Jasmine Yale’s clear and gentle voice was like a lark’s; as she began to sing softly, her voice spread like a spring breeze.
She swung her feet, and the bells on her feet sounded like accompanying instrunts, ringing with the wind.
The alluring night, the intoxicating scenery.
Everything was exceptionally beautiful.
Yukon Carbon sat close to her, listening to her sing, his gaze gentle as it fell on the back of her hand.
At this mont, he felt all his persistence was worthwhile.
The effort wasn’t for reward, nor for the so-called outco; whether there was an outco or not was the sa to him. He just wanted to see the world’s most beautiful scenery—her smile.
Now that he had seen it, he was very satisfied.
Unconsciously, the song ended.
She finished singing.
Yukon Carbon snapped back to reality: "You sing so beautifully, yet this is the first ti I’m hearing it. Jasmine, you’re a bit unfair."
"Only you think it sounds good; everyone else says it doesn’t." Jasmine Yale laughed, "And you? Would you like to sing a song for ?"
"Next ti."
"Alright, then next ti."
"The bonfire party has already started. Do you want to sit here and watch, or go to the front for a better view? It’s clearer in the front but more crowded."
"Is there anywhere else we can watch from?"
"That restaurant." Yukon Carbon pointed over, "The second and third floors of that restaurant offer a view, but I fear we won’t get a private room if we go now."
"No, watching from the restaurant lacks atmosphere. Let’s go, we’ll watch from over there. I’ll be careful."
"Alright."
Yukon Carbon led her to the most spectacular part of the bonfire.
The flas soared skyward, grand in montum.
A group of people were singing and dancing around the bonfire, their heads sweaty, but they didn’t care, having so much fun.
Jasmine Yale held her waist with one hand and gently caressed her belly with the other.
The baby was much luckier than she was, having seen so many things before even being born.
The wind lifted her pale yellow long dress, revealing her fair ankle when the skirt flicked up, and on her ankle was a silver bell.
With each step, the bell would ring "ding-ding," clear and pleasant to the ear.
She was almost always staring intently, sotis clapping along with the rhythm; the firelight made her small face blush, but she didn’t feel hot.
"Tired? Thirsty?" Yukon Carbon would occasionally turn his head to ask her.
Jasmine Yale shook her head: "Not tired, not thirsty either."
Her bright eyes were like the stars in the sky, twinkling.
Cakago’s evening breeze was vast and intoxicating, drifting with the scent of flowers and red wine.
Midway, Jasmine Yale needed to go to the restroom.
She jingled the bell as she walked to the restroom.
After coming out, thinking Yukon Carbon had accompanied her for a long ti and must be tired, she went to the restaurant to buy drinks.
"May I ask, what would you like?" The server was very polite.
Jasmine Yale opened her mouth: "A chilled peach juice, and a..."
"A vodka, please." A deep, rich voice sounded from behind.
Before Jasmine could continue, the server smiled and nodded at the man: "One mont, sir."
"I... I ca here first..." Jasmine protested.
She turned her head and t Sylvan Cheney’s expressionless face; he looked like he’d had a drink, but he wasn’t drunk.
She looked at him, and he glanced at her.
They hadn’t seen each other for many days, and Jasmine hadn’t expected to run into him here.
Jasmine felt indignant, clearly she had arrived first, and he was behind her in line.
