Jasmine Yale stopped at the door, seeming to hesitate over sothing.
After a long while, she touched her belly and said slowly, "My baby was bullied today."
It was quiet here, and Sylvan Cheney heard her, scoffing, "Your baby was bullied, what does that have to do with ."
"Your fiancée’s best friend is quite formidable, sharp-tongued and not lacking in the ability to act." Jasmine Yale gritted her teeth.
Even though she wasn’t one to snitch, she still wanted to tell Sylvan Cheney.
Sylvan Cheney recalled the scars on her arm, as if realizing sothing.
"CEO Cheney, do you like children?"
"No, I don’t." Sylvan Cheney almost didn’t hesitate.
"Oh." Jasmine Yale stood with her back to him, a look of disappointnt on her face. Even if he hadn’t forgotten her, knowing she was pregnant might not make him happy.
He truly didn’t like children.
Jasmine lowered her head, touched her belly, "Did you hear that? He doesn’t like you."
"What are you murmuring about?" Sylvan Cheney frowned, "What nonsense."
"CEO Cheney, I still have things to do, I’ll be going now."
This ti, Jasmine didn’t linger, she turned and left the garden behind the company.
On a sumr night, the clouds were light, the wind was gentle, and the breeze felt very comfortable against her skin.
Returning ho, Jasmine felt a bit tired, her mood was indeed not good today, feeling exhausted.
After taking a shower, she wore pajamas, stepped on the fluffy carpet, and stood by the window.
She originally wanted to walk around barefoot, but rembered that things were different now. With a baby in her belly, she couldn’t act recklessly.
She had to walk to the window in slippers and look at the night view for a while.
Her waist was a bit sore, so she had to sit down, embrace her tablet, and write a work report.
Her arm still bore the scars from Stacy’s grasp, strikingly painful.
The work report wasn’t difficult to write; she wrote while eating an apple.
When she wanted water, she poured it herself; when she wanted fruit, she fetched it herself.
She didn’t like to trouble Butler Santana much; she did everything herself that she could manage.
She quite enjoyed working at Jas Group; her colleagues treated her well, especially Flora Sutton, who didn’t believe those rumors and sotis argued with those people when she heard them.
Jasmine Yale really liked working and eating with Flora Sutton.
Actually, there weren’t many botherso things.
Most of the ti, life was still quite harmonious.
She knew Sylvan Cheney and Erin Janus wouldn’t stay in Cakago forever; they frequently traveled for work and had their own private spaces. She rarely ran into them.
Jasmine Yale took a bite of the apple, her fingers gently tapping on the little keyboard.
"Baby, keep mommy company at work, happy or not?" Jasmine Yale smiled gently, her face showing a tender expression.
She was so looking forward to this child.
She hoped he would be born soon.
In the future, she wouldn’t be alone.
Around nine o’clock, Butler Santana brought her a bowl of bird’s nest soup.
"Miss Yale, eat sothing, don’t go hungry. It’s getting late, ti to rest; you mustn’t stay up late," Butler Santana said.
"Okay, I just have a bit more to do and then I’ll sleep." Jasmine smiled, her smile always accompanied by two shallow dimples, "It won’t take long."
"Alright, there’s a check-up next Wednesday; rember to take half a day off from work."
"Okay, got it." Jasmine Yale replied.
Butler Santana really liked Jasmine, seeing her like seeing his own child. He didn’t disturb her anymore, tiptoed out, and closed the door.
