arrived, knowing there was no advantage to be had, he thought of escaping.

Though he was rich and powerful, he knew his influence and status in Landon were far below Sylvan Cheney’s.

Given the current hostility between him and Sylvan Cheney, the latter would certainly not let him enjoy his later years peacefully.

“Start the ship, go!” Spencer Childe ordered his n.

Charles had no intention of letting Spencer Childe go, how could he account to Sylvan Cheney if he did!

Spencer Childe had hard Jasmine Yale to this extent, already crossing Sylvan Cheney’s bottom line.

Charles delivered Jasmine to the lifeboat, then pulled out a gun from his waist and fired a shot in Spencer Childe’s direction!

Bang!

Charles’s aim was precise, the shot hit Spencer Childe right in the leg!

“Ah!” Spencer Childe couldn’t hold on, dropping to one knee on the deck, his face turned pale, rain ran down his hair.

He never expected Charles would dare do this to him, dare to shoot!

Charles’s lips were tightly pressed.

He knew Spencer Childe was Sylvan Cheney’s maternal grandfather, no matter how much Sylvan wanted to act, he wouldn’t do anything against ethics.

Whereas he was different, he had no connection to Spencer Childe.

What Sylvan couldn’t do, he would do for him.

The shot was aid at Spencer Childe’s leg, given his age, it’s likely he’d spend his remaining days in a wheelchair.

Spencer Childe’s white hair was blown into disarray by the wind, kneeling on one knee on the deck, rain drenched his face.

At this mont, he felt his life was a total failure.
