Poor little sweetheart.
She’s all alone; how can she be happy?
Aunt Camden was quite busy, so she stood talking to Jasmine Yale for a bit before attending to her guests.
As she was leaving, she didn’t forget to remind, "Jasmine, stay for lunch, okay?"
Jasmine Yale nodded with a smile.
"Yukon, haven’t you had breakfast yet? You should eat sothing, or you’ll be hungry," Jasmine Yale said.
"I’ll go grab sothing to eat. Wait for a bit." Yukon Carbon placed Sweet Kitty down and walked into the store.
Getting sothing to eat was just an excuse; he went to quietly tell Aunt Camden about Jasmine Yale’s situation, fearing she might later ask so inappropriate questions.
Aunt Camden was shocked upon hearing this, followed by deep regret.
"That child Jasmine... really unfortunate, having lacked parents since childhood, and now... sigh..." Aunt Camden sighed repeatedly.
Yukon Carbon patted his mother’s shoulder, comforting her.
"Be kind to Jasmine, okay? She’s still pregnant now, it’s not easy for her," Aunt Camden said.
"I will treat her very well."
He didn’t have extravagant hopes, but at least, he wanted to see a smile on Jasmine Yale’s face, not sadness.
In the courtyard, Jasmine Yale sat under the wisteria, basking in the sun and drinking milk.
Sweet Kitty was also sunbathing under the flower pot, lying comfortably still with its eyes closed.
Jasmine Yale gazed at it, filled with tenderness.
But the little fellow ignored her now, how heartbreaking.
Before long, Yukon Carbon returned, "Jasmine, if you don’t have anything to do later, would you like to go out for a walk?"
"Sure, I don’t have any plans. But can we discuss sothing? Could I continue working part-ti at the bakery?"
"Of course, co whenever you want. Since you left, my mom hasn’t hired any college students for part-ti work; she thinks they aren’t as diligent as you, aren’t as skilled as you. I said, Jasmine does too well; no one can compare to her."
Jasmine Yale blushed at Yukon’s praise, "Don’t praise like that, I’m actually quite poor at hands-on tasks, and always need to learn things for a long ti before mastering them."
"But once you learn, you’re surely the best, aren’t you?"
Jasmine Yale laughed.
Yukon Carbon indeed understood her well.
After breakfast, Yukon Carbon changed into casual clothes and drove Jasmine Yale to the park.
In her flowing long dress, Jasmine Yale stood beside Yukon Carbon, who wore a white T-shirt, looking like a perfect couple.
Springti in Cakago Park is beautiful, a picture-perfect scene, blooming with flowers unseen in their holand.
The climate here is pleasant, with lush green grass, and strolling down the tree-lined paths is a lovely affair.
Jasmine Yale and Yukon Carbon walked side by side, with Yukon telling her about his work situation; transferring jobs was quite difficult, so he currently was stationed in Old York.
"Yukon, I want to go buy a pair of shoes later, can you co with ?" Jasmine Yale looked at him.
"Of course, we can go wherever you want."
Jasmine Yale chuckled softly.
Many of her shoes were high-heeled; she needed to buy a pair of flat shoes for casual wear.
Sunlight filtered through the dense branches, casting crisscrossed patterns on the flat open ground.
The air was fresh everywhere.
This park was where Sylvan Cheney had once walked with her, and later, he gifted her a cup.
Promises of a lifeti ultimately didn’t culminate in a journey together.
Jasmine Yale looked up, gazing at the layers of intertwined branches.
Such feelings could beco cherished mories, though they were elusive at the ti.
