Jasmine Yale extended her hand in a daze, but all she grasped was a handful of empty air.
The rays of the morning sun shone down from the sky, the golden light falling on her face, her dress, tinting her hair with a layer of beautiful color.
Her long eyelashes fluttered slightly, and her eyes were filled with astonishnt and confusion.
As if that Maybach had never co at all, the distance was empty and desolate.
Was she missing him too much? So much so that…she was hallucinating, linking even a silhouette back to him.
A gentle breeze lifted her hair, the morning air still carrying a hint of damp mist.
The street was quiet and still.
Her gaze was still fixed on the door of the restaurant across the street, but there was nothing there now.
A silhouette would be enough…
Anything that resembled him would be enough.
She missed him so much.
She wanted to tell the wind about her longing, and let the wind carry her yearning and affection to him.
Jasmine Yale stood there motionless, her entire being akin to a statue, her gaze still on the spot where the Maybach disappeared.
The blood in her body was still rushing, yet as the wind gradually blew over, the warmth in her body slowly waned.
“Sylvan Cheney…”
She softly called his na, but he would no longer respond to her.
The back of that person really resembled Sylvan Cheney, wearing a black suit, standing tall.
She truly missed him so much, that her whole being was hallucinating.
There were plenty of tall, good-looking, graceful n in the world, how could it be him…
It just barely resembled him.
Sylvan Cheney was gone.
If he were here, how could he bear not to see her, how could he bear to leave her and the baby behind.
She was hallucinating.
Jasmine Yale’s forlorn and lonely figure was elongated by the morning sun, casting a slanted shadow on the ground, intertwining with the shadows of the trees, making her appear even lonelier.
Across the road, there was nothing left anymore.
Yet, she was unwilling to retract her gaze.
“Sylvan Cheney…do you miss ?” Jasmine Yale placed her hand on her stomach, gazing dazedly across the street, her face bearing a blank expression.
Three months had passed, and she still hadn’t co to terms with the fact that Sylvan Cheney had left her.
She could hallucinate anything.
“Beep beep…”
A car horn honked from behind her.
Jasmine Yale’s thoughts snapped back, and only then did she realize she was almost standing in the traffic lane.
Just now, she had dashed out of the restaurant recklessly, her legs still weak.
She had made a mistake.
No matter what happens, what was most important now was to protect the child in her womb.
Sylvan Cheney was gone, how could she let anything happen to the baby.
The first trister’s danger period was not over yet.
Jasmine Yale knew she was wrong; she took two steps back, retreating to the sidewalk.
When she dashed out just now, she truly hadn’t treated herself like a pregnant woman; how could she still be so impulsive…
“Baby…” Jasmine Yale caressed her belly, “I’m sorry, it won’t happen again, Mommy will keep you safe.”
She promised to be a responsible mother.
This baby did not co easily, it couldn’t end up like the last one, gone.
She slowly retreated back into the restaurant, a bitter taste welling up in her throat.
Breakfast was still unfinished, she sat back down in her seat.
No matter what, she needed to eat well and take good care of herself and the child.
But her mind remained sowhat disoriented.
Looking back outside, the Maybach was no longer there, nor was the man who resembled Sylvan Cheney.
It was as if her vision was blurred, as if she had been daydreaming.
