“Alright, the baby agrees, so let’s go.” Jasmine Yale gently touched her belly. She wore loose clothing, making her inconspicuous in the crowd.
The lobby was crowded, with people coming and going frequently.
Not far from the lobby was the administrative entrance of the Jas Building, used by the building’s executives and important clients, with rigorous security at the door.
Luxury cars were parked outside the administrative entrance, with guests arriving from ti to ti.
Jasmine Yale shouldered her bag, feeling a bit overwheld. Maybe she shouldn’t have co today.
How could she forget again, this year, nothing else mattered; the baby was the most important.
Jasmine squeezed through the crowd, heading for the exit.
Behind her, so classmates watched her leave, their eyes wide with gossip: “Look at you guys, I told you to keep your voices down, and now you’ve upset her.”
“Guess we hit the mark, right? After all, what’s a pregnant woman doing looking for a job? Obviously, she ran out of money and has no one to support her.”
“Look at her, she really seems to be planning to have the baby. Maybe she wants to leverage the child for benefits, extorting a fortune from the father!”
“She must be really strapped for cash now, otherwise, who would be willing to queue for an interview in such hot weather?”
Amidst the noise, these words still reached Jasmine’s ears.
In an instant, a deep sense of exhaustion swept over her.
She didn’t plan to care about these rumors, but both physical and ntal fatigue and anxiety lingered.
The feeling was like dense threads entwining her heart, making it hard for her to breathe.
At the entrance, Jasmine raised her arm, glancing at the blazing sun in the sky.
The scenery was beautiful, the ti was good, but the road before her didn’t seem so wonderful.
She stood there for a long ti, quietly standing.
After a while, she stuffed the folder into her backpack, adjusted her hair and her mood, and opened her parasol.
The large parasol shielded the scorching sun. She left the lobby entrance and walked out of the Jas Building.
This was the financial district, with tall buildings densely packed, and the Jas Building was currently the tallest, very grand.
Jasmine walked along the roadside, her feet sore and tired.
She furrowed her brows, forcing herself to move forward.
Beyond this area, there was a milk tea shop. She felt so hot, her back drenched in sweat.
“Sylvan…” she softly called his na, a misty haze forming in her eyes.
When she was tired, she liked thinking of him; just the thought of him gave her the courage to keep going.
“Baby, I’m sorry, for making you suffer in such hot weather. Let’s go ho…”
Suddenly, a wave of nausea rolled through her stomach again.
Jasmine smiled bitterly, her lips curving faintly.
The little one was protesting.
Jasmine covered her mouth and hurried to the garbage can nearby.
The umbrella slipped from her hand, sweat beading on her forehead and nose.
How did she let herself get so disheveled, so hot, thirsty, and uncomfortable?
The backpack slipped from her shoulder as well, but Jasmine didn’t care, crouching by the trash can, vomiting endlessly.
The morning sickness was unbearable. She wished she had soone to accompany her, offering tea, water, and tissues.
Though she’d been through pregnancy sickness once before, she never got used to it, still vomiting miserably like six years ago.
Six years ago, the nausea was more regular, usually happening once in the morning and not recurring.
This baby, however, was clearly more troubleso, sotis leaving her alone for days, sotis tornting her several tis a day.
Today was already the second ti.
