Sylvan Cheney’s face darkened. Didn’t she know to switch off her phone during private etings?

Jasmine Yale was rummaging through her purse, completely unaware of Sylvan Cheney’s change in expression.

"President, sorry, I need to take a call."

She walked out of the private room.

It was Yukon Carbon calling.

"Jasmine, I heard it’s raining heavily in Cakago today and might get colder tomorrow. Wear more clothes, don’t sacrifice warmth for style."

"President Carbon is joking with again. Pregnant won don’t worry about style," Jasmine laughed. "I’ll take good care of myself. Is it raining in Old York?"

"Just a little rain, not much."

"Then it might get colder too," Jasmine said, "Has work been busy lately?"

"Want to go to a bonfire party? There should be one or two left as sumr is ending. Ti flies."

"We can go together if there’s ti. Last ti wasn’t very fulfilling."

"How’s work recently?"

"Not bad, I’m currently following up on a promising project, an entertainnt city... You know it, right? Our group might have a collaboration. If we secure it, the project will be mine."

"Entertainnt city? That’s a leading enterprise in Cakago. Your company’s developing fast, and you’re progressing quickly too."

"Working in such a company really makes one more ambitious."

"You’re off work now, right? No overti?"

"No, I’m having dinner outside." Jasmine Yale chatted casually with Yukon Carbon, like old friends who had known each other for years. The conversation was relaxed and joyful.

She learned that Yukon Carbon’s work wasn’t very busy lately. Despite his leisure, she was quite busy herself.

If they secure the collaboration within half a month, she would have to start planning intensely.

Judging by Sylvan Cheney’s attitude and confidence, it’s highly likely that the collaboration will be secured.

After chatting for quite a while, Jasmine Yale returned to the private room.

Upon entering, she saw Sylvan Cheney looking at her coldly. Jasmine Yale gave a sheepish smile and returned to her seat.

"Jasmine Yale, don’t you understand the basic etiquette when dining? Hmm?"

Jasmine Yale was taken aback, confusion evident in her eyes: "I... What happened..."

"What happened to you? You ask what happened to you? Since tonight, have I taken a call? Sent a ssage? Aren’t I busier than you?"

So that’s what it’s about.

Jasmine Yale quickly apologized: "I’m sorry, President, I didn’t notice..."

"It’s not that you didn’t notice, it’s that you didn’t care!"

"I’m sorry..." Jasmine Yale mumbled, apologizing continuously, "I really am sorry..."

Only when he ntioned it did she realize he hadn’t taken a single call.

He was so busy.

Sylvan Cheney said nothing, but cold anger still lingered deep in his eyes, ready to ignite at any mont.

He tilted his head back and finished the red wine in his glass, glanced at his watch, and stood up.

"Hey, President!" Jasmine Yale quickly stood up as well, attempting to stop him, "You haven’t eaten much."

"I won’t eat. If you’re hungry, go ahead and continue eating."

Sylvan Cheney brushed past her, his expression as cold and somber as the sky outside, eyes brimming with irrepressible anger, and even his voice was sharp and low.

Jasmine Yale was slightly stunned, her expression sowhat unnatural.

She grabbed him and stood in his way, not letting him leave.

"President, I’m sorry, it’s my mistake. Let’s sit down and continue eating, okay? I really like the food here, and it seems you do too. It’s hard to co by, let’s continue eating, shall we?"
