Jasmine Yale softly caressed the blurry image of the baby on the ultrasound.
In another six months, the baby will be born.
Although she knew Sylvan Cheney would no longer accompany her to the delivery room, by then, she wouldn’t have the strength to ask him to go to the hospital, but she wouldn’t bla him.
Today’s checkup was already a borrowed happiness.
"Do you live alone?" Sylvan Cheney suddenly spoke.
"Huh?" Jasmine Yale looked up blankly, "Are you talking to ?"
"Idiot." Sylvan Cheney’s lips twitched.
"I’m not living alone, I have an aunt with ." Jasmine Yale answered with a smile, "The aunt cooks really well."
Sylvan Cheney wasn’t interested in this kind of stuff.
"Mr. Cheney, thank you so much for today. Can I treat you to a al?" Jasmine Yale always felt that favors should be repaid.
"I told you, I don’t want to have any contact outside of work with you anymore, today is the last ti."
"I understand." Jasmine Yale lowered her head in disappointnt and said nothing.
She looked at the ultrasound image, and after a while, she quietly put it away.
As she bowed her head, her hair cascaded down, covering half her face, from Sylvan Cheney’s position he couldn’t see her face and expression.
The car fell silent instantly.
The rain outside hit the window with a "patter" sound, the rain was getting heavier.
Jasmine Yale turned her head to look out the window, the window was fogged up with a white mist, hazy, obscuring the view outside.
She and he sat in the car, obviously very close, yet so far.
So far that she could never pull him back in her lifeti.
But no matter what, just him being alive was the best.
Jasmine Yale watched the rain outside, getting lost in thought, her mind wandered far away.
Inside the car, it was extrely quiet.
At this mont, Sylvan Cheney’s phone rang.
It was Erin Janus.
"Evan, where are you? I went to your office and didn’t see you."
"I’m out for a bit."
"Wanted to ask if you’ve had breakfast, I just bought so."
"I’ve eaten, you can have it."
"Okay, then I’ll eat it myself. After the eting in the afternoon, shall we go see a movie tonight? There are quite a few releases recently."
"We’ll see after the eting, I don’t know if there’ll be any social engagents."
"Okay, okay, then I won’t disturb you, bye-bye."
"Mm."
Sylvan Cheney hung up the phone.
Jasmine Yale turned her head, her gaze landing on his handso, stern face.
She smiled, "You shouldn’t be so cold when calling your girlfriend, girls are perceptive and tend to overthink, you need to be more enthusiastic for them to feel it."
Sylvan Cheney looked up, glanced at her coldly, and ignored her.
Jasmine Yale hadn’t expected his temper and personality to remain unchanged, still the sa, or even worse than before.
The car hadn’t yet reached the company, and Sylvan Cheney’s phone rang again.
This ti, it was his attending physician calling.
"Doctor Canary."
"Mr. Cheney, don’t forget tomorrow’s follow-up."
"I know." Sylvan Cheney’s voice was deep and introspective.
"Mr. Cheney, have you been feeling unwell these days?"
"No, sa as usual."
"Oh, okay, got it."
Sylvan Cheney sensed a gaze from the side, turned his head, and t Jasmine Yale’s bright eyes.
Those eyes seed to have magic, spreading an uncomfortable feeling throughout Sylvan Cheney.
When he hung up the phone, Jasmine Yale smiled.
She didn’t say anything, just looked at him with a smiling expression.
